yey just 2 blocks in 1 minute  wtf? shut the hell up p2pminers are unionized, if they hear you talking about luck they'll take the week off. lol why should they We do not use the L word here and do not talk about it in any round about ways. Usually when someone does mention it, things go badly. Yeah the problem there is that there are some people who actually believe that the text placed on this forum can negatively affect the pseudo-random distribution of bits coming out of a fixed non-random mathematical equation  Kano, stop spreading FUD. I have luck charms for sale and you're ruining my market. how much per "luck charm" I'll sell you a luck charm for your soul. Bulk rates apply if you have more than one soul. Hmm. I'm running Win7 64bit with 12gb of RAM and a 3 core 3.0ghz processor and P2Pool is always losing connection to bitcoind. What can I do to keep bitcoin running properly?
edit I created a symbolic link to the Bitcoin folder in appdata and moved the blockchain stuff to a faster drive in my computer. I'll see if this helps.

Open task manager and drop bitcoin priority to below normal. |

I have linux VM w/2GB ram running two p2pools and 5 xCoind`s w/o any trouble  Try exclude bitcoin and p2pool directory form virus scanning. |

Since moving the blockchain I haven't had any errors so far. I think it was caused by my c:\ drive being an old IDE drive I stuck in as a replacement when my SATA one failed a couple months ago.

Yes, there's a bug that Smoovius reported on the Litecoin P2Pool, which would also apply to the Bitcoin one. P2Pool's memory usage can grow without bound after a fork like this if you maintain connections to people mining on both forks. P2Pool is unable to forget about the children of the root node that connects the two forks, due to that operation simply not being implemented. (I assumed that one fork would always lose eventually, resulting in a linear chain whose last node can be forgotten about.) Anyway, it's fixed in git, and after some more testing, I'll release v9 and the switchover will be triggered when v9 becomes popular. Restarting P2Pool after the switch would have been enough to fix this, but many people don't have something auto-restarting P2Pool if it crashes or even check up on it often. The switchover happened on the Litecoin P2Pool about a week ago, and went flawlessly other than this issue. |

Odd, I wasu sure that "final fork" will be automagically in 24hrs from version switch ("old" chain forgot).
Good that huge memory consumer was found.
In fact, I did not noticed that bug on my LTC node ;]

Some people, such as myself, can't really afford the high bandwidth usage of running a node. That's the main reason I switched pools. |
