anyone else notice a sharp drop in nicehash profitibilty today for scrypt mining? My dashboard is showing a drop of 50% ... this is crazy!!

The nicehash profit calculator still reports profits of $1600/mo for one L3+ which is twice it's actual profits ($800/mo).

Has something happened to nicehash? You're not the first to report this today.

Guys, if you scroll through several of the online Calculators, most of them do NOT have the correct difficulty entered in their spread sheets. The online calculators are the worst I've ever seen them. Check them manually.

I have 16 L3+ machines connected to nicehash ... was getting profitibility of 0.14-0.16 bitcoin per day ... which was pretty much what was predicted on the dashboard, since the payout this morning my expected  profitibilty shows as 0.08-0.10 bitcoin for the next 24 hours no change with machines etc .. Hash speeds are between 7500 - 8300 (total of 16 machines).

You didn't answer his question. You just used it to try and impress people in an anonymous forum, with your number of miners. Pretty pathetic.

I don't think he was trying to impress people, he was just sharing his experience to provide more feedback about the problem that people are having.

Then he wouldn't have stated the number of units he has. It's an ego problem, very common in today's human species.

Why would he go out of his way to leave that detail out? He'd have to recalculate profitability, hash speeds, etc. Plus, the number of miners could have an affect on the problem. He probably wasn't trying to impress people, he was trying to report accurate information. If you took it that way, maybe it's because you're so obviously envious?

Some people don't like the fact some others are better off. I can say I have 31 miners ordered but only 3 right now and another 3 in a few days when ups comes. Is that an ego thing yeah sure since I am not trying to tell people how things are going with the equipment. We are all in this together mining bitcoins no need to be salty about it. But recalutlaing difficulty for a quick forum post screw that haha.

If you had read my post properly you would have realised that I was stating FACTS my intentions were in no way to make anyone envious ... I was not stating any predictions from calculators as I no longer use them since I have had my machines connected, the DASHBOARD PROFITIBILITY PROJECTION in NiceHAsh has to date been spot on, for those that have machines linked with them will probably agree with me that what they predict you will get paid in the following 24 hour period is almost 95% accurate everyday. I was working out my figures on that projected amount that was showing on the dashboard after yesterdays payout at 11am (UK Time). The daily profitibility of what I was getting for my machines (0.14-0.16) is a fact also ... now if you want to divide that by 16 and give users the payout of 1 machine for comparison then that is upto you ... but tbh I was more pissed off with what I was losing in form of income with whatever is happening with NiceHash to really care about individual machines.

I have just checked the dashboard/statistics and now it is showing that profitibilty should be 0.11-0.12 BTC so something must have changed over the past 12 hours, also I was noting that I was getting excessive speed rejection, at one point in the EFFICIENCY box it was reading 62% accepted 38% rejected ... which is rediculous my miners have always been between 98.5% and 100% except for this stint yesterday.

I am just wondering if they are having issues with reporting ... if so would be nice of them to notify the users, personally if it continues like this I will probably move over to prohashing.

Ya, it sucks, but I tried with 3 different banks today, 1 is standard chartered 1 big and 1 medium size bank, all said the same thing about the documents like a legal importing contract, which Bitmain may not provide. I really hope they can change the payment method to bitcoin, it is much easier, really.

I'm having similar issues, with less miners, of course.

My monthly profits read about 30% less (in btc) then they were just a few days ago, something's strange.

same here Sad Nicehash having issues ? has somebody checked the scripts value etc on a chart ??

Reference the 16 miners i don't think he was trying to brag at all, that's a tiny amount compared to some people on this forum that have 100's if not 1000's...

https://www.nicehash.com/?p=stats  payouts are down. Also hashrate increasing, most likely filling all orders even low priced ones.

Nicehash is a market - it would appear that some of the "willing to pay crazy high rates" folks buying hashrate have dropped their "what I'm willing to pay" quite a bit, down closer to what the actual Scrypt coins are at on profitability.

So yes, profitability HAS dropped some the last few days on Nicehash for Scrypt.

What was strange but nice was the ballpark 2 weeks that Nicehash was paying out 20-50% over ANY actual Scrypt coin mining payout - now it's down to more like 5-10% more.

I haven't been paying much attention to them as I've yet to start mining, was it usual for them to payout 20% - 50% above up until a few days ago since it's dropped to 5% - 10%?

If not, has 5% - 10% above been the standard payout for them before a recent spike in price?

Even so, 5% - 10% increased profits is still insane in the traditional sense of investing, nothing to be mad about at all.

People are speculating about a difficulty "explosion" for several months... Many said that at that point the difficulty would be around 400k, 500k, 600k... BS! It's still above 280K!! Obviously the difficulty will grow considerably until the end of the year. But all predictions about the difficulty since the beginning of the year have gone VERY far from the truth. I'm expecting a considerable increase as I said, but people saying it will grow 3x until October... No way! Most people are mining other coins with L3+ (not litecoin).

You do realize they haven't shipped out any units in the second batch yet right? The April/May shipments were their first batch, the pretty much tripled scrypt has that we see now. The next shipments are going to start going out now, and these batches are going to be 2-3 times the shipments from he initial.

Diff will be way over 500k by end of September just from bitmain alone, and thats not including however many BW will make.

I call BS.  How do you know its 2-3 times as many machines? You can't even put a number on the april/May batch....

Stop spreading fud!   Will difficulty increase? of course but stfu with rumors and other bullshit you don't know shit about....

Beside that diff went from 125 to 270 thats not tripled....

Lol ok buddy, love how newbs like you come on here and tell veteran members to stfu like YOU actually know what your talking about just because you don't like what you hear. I don't pull these numbers out of my ass, and making an informed post for people buying these so they can better gauge their expectations.

I build scrypt miners, and have personal relationships with all the main scrypt chipmakers. Now on to correct YOUR FUD.

Bitmain started shipping in the initial L3+ batches between mid April to End of May, diff went from 90k to 275k, thats actually exactly 3x...sorry you can't do simple maths. In that time they shipped about 10-12k units (this is a conservative estimate since some hash is not all on the LTC network). Being conservative again we can assume they will ship out another 10k in the coming batches between mid july to September. That will be an additional 5-6TH to the network bringing difficulty in the 450-500k range.

This is not including the shipments from BW (which I personal know the exact number of chips they are ordering since I'm ordering chips from them). I wont scare you with those numbers either in an effort not to provoke a rage session from you Wink

Hmm guess I was too conservative...looks like well be looking at way over 600k by end of september Wink And then we have another 10k in October batch that just sold out...so bye bye easy profitability with these :/

If you believe going from our current difficulty of 442,592 to a projected one of 600,000 is going to kill profitability, you've never touched a profitability calculator. The difference in difficulties is negligible at best when you look at how stupidly profitable the L3+ is currently, and that's without assuming the price of litecoin will rise, which it should.

Its basically comes down to how fast alts increase their value and if BTC moves away even quicker.  It simple. Assuming you machine would earn 100 dollar.  If that is 1 BTC exchange value, you would get one bitcoin.

If all alts stay the same but BTC rushes away to 4k a piece you would still get 100 dollar in alts, nice hash exchanges them to BTC and because BTC is now 4k you only get 0.25 even though you still got 100$

So if BTC comes down, Alts increase and BTC stays or if the miners connected with nciehash move to other pools, it will increase

Hi mate,

I think i understand the concept, i mean my L3+ was pulling $50 a day on Nicehash now it isn't (around 50%) and the BTC is around the same its been the past 3 weeks, so i am guessing that altcoin prices have gone low?

Well I think right now, its the fact that the next batch of L3+ should be getting delivered and that many people switch to nice hash because it had unusual high profits.

So more miners offering hashing power resulting in less price.   In the end we are renting out machines to others, if they can find someone with a cheaper machine they will take it.

Nice hash acts as a matchmaker. They have X amount of people who are willing to pay Y.   If they could pay less than Y they would buy more hash power.

If you got more hash power because more miners are online, nice hash tries to give every machine work, wich means they will ask less for the hashingpwoer and people will by more. This way they can rent out all machines for less profits (per person) but everyone still gets some money.

I believe that is the reason right now, because alts did not tank and BTC stayed the same price roughly

I see. I was just curious because on the Bitmain website under the L3+ specifications it literally says "800W +10%", which wouldn't leave nearly enough room to run two of them off a single 1800w PSU.

Check out this video. It shows the actual power usage for an L3+ with 220v as well as 110v.

Is that a normal p4400 kill a watt?  I looked it up and it said the max operating voltage was 125v, while you ran 240v through it.  Is there another higher voltage model to look for?  Or does it work anyway?

Also, what's the surge protector situation like?  Do the bitmain PSUs handle that?  If not, are there any miner preferred models/brands for handling all that wattage from multiple asics?

Thanks in advance Smiley
