Is ok 2 psu 850 watt each one for 1 Titan??
Gold
The above is all when using 120V input, because, uh...well, because my kill-a-watt power meter only works on 120V.

Wanna know a secret? Your kill-a-watt also works on 240v, you just need to make the female end of your 240v line 5-15R.  Grin

'zat so?  This one like is pictured here?

http://www.p3international.com/products/p4400.html

I thought for sure that mine would kaboom if I tried that, but I may give that idear some more thought now...

Think it thru first.
The 120VAC killawatt is designed for the neutral and ground pins to BOTH be at ground.
The large pin on 120VAC plug is neutral BTW.
If I were to try this I would only run one 240VAC wire thru the killawatt.
(either 240 wire, both wires are HOT and you only need one wire to measure current)
If you run both 240VAC wires thru the killawatt the ground pin on the killawatt 'might' end up HOT and be a potential shock hazard.

It's doable, just not a good first project with 240VAC!
(unless you understand what is NOT explained in detail)

YMMV

or is it a dead issue till the flushing/stale shares problems is fixed on firmware 1.05

Flush latency is still a huge problem on the Titan. KNC have acknowledged the problem and have been trying to fix it for a long time now. They claim to have reduced it from 8 seconds to 4 seconds in 1.05.

If you want to see the impact of this problem try p2pool mining with its 10 second shares, solo mine fast block time coins like VIA, or even aim your piece at Nicehash and see what happens to your reject rates.

Titan performance on coin switching pools will depend on the mix of specific coins being mined and pool switching behavior wrt difficulty adjustments. Switching pools that don't include fast block time coins and allow fixed difficulty settings will probably have better results on a Titan than others without these characteristics. Mining a coin like LTC on most pools with appropriate difficulty settings will be unproblematic if you have enough working dies Smiley

Last time I tried solo mining VIA the Titan fell flat on the floor and would not get up. I had to restart it ...

Just as a reminder to anyone who has tried to cancel their order, just because KnC are scrabbling around trying to release firmware updates and paint a picture of success on their news releases, it doesn't change the fact that they have previously admitted this device is limited to where it can function (cannot actually be used for all scrypt applications), which runs contrary to the sales description so once you have notified them that you are cancelling on the basis that they have not met their performance obligations, there is no more wiggle-room for them to keep stringing you along on the basis that they'll eventually fix these performance problems.

They missed the boat, the units weren't as specified. Dangling a 'soon' scrypt-n carrot in front of people's noses now smacks of desperation.

If they had any sense they'd accept a slight-smaller profit and mine in their arctic data centre with these units and do the decent thing of refunding people who have instructed them to cancel the order.

I agree complete. KNC are shipping a product which does not meet advertized specs. With Vertcoin moving to Lyra-2, the scrypt-n carrot won't be worth much by the time it gets here, even if it is included in 1.06.

The scrypt-n announcement always smacked of desperation to me too, as are all the bullshit 'As we are KNC we reserve the right to over deliver' swagger and bravado. They've fallen from grace. Like the Titan when it tries to mine VIA, I doubt if they will be able to get up off the floor without a hard reset.

Personally I am surprised there isn't more anger about batch 2 pricing and delivery (400+MH/s for $3000 less than batch 1, 1 month after batch 1 finishes shipping). Batch 1 customers will never recover the $3000 difference in the month between batch 1 and batch 2. Its a kick in the teeth to batch 1 customers.

KNC have lost their decency and dignity.

KNC have lost their decency and dignity.
They never had any.

they treated me right up to the point bitcoinrama quit the company of knc in some manner (i suspect he had to sign NDA)

my other guess..and I mean guess is it was because instead of giving us modules as promised..they kept them

for themselves....I shoulda caught on then.. but was kicking ass with the Jupiter at 900 usd a coin or some such

heady times

but yeah they HAD ethics and when it came to big bucks (some have said 200 million 1st year) they caved and
went all BFL...

what makes it worse imho is you now can't trust ANY asic mnfg not to do the same

but then again for us 2013 purchasers it almost makes it worse..they HAD passed certain tests on product/refunds/etc

then yeah 'stab in the back' ...but it does look at the very least they are just kinda/sorta going thru the motions

all the folk making and testing the physical product there will likely lose job....it will all go call service or some such

with virtual miners

anyway all the above is just me speculating...but man .....live an learn to watch your ass I guess

quite the case study in greed

No. They are crooks since the beginning.
You missed the Super-FrankenJups and the burning Neptunes ?

They just were successful in making you believe their marketing bullshit.
Their intention is, since the early days, to get datorhalls crowd funded not to provide you with good mining hardware.

Why did they limit the Jupiter Batches last year when they would have been able to sell (with a nice profit margin) at least 10x more hardware ?
Because it would have decreased KnC's mining-profits. There's no other reason.

I gave it some thought, and went ahead and tried it.  (I wired it as you might expect, with each flat prong connected to a leg, and the round prong connected to ground.)

While it did not "kaboom" like I thought it might, it does appear to be quite confused and not give correct readings.

With the Titan running full blast, it reports:

Volts: 174.4
Hertz: 120
Amps: 6.68
Watts: 440
Volt-Amps: 1167
Power Factor: 0.37

Of these values, only the Amps measure appears to be correct.

Oh well.  At least it survived the experiment.

that could have been their evil intent last fall 2013.but again all evidence was to the contrary the perfect scam indeed..but hard to
protect yourself when the evidence is in one camp and then it was all a plot and they turn the tables ...which is likely what they if not
planned to do ..did so when it served their self interest above and beyond what I would consider ethical and legal

What speeds are you guys getting if you overclock a titan to 325mhz?  and do you change your voltage settings too?

I have 1 bad die turned off (may tweak it later but just don't have time off and on away from the house)

and 1 die that SLOWLY seems to be getting more voltage and stable as the system stays up (another tweak)

both above same cube

all my other cubes seem to be doing like 10% or better then they should...way over spec...from what  I've been told and all other 3 cubes are golden

so I'm getting with the OLD firmware v1.05 about 308gh ave on www.ghash.io LTC/Dodge pool with difficulty setting of 8192
(no idea what putting 8192 in does on ghash.io... my Titan just chugs along from a starting difficulty of 0 each hicup/power down/ or reboot anyway
and self adjusts slowly up whatever difficulty it seems fit.....goes its own way)

so as Tinkertoy... as these Titans are made/look/seem to me.... (the controller board looks like the $39 buck experiment kit for the raspberry pi...)

and the fact I gained 19gh by shutting that asic out (for now hopefully i can tweak it later) I'm just leaving stuff well enough
alone..it is an act of god it is hashing above 300mh at 308mh consistently with the old firmware 1.05

version 1.10 of the firmware just came out ....I'm gonna be at the back of the line and wait to see how that works for folks  when I install that will see
if the voltage startup issue on that one slow to get going die is resolved at least and the stale share stuff...but not gonna be first in line even if I wanted
to (doubtful) away from house too much till the weekend

but had enough problems just getting this thing up/going/etc ...wasted a whole day trying to get multipool to work on ghash.io
finally everyone told me it just plain don't work
told this to Keith on KNC forums he then in public posting (and it is still on main page) says multipool works just fine on ghash.io (only one I've heard say such
he says you can do other alt coins sheesh.......by the by the forum over there looks like a train wreck of folks with broken toys probably 1 guy an
hour gets on with  a Titan unbootable or some such...me I get PM's from folks on their saying I'm very lucky only have 1 die
down and 3 cubes working as that seems to be the top of the heap .at least only 2 out of 10 ..or so it seems

HOPEFULLY (vain hope indeed) but HOPEFULLY  this version 1.10 fixes all and they can rush off and finish up as they state Scrypt N
for the Titan..

but man I really hate touching the thing.....feel like I'm trying to juggle hummingbirds w/o getting them dizzy..

you can kinda tell the original warranty was for 90 days don't ya know (now all is a 1 year at least 1st batch 300mh ones) on how they made these things

I will take at this point anything over 300mh that stays up and call it a win....and not spontaneously turn into a brick  (by my actions or by itself out of spite for my
asci verbal abuse in its presence)

Below is being shown (as a guess imho) as a training video for all current KNC employees
on how to justify going from being a reputable asic manufacturer to what they have
become today....

the key finding by KNC management is their best kept management secret...(there
is some controversy this video was originally part of BFL training but that is another thread)

I give you ......ta dah!...the video that allows them to live with themselves today vs
the company they were yesterday!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=857111.new#new

It is sad how the above video is probably a lot closer to the mark then I am comfortable with!

I'm lurking around waiting for some feedback on the v1.10 upgrade...if it is just smoke/mirrors I will wait longer....shocked the TinkerToy
is at 308mh on ghash.io on LTC/Dodge pool..It has 1 die shut off and the another die same cube has interment voltage drops ...the other
cubes are doing more then they should from what I can tell at 300mh settings (stock) maybe by as much as 10%....so leaving it alone
anything over 300mh for this somewhat dubious miner is a gift from what I can tell on www.kncminer.com forums others are getting for
broke equipment

so will sit on hands till more info and hopefully get further lucky tweaking dies above this weekend

what burns me is on knc forum they admit the 1st batch chips are flaky and not up to snuff still no compensation of any kind
without going back on their no refund policy....must be nice to have it all your way when your product is broken....wtf ship it anyway!.
my unit was 7 weeks late and I was in the middle of the 1st batch orders...as far as I know they are still only shipping first batch Titans...(Huh?)

I mean are people even gonna get their free titan or free neptune this year?

well that is news that they are now shipping the 2nd batch Titans out...that was quick huh.... Smiley

Is this 2nd batch titan really giving you 400mh or are you in the same boat as the rest of us with this firmware?

any other tidbits appreciated......

I still think (bored) I should get 4 guys together get an IN HAND Titan off ebay for like say 3200 usd in the near
future say a couple weeks....split the unit up fairly and sell the controller board back on ebay and also split $$$

the catch is we could end up with 4 cubes that did not work....or some such due to their quality control issues imho

but hey its a toy now...as close as I will get to having an unnecessary luxury item as the very rich
(oh that old sports car..I just drive it on Easter)

ahh.....thats the way to look at it.....use the No Refund No ROI Titan as a monument to my conspicuous consumption
a show of stupid wealth....act rich and eccentric (well at least the rich part)

(ie lie that I was doing it all to decentralize the network from large Swedish type data mining halls taking over)

thats my story and i'm sticking to it! Smiley

(oh the Titan..that old thing...oh ...I got it as an interesting door stop back in 2014 don't ya know
......you can never spend enough on a quality door stop)
