did anyone get the cores to wake up after raising the voltages?

Like I shared a few pages back, on their SHA256 gear I found with some funny boards which had a die issue, that I'd have to use varying voltage and speed settings for each die to get them to come back alive. It almost seemed as if the DC's were draining too much current from their common supply. If I got the bum one to come on, 2 other 'good' ones would shut down.

I have one board with a very odd speed and voltage configuration. The voltage is stepped, and for 2 of the dies I'm lowering voltage while increasing clockrate, and for the other 2 I'm increasing voltage while decreasing clockrate.

I found this out by setting stock voltage and then dropping to the lowest clockrate, going up step by step until it wouldn't work. Then I'd back down and see if I needed to add or remove voltage, and kept doing that until it either worked or killed off other dies.

Good luck.

He's a cheeky little blighter talking about breach of contract like that …

I've said it before - KNC is acting like refunding Titan customers is an existential threat. That's one reason why I don't think they are doing as well as people believe.

Have installation/heatsink issues been eliminated as a cause for bad die on Titan?

The reports of deterioration over a week could be loose screws backing out or bad goo.

I know many Nepturds were poorly assembled.
I had stripped case screws and crooked heatsink issues.
Many of us just did what it takes, censor the useless warranty.

Has anyone had one of the 6-pin PCI-e cables (on one of the Titan cubes) become extremely hot, causing the PSU to shut itself off? It began happening today after running (in a far from stable way) for ~4 days. It's an 850W PSU powering only 1 (formerly 2) Titan cubes.

FACT: There were hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths by December 2020 due to the censorship of all effective treatments (most notably ivermectin) in order to obtain EUA for experimental GT spike protein injections despite spike bioweaponization patents going back about a decade, and the manufacturers have 100% legal immunity despite long criminal histories.

I agree they appear to be in cash flow crisis.
That they have not met undisputed obligations (Nep refunds) is telling.
Some folks have been waiting 7 months.

A wierd thought tangent...
If their DC was 66% efficient,
they would need 50,000 20nm ASIC
to build out a 30MW DC from scratch.
(36,000 @ 20nm if existing 10MW is all 28nm)

This.

The fact that they even state on their own support forums that the unit can only function on certain pools is evidence enough that they are as aware of the fact the product does not meet the originally advertised specifications as their customers are.

Repeating their 'no refund' mantra and ignoring the fact that they are not even shipping a unit that conforms to the advertised specs, is just bully-boy tactics. They want us gone so they can dig in to that $14,000,000.00 payday from Creandum's recent investment.

Maybe it would be worth letting staffan.helgesson@creandum.com learn some home truths about KnC and what sort of company Creandum are showing the world they are prepared to go to bed with.

just a note they are getting around this by "blaming the pools" for not being able to handle their units.....so that is what they are saying/posting....the Titan can mine all scrypt but the pesky pools won't do so yet..due to their Titan being 'so advanced' don't ya know..that and the fact everyone is plugging the cables in wrong!

just got my unit..sitting here stalling looking at the box (unopened) .....should play horror music theme music to set the mood

(this as they say in the horror books ..does not bode well)

Hi everybody,

We are Swedish miners that are producing our own ASIC miners to strengthen the market and avoid monopoly.
Our company kncminer is pleased to announce the opening of a brand new web shop dedicated to the online sale of Bitcoin hardware to the international community, www.kncminer.com.

A lot of scam sites are appearing every day and we are not one of them, therefore we will not take any orders and are only registering interest.

We will in the upcoming weeks opening our order book to allow the purchase of our first set of ASIC miners. They are in the early stages of development now and will be ready in the summer of 2013 (yes in just a few months)
Register an account now it’s completely free and if you subscribe to our newsletter we will alert you the moment we open the order books for entry and other information around the ASIC products.
If you have any questions we will be happy to answer them.

Happy mining

No legit company would ever consider penning similar words that I highlighted above.

KNC would need to be able to build ASICS at less than $195 per TH to just break even after electricity and other farm costs.  If electricity was .10 kwh and difficulty 10% increases.

Well got the Titan ...11/7/14...been stalling setting it up.....2 guys on kncforums today posted they just got theirs and their whole units are  dead
zippo 2 for 2........ie nothing works....should have just gone directly to the install guide and avoided new msgs there I guess...

it is hardly encouraging...tried to get fired up by going to the movie Interstellar (good movie) did little to improve my mood.....

so off to at least get the thing unboxed and kinda sorta set up...I think I should probably drink heavily before actually turning it on thou

(slogs off to try....but man...I was not this pessimistic even when my Jupiter 550gh last Oct arrived with a soggy box/unit filled with rain water)

ah when I believed in KNC engineering....was such a sweet newbie fool...er now ...eh..not so much

(perhaps drinking heavily while setting it up is the answer )

Refusal to accept delivery is a breach of contract. Any costs for this (such as for transportation, storage and care of returned goods) will be charged to the customer refusing to accept delivery. Should the refusal to accept delivery continue, we will follow Swedish law and take the steps and measures necessary to look after our interests.

Your product not performing to the specifications advertised is a breach of contract.

Whether B2B or B2C you're the ones breaching the terms of the sale by trying to force delivery of a product that falls short of that which was paid for.

As for blaming the pools, what are they claiming exactly is wrong with the pools? I've had multiple Innosilicon A2 90's hashing as a single user on numerous pools without issue, so what mystical force are they claiming is behind their Titan not being able to function properly on them?

yep fun times...I of course DID NOT as promised get the Y cables from KNC with the Titan of 11/7/14 ...as promised the last couple weeks (my view is a lot of this stuff
was made and sitting around on the vain hope of a tech or firmware fix for the last 3 weeks but I'm probably biased)

the shakmods long y adapters I purchased ...just in case (end of aug remember supposed to get this knc titan by sept right?) they are incorrect...duh...shoulda
checked them out...but did not do so..duh

have 3 16awg y adapters from cablez (pm'd him for 2 more when I get the price) and 1 18awg y adapter from shakmods (thought it was 16awg) so maybe
I can limp by till something shows up (do you feel lucky....er not so much)

wtf screwed anyway if it blows up....less stuff to worry about (I got too much stuff anyway)

again almost? glad I had to set this up as a biz and filed taxes as such...I at least can get 1/4 of this damn Titan back over 5 years as equip depreciation
.....7.6k still sucks but still better then 10,131.80....would be nice to MINE SOMETHING on the vain hope of getting the purchase down to only 1/2 of the
investment back...(I know I'm still a dreamer)

(then again the product seems to be 'evil' could burn house down.....exciting times we live in)

anyway screw it all for tonight ..... I'll try to burn the house down tomorrow ( good to have goals)

as to the Titan I'm probably better off just thinking of the thing (less the 25% I may get back equip deduction) as a complete loss....wtf...if that is too pessimistic
I can be pleasantly surprised when the shit actually works or does not blow up burn cables or whatever ...rather if it turns out to be not a complete brick....then the gloomy scenario of thinking the crap can't get any worse from KNC ...I have recently concluded that 'worse' to knc is as bottomless as the ocean depths of the arctic they take their arctic cloud hashing name from..no matter how bad or how much it does not work....the reply is...."you did not seat the cables correctly' or some such nonsense

yeah setting it on fire would have the blissful wonderfulness of a conclusion to all this .....

last I heard the claim was the KNC Titan was 'too powerful' for the pools to handle ..yeah I about fell off my seat at that as well ..they have backed off some (not much still won't fess up to it being their issue)...but initially that was what customers were told....something along the lines of "as was the case when asics came out pools had to adjust to this new reality" or some such BS if I remember correctly (gag)

The pissy little twinks who moderate the KNC support forum are getting all stressed out about the wall of outrage that is washing over their tidy little nanny state lives and threatening people who speak up about problems with the ban hammer again. As the poster says, we all know where trying to manage bad news by banning forum members and deleting posts gets you in the internet age.

You've got a bad habit of posting incorrect details as fact, it will not be tolerated and your posts will be deleted. Continue to post in that fashion and your account will be banned. RMA's are handled on a case by case basis depending on the details we receive from each customer.

Keith, this is taken directly from an email from you to a customer that was posted in another thread. I am not making it up. Here is the quote:

Hi,
Apologies for the delay in reply. We offer return shipping for components that are DOA or similar. We have provided recommendations and steps to ensure that the cubes port do not burn, they can usually only burn if the connector is not making full contact on all 6 pins as the power then only travels down a few of the pins and overloads them.
We will repair/replace the cube and send it back to you in the quickest way possible.

As far as banning my account goes, you are free to do that anytime you want. It will look really good to the world to see that KNC is banning customers from their support forum who paid $10000 dollars for a product that doesn't work right, was delivered late, is unsafe to operate and comes with RMA policies that disavow responsibility by forcing customers to pay return shipping for burnt PCI-e connectors.

We all know where trying to control bad news by banning peope from forums gets a company on the internet. Its not like your forum is the only place where people talk about KNC and report on KNC products and services. KNC already have a reputation for trying to manage bad news and outspoken customers by banning posters and deleting content. If you ban me without warning and just cause, your action will be considered a breach of contract for restricting my access as a KNC customer to product support information and services.

If you have any other examples of my 'bad habit of posting incorrect details as fact' please point them out and I will be happy to debate them with you here on a case by case basis.

Otherwise I will accept your apology for your unfounded accusations.

The 2 for 1 RMA replacements are defective units.  They have die issues but are supposed to give the performance of 1 cube.  I personally think they should build a little good will and send out 2 for 1 new units when they are available, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.
