Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Fed’s Dudley Warns on Dangerous ‘Speculative Mania’ Around Cryptocurrencies

https://www.wsj.com/articles/feds-dudley-says-puerto-rico-has-difficult-recovery-process-ahead-of-it-1519311605

As I TOLD it  here long time before.. suddenly will crypto "no good" from us fraudsters with 200-300 trillion debt ....  Cheesy Cheesy or other western vassals )))

venezuela will some thing like  test .. for biggest countries like Chinese or Russia..(developers are from them)  they need now before they show own state cryptos or some like this, witch "weapons" (hackers, nsa comp power, trade bans) will use usa against (petro and venezuela)  and analyse for answer.. or just watching for some time..

Seems like they hastily named this new token; Petro because it's backed by petroleum but now Petro gold because it's backed by gold?  IS it a crypto backed by oil and underwritten by gold?

Never thought I'd be able to knock the books down hundreds of dollars with my measly stash. Sure, they're Canadian dollars, but still. Shit is grim.

Are you out? Partially? And... MARKET order?!?!

Ok question for the snowbirds. I know you're here. Is Quadrigacx above board? I have no reason to doubt they are, but I've never trusted then before with large amounts.

I've used them for a few years with no major issues.  Banking is always a problem, but they keep managing to find new ways, so I expect that to continue.

Thanks. They had a real handy debit option at one time. I noticed that's gone now.

Yeah, as is the withdraw to credit card option.

On a side note, I just regained access to my kraken account, after more than a year.  Good thing, 'cause I need that 6 bucks for... Nevermind.  Can't do anything with six bucks on kraken.  not buy crypto, not withdraw, nothing  Cheesy

Yeah, I used to spread it across QCX Bitstamp and Kraken for bigger sells.  That and employ some patience!  Have to wait weeks for the bullshit to settle and get it into your bank account anyway, so just plan on at least a month start to finish (limit orders, you fool!)

No sir, but I'm preparing myself mentally. I believe I've become too emotionally attached to my investment. And I don't think we'll see $12k this year.

Oh... well.... I feel you. I am so emotionally attached to my investment that I can't even dare to think about selling it all. Anyways, my target is much longer than 1 year. Time will tell.

Oh ye of little faith.

I did cancel my sell order @ $12.5k tho.

Gonna chill out for the next few days and see how things are looking Monday.

Mmm. Beer...

I had faith at $400. At $9k I think Wall street is toying with me. I ain't mad at it. But still..

The earlier Finex get swatted and the happier I will be.
Until then, we are their bitches.

https://i.imgur.com/If1JKFPg.png

What the fuck you talking about with your bullshit nonsense?

What? I've got personally scammed by them when they got "hacked". Funny thing is that I had mostly USD on Finex at the time and the "theft" was of BTC, so they personally provided to steal two thirds of my USD themselves to make up for their "loss".

So fucking what?

Can you get over your personal animosity and try to appreciate the whole situation more objectively.

I don't know what you are talking about 2/3 loss blah blah blah...

Whatever value was on Bitfinex at the time of the hack was socialized, and that was a 36% take from them and tokens were given that you could sell or end up holding for  about 7 months when they paid it all back... Yeah, sure it may have been a bit questionable, but it was also potentially innovative too... I had money on there too, at that time.

And don't get me started with scamtethers, their admission of insider trading and whatnot. If something happens with tethers or other shady dealings at Finex a panic of Goxing level may happen, not only for the possibly fictional 2 billions USDT.

Hasn't this FUD been beaten to death?  And, yeah right it is comparable to MTGOX, right....  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

But you are welcome keeping your holdings there, maybe think twice before covering their ass.

I thought that you were making a bitcoin system-wide problem and now your are turning it into some kind of personal bias issue...?  My main point is that you seem to be exaggerating the impact of one exchange, and you have little to no evidence or logic to be backing up your nonsensical exaggerated seemingly FUD spreading claims.

I was kicked off of Bitfinex more than half a year ago, because I have USA connections, so I do not have money there..... although I would still be using it, if they had not kicked me off of their platform.

Anyhow, my main point is that you are just spreading nonsense with your attempt to assert that Bitfinex has any kind of meaningful impact on the space as if bitcoin could not absorb whatever possible shenanigans they are playing, if they are.

Above board yes but they have issues lately.

Cash Delivery takes about a week, 3 - 4 days before they send it and they will give you a tracking number that won't even ship for another two days. Like they think you'll be fooled by getting a tracking number.

Don't bother paying the extra fee for express bank transfer, it takes the same time as regular - 8 - 10 business days.

If you have an offshore account find another exchange (my current challenge) They will not send transfers to banks that use an intermediary.

Withdraw to visa is gone
Interac transfer is gone

Fees are high

Not sure how relevant this is to anything, as I am only now 5 minutes in, but the guy makes fun of swedes and makes a case for chimps being smarter than the average human, so: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tdzuHFwbBU

Google the IQ of Koko the Gorilla and then Google the average IQ in the Congo.

Today, I learned.  Cool
