Hey guys,
I ordered 3 Antminer L3+ and 2 APW3++. On their description it says 1 APW3++ can power two antminers L3+ given that your voltage is 220V. I sent them a message to confirm this and they told me "no it can only power 1 antminer L3+". After some back and forth emailing she gave me the impression she didn't know a lot about the products. Has anyone ordered any APW3++? can each of them power two antminers?
Thanks!
CVL
If it's connected to 220V and have 18 PCIe connectors interface type, Yes! It can power 2 L3+... She is confused because of the version for sale right now (with 10 PCIe connectors).

Is it a good idea to power 2 L3+ (800W each) with a 1600W PSU?

exactly my thoughts, seems kind of sketchy running a cheap foreign made PSU at 100% or more -- I wouldn't do it How long before some dummy overclocks them and starts drawing more than 1600w. Sounds like a recipe for disaster

Did you even read my post above about this PSU case?
Also I wouldn't call them cheaply made, APW3 psu's have been quite reliable and got some good parts inside if you have a look inside.

If it's an ATX PSU the answer is: NO. If it's a bitmain/server PSU the answer is: maybe (but not recommended to run 24/7).

Experience tells me you don't try to pull 1600w through a 1600w PSU on a 24/7 basis and I don't care if it is a server PSU. When I spec servers I NEVER spec a machine that is going to draw the max the PSU can supply even if I am working with redundant power supplies. You just don't do it when you spec out your servers so I see no reason I would do it with a miner. Frankly I would have to look, but I bet my servers don't get hit has hard consistently as these miners do on a 24/7 basis.
So spec out a PSU and run it at 100% 24/7? I just won't do it. These PSU's compared to buying a PC PSU is really affordable. Why risk damage, fire, or injury for something as inexpensive as these PSU's? One miner, one PSU and call it good. Just my 2 satoshi...

I agree... I'd not run it above 80% 24/7 in any scenario (even with Bitmain's or server PSU). 1 miner/PSU is the way to go.

Like I said someone going to overclock them 10-20%, I'd just go with one per each psu
main reason I didn't go with it is I run the rear fan at 100% off the psu and can't do that with these bitmain psu's that I am aware of
If you haven't noticed the L3+ fan controller is buggy. I happened to catch them overheating while both fan rpms showing zero, sure they reset but they reset into the same buggy state -- over & over until the board burns up -- saw it happen a couple times, once on auto fan control another time on 75% -- so you can have your cheap bitmain psu's feeding their buggy bitmain fan controller.
oh by time the board actually shuts down & resets the temp is actually over 120c, so the 80c cutoff doesn't do much, it's not an instantaneous shut down and it's not a failsafe
a few of those cycles and your board will be shot

Thanks for collaboration with your experience. It's always good to have a realistic point of view of who are already running L3+/PSU. Is anyone here already using the APW3++?

Hey guys,
I wanted to ask if the antminers L3+ genereate a lot of heat? I live in the Middle East and I have 3 miners coming at the end of August. Here the electricity is quite cheap (.06 USD/kw-hour) ,but it's hot as hell so I think I would need to keep them cool with Air Conditioning. Do you guys think that's possible? or is it a losing battle?

Do you guys have any reply from Bitmain Support lately? I ordered some L3+ from July Batch with PSU (shipping 10 days after payment) and I have not received the PSU yet. If they send it together fair enough, but a day after I bought the PSU was "sold out" and now the new one arrived. I am not sure What to think after it clearly stated shipping within 10 days.... I contacted Bitmain 2 times in the last 10 days and I have not received ANY reply... Does anyone have the same problems? I am exactly the same !! Contacted bitmain and the guy didn't understand what i was actually saying to him, the fact the PSU should have been here like 2 months ago....

With this many machines being sold and everyone trying to jump in mining ltc, how long do you guys think would l3+ still be profitable? I will be ordering 2 from the next batch, which probably will ship by the end of september, and planning to increase the number of miners up to 30 with the revenue I make. Only after then I will be converting my coins to usd... But does anyone have a speculation of if this plan is viable? A few weeks back, L3+ made a profit over $1K per month and now it already is around $950... That is somewhat disappointing but of course, expected. Even after owning 30 miners, my revenue might be below $20K per month if it goes down this fast I guess. I actually might never get to 30 miners with difficulty rising so fast So, what do you guys think?

But to make it short, no-one knows if its worth it or not. I would love to know how it will be 3-5 months from now. And BTW the power consumption is 880W
