ckpool.org

you really need to understand  what these sticks are good for.

they are lottery tickets and you should only mine on pools that pay you extra for hitting the block.

http://solo.ckpool.org/  if you hit the block  you win the whole block        should take more then 100 years for you to win
mmpool.org                 if you hit the block  you win all the transaction fees  but if someone else hits the block you get  some coin
bravo-mining.com        if you hit the block you get 1 btc bonus but if someone else hits the block you get some coin

Mine are pointed to bravo-mining

the ones below will pay but no big prize for hitting the block

https://bitminter.com/

https://bitminter.com/blocks they hit a block in sept 2018

http://ckpool.org/  long wait  but you will get some coin.

I actually have similar experience with n_p, have got 2 sticks mining for quite some time but the pools I have tried so far haven't been reliable. Could you suggest any pools for mining SHA256 altcoins?

The latest vh/gekko build of cgminer does not report the date like that. You can download the most recent version here: http://23.108.83.14/images/cgminer-4.11.1-windows-gekko-90e7d31.7z (or as seen in this post from vh: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5053833.msg48080800#msg48080800)

Hi

I've just set up 2 2PACs and added some very big heatsinks to see if I can run them at 300mHz without a fan. It all seems to go well but I'm getting a few HW errors about 3 an hour. What kind of rate is reasonable to get should I be going for 0?

A couple of the prototype big sinks

When testing at stock settings before shipping, I was generally satisfied with no more than 2 errors per hour. The bigger thing to consider is if your measured hashrate is within about 99% of expected.

Thanks for that a bit of tweaking it about 1.5 Seems spot on at 66,992 MHash/Second when the 2 are combined.

Hello,
I am in need of help to get startet with mining bitcoins using cgminer and bitcoin core-qt.
I gave in to read through these 106 pages but got stuck even on page 1...
Do I have to use and install the named software on page 1 before running cgminer???
It`s nearly impossible to get a german step by step video or advice.
I bought 2 modified 2Pacs (with fan) and want to set them up.
I installed already the WinUSB with Zadig and it works on windows 7 and when the 2Pac is unplugged cgmier shows that the USB device is missing...
I installed the latest version of cgminer 4.11.1. and tried the command line as a selfcreated .bat and .conf file, both didn`t work.
But I don`know whats the problem, maybe my wallet (no segwit support)Huh I am using Exodus...!?
I want to start solo mining on ck`s "pool" (de.ckpool.org:3333 or 443), whatever will work.

Is somebody able to help an absolute beginner with a step by step advice, links or pages to get forward???

Greetings from Germany to the whole cgminer and gekkoscience community!!!!!

Hello, Warm welcome to the forums:)

You said:
"I installed already the WinUSB with Zadig and it works on windows 7"
What works?

"when the 2Pac is unplugged cgmier shows that the USB device is missing..."
Well, if it's unplugged, it can't do any mining, right?

"I installed the latest version of cgminer 4.11.1. and tried the command line as a selfcreated .bat and .conf file, both didn`t work."
What exactly didn't work? Provide screenshot, tell us exactly what you expected to happen and what is really happening.

What I would say at this point, is that you do the following:
plug in stick miner
Open Zadig
Replace driver in Zadig as per instruction
Then run cgminer. With miner plugged in.

Please run steps above and tell us your results. Good luck Smiley

Hello.

I've been trying to build cgminer on Ubuntu for a while now.

The problem is when I try
Code:
 CFLAGS="-O2 -march=native" ./autogen.sh --enable-gekko
it returns
Code:
 bash: ./autogen.sh: Permission denied
and when I try sudo CFLAGS ... I get
Code:
 sudo: ./autogen.sh: command not found

I have gotten
Code:
 sudo sh ./autogen.sh --enable-gekko
to work but then no makefile appears and make -j 2 returns
Code:
make: ***  No targets specified and no makefile found.  Stop.

I'm pretty new to this so if you guys could help that would be great

I've reinstalled autogen and autoconf.

What's the work source you have running on localhost? Make sure that's set up correctly, which won't be in the hardware section.

That's incredibly vague and therefore useless. Have you tested the mystery work source with anything else to verify it's configured correctly?

Please tell me your command line doesn't literally say "localhost:port".

Sounds like the execute permission of files in the folder were lost during transit.
The permission mask was likely lost in a directory copy; or the local git configuration is broken.   Remove the folder completely and proceed from the git clone line again.

Let me do a newbie question, please sorry if it's a too dumb question.

Would it be possible to change the firmware ( or something else ) of the 2Pac GekkoScience to mine with a different algorithm? Like Scrypt?

For firmware, not likely, the 2pac is an ASIC. Meaning its designed specifically for a single algorithm and this is hard coded into the hardware during manufacturing. They could release another version of the 2pac with different a algorithm but the one you already have will remain as is.

No. That is not how firmware works and there is nothing else you can change on the 2PAC to change its algorithm.

Yes and yes.  These Bitcoin ASICs are application specific to Bitcoins.

Long answer:

Logically bitcoin hashing involves a double SHA256: SHA(SHA(x)).

Dear All,
i have got some odd issue with gekko Science U10 SHA256,
i have got three of these are connected on USB power HUH. but Cgminer is only detecting on USB miner
can anyone please help on it
thanks
bye

But most application specific one does a: SHA(m [+ s] + MODIFIEDSHA(w + n)) and checks for leading zero then returns n.
  m=pool created midstate,
s=driver created partial sha (chip specific),
  w=driver created leaftover from x,
  n=chip created nonce

Which results in logically a SHA(SHA(x)) at the pool.

Short answer:

They are hard wired and not programmable in any way.

Your hub doesn't have enough amp per port to run multiples i suspect. Can you post specs or a link to the product your using?
