Guys, a bit off topic but what the hell is wrong with BTC dropping 1000$ ?!?

Big China scare. Basically everytime the price cracks badly in any crypto the last months, some chinese posted something on twitter  Roll Eyes

This time is the government banning ICOs (thank god) but everyone is scared, many people sell and because so many sheep have entered the market (because its is going up so hard and it has to go up more) even tho people have no clue what they are doing or what BTC is, yet alone what a blockchain is or what it means if segwit is activated.

Most people just see the green charts and enter. Now it corrects (heavily overbought), returns to a healthier place and people see the slightest loss and sell.

This creates even more panic and e voila here we are

have a order paid by USD wire marked as "paid" but still no email confirmation..is that usual?  reason i'm asking is recently managed to secure several units by USD wire and BTC payment all going through fine with a email confirming the "paid" orders.  first order was back in august so perhaps they've changed their system of notification recently, sending email of "order confirmed paid".."dunno"??

Guys, Bitmain is planning a $50 million dollar foray into mining in the USA. One could reasonably assume that they would not want to flood the future market with competitive commercial servers. They started issuing these batch warnings on twitter shortly after their announcement that they are coming onshore here. Since those Batch warnings this site has been FUBAR. EVEN after they supposedly upgraded their servers. I also find it VERY suspicious, that the ONLY posters in here that claim to have gotten through are completely new posters with very low post counts. I may not be the brightest bulb in the house, but I can tell the difference from when it's raining and when someone is pissing down my back. I smell rotten fish.
It is very unfortunate that their server(s?) are so weak. They don't even try to do this right.

But imagine if the shop was quick and fully functional during batch release. Those batches would fly out in a matter of seconds, not minutes and the problem would still remain: short supply and everybody angry because they didn't get one.

The only solution would be to limit the number of units per account, then limit the accounts per ip address logged in at the same time. And this would be much more fair than now. It takes more than luck to get one. I managed to get two miners this batch. But it took one hour, two computers and multiple browser windows to do it. I even had to tweak some of my network and browser settings to make it more resistant to slow servers.

so I guess, this is my first post and this confirms your theory Smiley

It is not a server issue. They are selling 20,000 units out in less than 30 minutes regularly. The also just "supposedly" upgraded their servers. SOMEONE is buying a lot of servers and most of the veterans from this forum are NOT buying them. Of course someone is going to squirt through the logjam here and there. We've all done it. That doesn't change the fact that the majority of European and USA based buyers are getting routinely shut out over the last 4-5 batches. Our IP's are Geo Blocked. There is NO DOUBT about that.

You only live once....if you do it right, once is enough.

I doubt any conspiracies against US or Europe, I'm living in Asia and couldn't get my order through !

Yeah, I agree. When I VPN to Hong Kong, my results are the same.
Did you use a reputable VPN that requires you to program your router? Free VPN's are worthless.

Reputable? Ehhh, I got a free subscription with GhostPath with my UseNet subscription. I just tested with that and couldn't get through any easier so I went back to not using the VPN.
Yeah I tried "Tunnel Bear". Useless. From what  I understand and I'm no network expert, you need to program your router and the router has to function as a VPN client. Most home routers don't. You need a specific router that can do this. Anyway, I'm not saying "conspiracy" I am saying that the site is definitely "Geo Blocked". It's the only thing that makes sense.

You definitely do not need to program your router. You connect to a VPN server through an encrypted connection, even if on public wifi. The server access the internet for you. But you are one of hundreds who use the same server, you're protected because no one can tell which person connected is accessing which site. Kind of like bitcoin tumbling, your data is hidden in the crowd. However, most VPN providers have IP addresses that are logged as a VPN. Basic website protections identify most VPN users.

If you really want to spoof your location, rent a socks 5 that does not show up as a high risk IP.
.....and I can set my server to somewhere in China?? That's the goal correct?

Unbelievable. You guys will just be wasting your time.. man u guys should read through this thread. Put that energy and effort into securing an order!
Why so Cryptic? Why don't you give us the info? If it involves buying through you at a markup then no thanks. Not interested.

Hi guys

i really need your help, i have been reading posts but i still wondering.

* can i run an antminer D3 in a house whith 110 v whith the apw++? whats the risk?
* do i need something else to run it (yes power cord and an internet conection) ?
* if i can´t run it whith 110 v can i buy a transformer? will it work?

thank you in advance and yes (i´m so noob and yes my english is so bad)  Tongue Tongue

yes you can run a d3 with 110v.. risk will be you paying a bit more for electricity cost.  Wink
correct power cord, c13 and internet connection.

don't be running too many of these in your house and you should be fine!

I run at higher volt where I live, but from what I researched 110v is good to go for d3!
anyone can correct me if i'm wrong.

Confirmed. The APW3++ will be more than adequate for supplying 1200W to a single D3 on a 110v circuit. Just to see what happened, I tried running an S9 on an APW3++ over 110v and it worked great (watt meter showed 1430 watts). I considered showing that in my latest S9 YouTube review, but thought better of it and didn't want to encourage anyone to run these PSUs above their rated capacity.
Thank you lets pray for roi. XD

Exceeding a power supply's rated capacity is never a good idea.  While there is usually headroom built in you're asking for the PSU to fry and likely take your equipment it's powering with it.

I'd strongly recommend anyone on 110V to get a power supply rated at 1500-1600W at least on 110V, not running a 1200W rated supply at max.

I agree, psu's are so cheap why skimp on the wattage to protect your investment, especially if you are already planning on buying a new psu for these...

Why don't you copy and paste the post because no one knows what you're referring to. Maybe there's a language barrier I don't know, but telling people to read through a thread that is 100's of pages long isn't really that helpful. "Buddy". Also, if our IP's are Geo Blocked all the back door tactics in the world aren't going to change that. Thank you.

Whats with the two-sided consensus on this though.  Shouldn't there be one definite answer? One group of people say it's fine, the other say "your running the risk"

It's a big deal for me because Evga 1600w PSU's are actually quite expensive.

I would not skimp on a PSU. Remember, if, for example, you use 1kw, getting an equal platinum PSU over gold will save you 25$ per year @ 0.15$ kwh. A high quality and very efficient PSU pays itself in the long run. I learned this the hard way.  Grin

Grin

Saving $25 dollars in a year is negligible to me.

My only worry is doing damage to the unit should I decide to run it on a 110v with the bitmain PSU.

You're seeing a clash between conventional wisdom and actual testing results. Conventional wisdom dictates that you should not run a power supply at 100% of the maximum rated output. This is absolutely true for consumer grade PSUs, such as the EVGA 1600w you're talking about. Server grade PSUs, on the other hand, are actually capable of outputting 100% of their rated power 24/7. When actually tested, the APW3++ was able to reach ~1600W on 110v without issue. I 100% WOULD NOT DO THAT since you'd be running way too many amps on what is likely a 15-amp cicuit. But that does imply that the APW3++ can reliably handle 1200W on a 110v circuit without issue. I've mined with hundreds of power supplies and typically see a 5-10% failure rate after 30-days with consumer grade ATX PSUs. I've only had 2 of Bitmain's PSUs out of over 300 go bad thus far (across all 4 models). I'm fairly certain that Bitmain's APW3++ is only rated at 1200W for 110v because they know that most 110v circuits are only 15amp and 1200w = 10.9 amps. Since you should never use more than 80% of a circuit's capacity, a 15amp circuit should really only be loaded with 12 amps worth of devices. Had they rated the APW3++ for 1300w, they know that people would attempt to use them for the S9, which can easily spike to 1450 watts and go above that 12amp limit.

tl;dr I think bitmain is under-advertising the APW3++'s technical limits to prevent people from overloading their home circuits - which is good.

I gave you guys all details on how to buy from bitmain! Im not no reseller trying to eat off people here! I handed you guys the "KEYS" on how to secure a purchase from bitmain.. and now u ask me to "give you info" and say im cryptic?  really unbelievable members on here.. not a single thank you but criticism.

Shall i hold your hands to the washroom also?
