My L3+ is connected and running at a data center and I have the IP address but can’t connect to the miner. What port should I be trying to connect to? Thanks
Normally a miner in a colocation needs to be set on a static IP in your case the IP the colo is giving you. No need to work with ports to setup a miner. Just IP and Gate and DNS And every good colo, gives customers a web interface to log into the IP. I think you need to ask them about that So I talked to colo. They haven't touched the miner and it is in the same spot connected as it has been for the past month+. I have been able to connect to the miner remotely through the IP without any issues for this past month. But for some reason now I can't get the IP address to load anything. The colo confirmed the static IP address is the same and hasn't changed. I can ping the IP address fine, and it is hashing away in the mining pool. Any ideas? Ask them to do a hard reboot, on the miner. That happens when the apache server on the miner crashes which doesn't allow you to login using webportal but ccminer continues to run. Hard reboot should fix the issue at hand.

Why are people using static ip when they have several machines? I got 9 machines and the internal ip address never changes from for example 10.0.0.44. What kind of issue can occur with dynamic like I'm using?

If you lose power to your location and the network, router, dhcp server and miners go down, then the next time they come up they will have different ip addresses and you will have to find them again. I like to use DHCP reservations.

yeah..my plan on mining like hell and hoarding LTC with my ROI'd equip till May 1st...seems like the way to go ...( a dubious plan..but a plan) they just are not frigging gonna stop.....the toaster train will continue by bitmain and of course, if LTC price was to jump to $100 bucks ..they would suddenly again, IMHO, have 'firmware issues' mysteriously (like last time may 2017) when the firmware fixed supposed machines arrive will show firmware 6 months previous as just dandy (as when fixed showed Jan firmware date on my machines) I see no prudent angle on getting bitmain equip of any flavor..it has evolved beyond rigged...and hell I can use the equip deductions too boot...still won't float.... If your view is that LTC is gonna pump to $100 bucks...just mine with what you got till the diff kills them or buy LTC .... why get dubious toaster level dumps of bitmain equip from now till may 1st say 2018 ..with corresponding dumps in price ...just to wiz in the bathtub and dilute your kool-aid crypto dreams no competition means no angle I can play, esp with bitmain having 90% of all asic markets now....of any crypto flavor be it sha-256/scrypt-pow/and/or x11..and again....they can only it seems pump out units in mass every 2 weeks the only way they know how to do this 'toasters'

Hey guys! If any one is interested in buying miners (Bitmain's) and start use it remotely in 1-2 days - PM or grablewski@ya.ru. I'm now living in China, Shenzhen - City where Bitmain manufacturing they asics. We offer place to put Your asics near Shenzhen city with low energy cost and in if will be some damage problems - it will takes few days to sent them for repair. Also we have additional plates so it can take 1 days for repair only. It's kind tricky to buy miners and wait such a long time and then if something happens sent them back and loose money. GPU mining for that. As we all know ASIC's are not the most reliable hardware in earth. PM or email - more details and prices. Have a nice day! Go and find a job scammer, you are really so funny, of course we will send to a newbie account all our money, without warranties, without any proof of existence, without any picture, without a webpage dedicated for that, damn, you are the most lazy scammer ever. I think it's first think all people should do. Do the research - check peoples - are they real and legit. Too many scams, and i think people would not believe in just word. We will provide video-chats to show place - miners - our faces, id etc. Im not provided any details yet because we are working on details (some changes these weeks on market). Later i post more details and links - please PM me or email. My apologize if im not responded yet via email - little vacation with my wife - she told me im into this too much so needed recover few day. Will answer all questions. Peace!

It is likely that you will not be able to liquidate positions very well after the fork until mining support gets sorted. Holding through the fork is what EVERYONE is doing. I never like to do what EVERYONE is doing.

Maybe I should by a new miner for myself.
If Bitmain is still selling them they HAVE to be a good buy right? RIGHT?
WTF is wrong with them. From a marketing standpoint. I get economy but what they are doing is blowing my understanding of a functioning market lol

I suspect there is an epidemic of greed in the halls of Bitmain management. Either way, the L3+ is easily one of the most efficient, reliable little workhorses in ASIC history. I'm in.

It's Bitmain, not a charitable organization. But I hope for you
