yuip, that's for an s1, your s2 would have a different figure. 963 isn't too bad, when you have 1th/s 40gh/s isn't much but it's 40gh/s you would otherwise have generating coin.

Have not updated the cgminer on S1 form Kano yet but when I added back my S1 to the node. I went from 0 orphans and 0 dead shares to 5 and 1 after adding the S1. Could the S1 actually be causing an issue on my node? address/0+197.2 is what I am using for S1.

Also what hash rate should I trust what I see on antminer status page or what I see on the node? very different.

Everyone can keep the donation rate high by encouraging all the bitcoin businesses they know to join the 1% decentralized club (makeshift banner on that reddit thread). If they donate 1% of their weekly profits (or whatever is reasonable), p2pool will be the most attractive decentralized mining pool by far. I wrote the tool due to a request from a business operator who wanted to do just that.

If you wanted you could use the official cgminer to check the S1s stats from your PC or laptop, you could do ./cgminer-api summary IP_OF_YOUR_ANTS1 or cgminer-api stats IP_OF_YOUR_ANTS1

Everyone that is running a node with a custom interface and navigation should add a link to http://blisterpool.com/p2pdonate and also promote it on twitter, Facebook, Reddit and the forums.  Maybe comment on any of the CEX.io/GHash.io 51% threads to promote it and p2pool.

Not everyone can run a p2pool node or mine on a public node, but everyone in our community could contribute a few Satoshi here and there to help incentivize miners to join p2pool and decentralize the BTC network further.

One possible idea I can give you would be to add an indicator to suggest when the timing of a donation would provide the best incentive to p2pool miners. If donations are made on the same day p2pool finds 5-6 blocks, the situation could inspire a "quit while the going's good" attitude for someone who's getting anxious to switch to a low variance pool. If an indicator (red-orange-green maybe?) were to discourage donating until "last block found" goes significantly above the "time to block", there could be an improvement in the variance over long periods of time.

Hopefully enough donators might follow a timing indicator that it could really smooth out the variance as it's directly experienced by p2poolers.

I'm not sure how much everyone gets, but please remember that (IIRC) currently the standard fee is 0.0002 BTC for every kB of data needed to store a transaction in the blockchain. IIRC simply transferring a single input transaction to another address costs 200-300B. So If you receive 0.00004 BTC or less, you won't be able to spend any of it with conventional means (they would completely disappear into fees). I've received transactions below that level... Maybe the tool should check how much BTC would be wasted into such dust before letting people donate.

I checked my errors all my S1 and the S2 are very low 0.000xxxx%.

My node hash rate varies from just under 1TH to 1.19TH (S1 not oc and S2 not oc) antminer average is 170GHS for S1 and 963GHS for S2. Tried the Kano update on S1 and see no difference.

Probably coincidence but ever since I added the S1 to the node I have get more orphans and DOA then with just the S2.

My EFF varies between 100 and 109% but was 115+ after 3.5days.

I noticed some of the peers on my outgoing connections don't ping or have ping times 100ms+, I found some nodes that ping under 30ms, should I be adding them with --p2pool-node?

Interesting idea, although I worry that donators may not have the patience to keep checking back to see if it's it's been a long time since the last block. It might just stop them donating when lots of blocks have been found, and reduce their overall donations over time. Do you think this will be a problem?

I agree it'd be nice to smooth variance out, but I think that will also work if we attract as many businesses to 1% decentralization as possible, with weekly donations at all random times. Even if payments get grouped up so a period of time seems donation lucky, overall it should mean there is less "super luck" during the week where you get lots of blocks and lots of donations at the same time. It's possible, but the chance should be lower than just looking at p2pool luck, shouldn't it?

I'm very conscious of this and have been trying to figure out what the best default/minimum cutoff should be (0.0001 only goes to about 13 miners with 0.01btc, the typical donation amount, 113 with 0.00001). The bitcoin reference wallet lets you now choose which inputs you want to put, so you can very easily reroute dust payments below the transaction fee (0.0001 per kb) to a new address, or combine dust with larger inputs. Ultimately, you can see it as the donations might save you a fee if you pick the right inputs for a larger payment (1 larger and 4 dust payments - almost no fee on the larger one).

What work is the dev here doing exactly? Last p2pool update of any note was over a year ago, he hardly ever posts on his own thread - in fact his last post was about getting p2pool info back up in a day or two - that was weeks ago & it's still offline.

As for the "for free" thing - he's collecting donations from 100's of p2pool users. Dev here needs a kick up the ass - if he's no longer interested in developing p2pool or putting p2pool.info back online, he should say so, instead of just sitting back & watching the donations roll in.

What are you - his personal speaker? How's about the dev actually say something himself instead of relying on his blinded worshippers to cover his back.

P2pool was a fantastic step two or three years ago - now it's out of date & neglected.
