Because bitcoin has really faster transaction than fiat and it doesnt charge you a huge amount of money.Though when it comes to legality fiat really wins over bitcoin but still bitcoin is better than fiat.

People prefere Bitcoin over fiat because it gives em freedom fiat doesnt. Who wants to gable, should gamble, who wants to watch and pay for porn, should be able to do just that, and if youw ant to buy drugs for yourself, feel free to do it. It's your body, your responsability and your decision. You should be free to do it if your freedom is not limiting freedoms of others around you.
Satoshi build Bitcoin so we can have freedom. It's really sad to see how people still do not understand that and are happy to limit themselves inside boxes others created for them.

Lol it's not a misuse of currency, people are free to do anything with their money and it's not that the tjinh you mentioned above is the only use of bitcoin. People also use bitcoin for other things such as buying games, vpn or bills in some country. |

Don't know because where i live, holding bitcoins is no different from having gold. Saving bitcoin to wait for an expensive price in the future.

It has difference from holding gold for sure because if you will hold bitcoin then it is more volatile and you can easily see some fast changes in your portfolio like frequent gain or loss in your portfolio but if you will hold it for long term then you can assure yourself that you will get income and not a loss because that is how powerful bitcoin is. |

Some people prefer bitcoin over fiat because on some places bitcoin is tax free. I guess it's not bad to use bitcoin for something as long as you're not breaking any law/rules from your place. There's much more misuses of btc but if we continue this discussion it's getting kinda off topic when the title is about bitcoin and fiat.

I think that's what will drop the bitcoin in the future. because certainly in every country prohibits the existence of porn and gambling. I really do not like to see people who abuse bitcoin |

Some use it that way but i bet btc is created by the founder not because of that reason. I also hate the way they uses it except in gaming. I have tried these and I don't think adding this up will degrade the detrimental percíeption on bitcoin. I think that the greatest thing that makes btc name more ugly instead that you will think of trading and great opportunities are: Those scams circulating arpund the internet world that uses bitcoin name. They even been circulating around 10x greater than this forum does. |

"Misuse". I want you to be aware that the whole world is full of misused things. The guns are only to catch criminals and not to kill the innocents. We even have a law for that and the equivalent punishment is a huge one, yet we see a lot of innocent lives taken away by the terrorists and sometimes by the government itself. You invent one thing, you think that it will be used for the common good and all. But the society is different. One flaw and something is abused. You can create something for one purpose but people will end up doing it for a far different purpose. Don't know because where i live, holding bitcoins is no different from having gold. Saving bitcoin to wait for an expensive price in the future.
I think gold and bitcoin are two different things and just because bitcoin is starting to seem to have a solid foundation, doesn't mean we can use the term "gold" for it. Gold is a mineral and it will continue to have value unless someone found a better element which is a lot less scarce. I think we should have discovered that by now if such exists. Gold has a steady price and I don't think it's going to pump any time soon. On the other hand, bitcoin doesn't have a steady price. It's purely a speculative asset. It can be sky rocketing today but tomorrow you might wake up with the price of bitcoin significantly lower. The market is manipulated by the big players unlike gold which is really based on supply/demand since it actually has an application or a use in real life. |

But still depends on a person or users. But lets do hope they will implement rules and suspension for those who hold abuse bitcoin. |

That's why fiat and bitcoin have different advantages. Bitcoin can be dominant as online payment currency while fiat still will be the king of physical transactions since it can be used even without internet. Some people prefer bitcoin over fiat not because of that advantages honestly but majority is because of the profit that bitcoin can give on a long run. |

I prefere bitcoin more than fiat specially when we are tslking about investments since it has larger return and the chance of more boost in worth in the long term. It is also far more practical to use than fiat because it can be send out anyplace as lonh as there is bitcoin wallet.

Unlike fiat currency, bitcoin cannot be inflated away to oblivion. Fiat currency can be printed by whatever amounts the authorities deem necessary, and sometimes their decisions are arbitrary. Bitcoin on the other hand is mathematically hard-coded. Bitcoin is also decentralized, meaning that no central bank can control it. The opposite is true with fiat currencies.

I believe some folks favor Bitcoin simply because of it is anonymity, whatsoever their function for acquiring bitcoin or whatever they will do with it, it's up to them. The thing is that it's the homeowners purpose on what you are going to do with it I just hope it truly is not illegal or some thing because that's what offers people to say that Bitcoin is undesirable.

Bitcoin is made for the benefit of people who use it and it isn't made for illegal purposes. But what can we do? No one can dictate how another person uses his btc. It's his own coins so it's his decision how to make use of it. But it doesn't mean that btc is bad just because it is being used illegally. Money is useful but it's also used illegally for so many years. It just happens that btc offers anonymity which makes it an easy target for the bad guys. |
