I just have bought my ever first bitcoin. Not that much though (not preferred to share). I have had researched on bitcoin since January 2018 but didn't dare to invest in. I spent a hour or two daily on it to learn about it. Today, I have deposited a large amount of my savings and purchased bitcoin. I can feel the ride.
Since you have been "studying" BTC for nearly a year and a half, you may have established a dollar cost averaging plan, too, beside merely injecting a bunch of capital at one price point? Do you have any further tentative strategies that you are willing to share? You could share some of the outlines of such tentative strategies without necessarily disclosing too many personal details. What if that account is actually THE brand new account with a nickname (not his real name)?
The cynic in me says people know we’re generous Merit givers in this thread. Very convenient a Brand New account makes its first post here saying how they’ve just bought their first bitcoin & oh look, 21 Merit received. Straight to the first signature campaign or bounty requring received Merit to earn money, never to post in the WO again. Hmmmmm! Yep. We do tend to be pretty generous in this thread.

I agree with you that tether serves as a kind of "china bans bitcoin" that continues to deliver.
Tether FUD will not be forgotten, as long as it continues to work.
How is it "FUD" if everyone here can see Bitfinex and Tether are operating wide out in the open as a criminal entity? Being affiliated with HSBC just makes it even more LOL. As if it wasn't obvious the first time they STOLE all customer deposits after trading against their own customers and having the trade go against them during the halving.

Meh, I prefer a weekend PUMP, so let it be. if it just would be that easy +32% over the last 30 days I'd say we are doing alright Accordingly, another 20% correction would not be out of the ordinary, but another 20% correction is not any kind of necessary condition precedent in order for BTC prices to resume up towards testing resistance in the $6,500 to $7,500 price arena.

One Glastonbury the old crusties I was with got increasingly irate at my total indifference...
Aren't you a real RocknRolla then... https://youtu.be/TdpR8VuvbCM?t=15loved the movie, hope it gives some truth to an 'english character'. Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels could be my favorite movie but for some reason I haven't seen this one so I'll have to check it out. That or i forgot, I do that on occasion.

Fast food chain adopts Bitcoin, wants Coca-Cola to be next. TravelbyBit founder and CEO Caleb Yeoh said fast food was a perfect use case for the Lightning Network.
“You can pay with Bitcoin, it’s instant and there are almost no fees,” he said. “It’s only for low value amounts, so if you look at kebab prices, that’s exactly what Lightning is for.” https://micky.com.au/fast-food-chain-adopts-bitcoin-wants-coca-cola-to-be-next/

BTC crashed to $5,000 from $5,500 today, so I cashed in some free Stellar Lumens for some BTC Dip.
I never got mine, I should look into that. You have the contact info?

Finex showing $6.746MM in 30 day volume, assuming 0,2% fee that $13,5MM they make in fees each month. And that doesn't include money they make on lending or interest on their stash. Tether market cap is $2.847MM NY OAG claims they lost $850MM (of their own and clients money) so 30% of all Tether max, i'm sure they'll survive *unless more shit comes up
Hmm... I don't think their liquidity will be doing well - looking at the price increase, people are dumping Tether to buy BTC and presumably trying to get out. Also - not all clients will be paying 0.2% - so income may be lower and expenses are not zero, either. Filling a hole of many hundreds of millions cannot be done without years of all that income going into replace 'lost' capital. As GentlemanD said, the irony is Tether WAS backed up until they lost this large chunk of funds. However, getting any new banking partner now will be nigh-on impossible. Finex are in deep shit and probably in a total spin. Maybe a death spiral. Since they are (basically) profitable, I would think their best bet might be to try to find someone to buy 'em who does have banking sorted out and can float capital in to save the day. But who they gonna call..? Only a couple of candidates exist - and they might think the brand is too toxic. Even at a sale price of $1, which is the likely price for Finex with a hole in the hundreds of millions of USD and a legal case on their back. A bank could do it, but even if it makes financial sense, I can't see them risking running a crypto exchange. Coinbase? Anyone else...? With fast action needed and no time to do proper due diligence? Doubt it. First, Finex need to keep their customers to survive for long enough to find a solution. The chances of doing this with the run for the door already well underway is slim and all the Tethers coming back for redemption won't help. But it's their only hope. The Irony is that it was TPTB blocking them from reputable institutions to hold their reserves is what forced them to deal with a scam bank that ripped them off. Almost like it was a plan. ADDED: Shit can't catch up today, gotta check out and I'm hitting the hottub rather than read this thread!

They will not calm down! How do you like the news on BitcoinSV? CoinGeek Sponsors Ayr United Football ClubAs per the Reuters report on Thursday, Bitcoin SV will sponsor Ayr United for the rest of the current season, as well as the whole of the next season. Founder of CoinGeek, and well known Bitcoin SV advocate Calvin Ayre said this was part of a move to educate people about the ‘original Bitcoin’: “There is an education underway explaining to both the media and everyday folk that BSV is, in fact, the original Bitcoin. People have heard of Bitcoin but don’t yet understand that BSV is the only blockchain following Bitcoin’s original design.”
