Perhaps such things as suggestions/proposals should be accompanied by an incentive and/or working code... #JustSayin'
Sure. For every byte present in the completed code, I will pay: 1 satoshi*0.003176*pool_hashrate*1.00038*last_block_diff*0*1.22819*total_users. Or I can add 1 PH to the pool I code for PH on this pool

"I code for PH on this pool " Will code for PH. Too funny. You should write that on a piece of cardboard.
|
If you are not mining at ckpool.org, you are just doing it wrong.

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer. Always be on the look out, because you never know when you'll be stalked by hit-men that eat nothing but cream cheese....

Quick update on the basic monitoring app i'm developing. I made it look a little nicer than before, currently working on individual workers and graphs, lots needs improving at the moment. Graphs may be an issue due to how the app works. This is because it reads the data live from the website and shows it on the device. This then means that if the app is not running (as a background process) it will have gaps of unknown past hashrate in storage. My current solution to this for the visualization of the graphs is just to link up the data the best it can however better ideas are very welcome. Another solution (which is much more complex for me to make) would be to create an API for CKPool (as it is open source, thanks -ck ) which could somehow retrieve the data from storage which lasts 7 days of hashrate or something. But that is a longer term aim for myself to do as i have not worked with API's. I'd love some feedback on how i can improve/add different features and fix all the many problems. Anyways, here's some pics of it currently: And a Google Play link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.BadgerHobbs.CKPoolMonitor&rdid=com.BadgerHobbs.CKPoolMonitor&pli=1-Cheers

Just for fun, I pointed my small miner (150-175GHs) here to watch it move up through the ranks and see if I can eventually break into the top 100; however, I have a question about a difference I noticed after the most recent block was found:
As the Home page of the website states--or maybe an old ck post--it seems that since I'm nowhere near getting a payout yet that my HERP (or shares?) that I accumulated prior to the most recent block were added to my HERP on the Work page. For example, my HERP on the Work page is 8,700,000 higher than it is on the User page.
So... Will this I get this type of boost each time we get a new block, or is that only because I was probably still under the 0.00000500 BTC dust threshold at that time?
Also, I saw it mentioned in an old post about a Postponed count that increments each time you've been passed up for a payout. Is that still around, or was that functionality deprecated a while back?
Thanks in advance for the answers... Mine on!

Yes your herp gets added each time you don't get into the payout otherwise it's not fair since you missed out on a payment that block. The postponed data is still all there in the interface-less pool pages if you type in your btcaddress here: http://ckpool.org/users/btcaddress

Thanks, there are a few different ones I'm looking at, BTCDroid for slush pool is also one. Most others use API's though and are generally written in Java with something like Android studio or Eclipse. I only know C# and Unity (game engine) so I'll work on creating a much fluid version once the foundations are created with those.

Is there anywhere that I'm off in my estimate?

Is there anywhere that I'm off in my estimate? Nope, that sounds about right. Pretty much anyone with a single modern or even last generation miner is enough to get into the top 100 at the moment given how small the pool is provided they keep hashing for long enough.

I'll be restarting the pool in about an hour for a minor upgrade. Downtime should be minimal.

Thankfully, I read that wrong. I saw it as a downgrade with minimal uptime.

Not sure if anybody else is this into the numbers or not, but take a look at the 398-399 spot on the Work page--a 300,000,000 difference in HERP. I'm sure by that point, I'll have to start throwing some more hashpower at this thing to break through that plateau. Can't wait! The race for 100 is on... EDIT: ...aaaand somebody moved into that spot with 220,000,000. Ya gotta be quick around here.

By the way the restart happened and had only a few seconds of downtime. This pool now has support for some upcoming mining hardware that will need special poolside support. Watch for announcements shortly and all will become clear. Code on the public git repository will follow shortly after the public announcement.
