Excuse my Linux noobness, but what's the command line syntax used to integrate this fix into p2pool? I've tried the "git pull" request using the link above from within the p2pool folder but I get an error - so I presume I'm doing it wrong....... Thanks. I've not done it this way often, but I think you'd use: git pull https://github.com/roy7/p2pool vardiffbyaddress or git pull https://github.com/iongchun/p2pool auto-worker-diff Depending on which you wanted to pull in. What way do you usually do it? I mean, there must be an official way of merging these requests locally. I've had a read of this: https://help.github.com/articles/merging-a-pull-request but the "command line" tab it refers to is not there....... Thanks.

Yes, I agree!!
Should I add to my username +1024 for each of my miners? I am using several AntMinerS1 all with the same wallet address. What do you think?
I'd like to see some more informed members reply to this, however it is my understanding that allowing P2Pool to dynamically set your difficulty is a more efficient choice. You're probably right, since I have changed it to +1024 my predicted payout has dropped... http://p2pool.integratedideas.net:9332/static/Local rate: 70.6GH/s You can use the automatic User: Your BTC address Pass: x If the speed of the mining machine > 1TH/s User: Your BTC address+1024 Pass: x

Well for the patches I've written, I have to fork the repo into my own name on github, make a branch, push the changes to the branch, and then submit the pull request to the maintainer. I'm pretty sure what I provided will work as expected though.

This command worked for me. It wanted my email address and asked me to write a pull request message. I'm running a public altcoin p2pool, let's see how this works.

You've replaced the listed files with the ones from the auto-worker-diff tag.

Thanks mdude, I do have 9333 forwarded and allowed also. They are all TCP ports right? if I telnet to 9333 on pool.norgzpool.net.au I see a response also. Everything sounds right to me. It's probably just a matter of time. Although I have 1 incoming connection on my node now... and it's been up for 5 hours. M ok thanks, I've just restarted it with logging and max conns set to 20. maybe that will make it do something lol will see how it goes. After this setting and leaving it overnight I've seen incoming connections now. Not sure as no networking has changed but at least now I see expected connections Again, if anyone wants to give it a bit of a run it'd be appreciated. Just use your Bitcoin addy to collect directly to your wallet. Stats look pretty good but would like to run some more hashing power over it to see what it's capable of. (the server is a quad core with 7gb ram so should perform well).

If more node ops commit to putting merged mining income back into the pool, maybe we can get more users and hence more hashrate. M

Not sure how to best track that though. What have you done with yours? BTW I am trying to change the look of those svg graphs, is there any docco on where and how to change those things? I can't for the life of me find anywhere to change that ugly black fill. Been spending some time on the front end so it's looking much better but still a lot of work to go. I am currently running the windows binary but considering running from code and maybe tweaking some of it. my coding skills a pretty limited though.

How does P2Pool handle log file management as far as size/time goes?
In a short time my log has grown to 83.9MB, is their a point where it is truncated or will it just keep growing?

Thats why I never know how big shares miner founds, i ssh to miner and with command nohup cgminer --real-quiet > /dev/null 2>&1 & I newer know nothing...

Not sure what you mean? The basic interface shows this right at the top: Pool rate: 358TH/s (16% DOA+orphan) Share difficulty: 1140000 Also listed in there links to "my shares" right above blocks found in last day. Those links show the values of the shares you submitted. M
