I leaved it as it is for now. When the new update will be available I will download it then. I think that will be when devs decide to unlock investors from selling their ETN.

In my opinion this is a strategy so that ETN have some value, and miners will give some value to ETN.
I expect this lock to stay like this at least 2-3 days, when it will harder for miners to get it. After that we will be able to sell our ETN as investors. And I will not be surprised if some of us will be so stupid that will ask a lower and lower price, until will be some panic and some very stupid investors will dump ETN.

My expectation is that this coin will have value in 4-6 months if not even more.

Right, don't follow others and calculate well your action when you are going to sell ETN. You need to get more profits compare to the value you sell it.
ETN value is already only 868 satochis... So if you bought it higher, it may be good to not sell your ETN.
The investors are going to be locked as they won't be able to dump except in loss...  
Maybe after the fork of BTC and after BTC fall a little, we will be able to sell to get profits. Or maybe you want to keep it in hope that the value of ETN will increase compare to BTC.

New to this whole crypto currency thing.
Someone told me about bitcoin way back when they first came out and ignored it. Few days ago read a forum where passive income was discussed and many people were talking about mining and trading altcoin. I had no idea what the altcoin was. Anyway, I started reading about it and realized that there are over 1000s altcoins now. WOW!

Been reading a lot lately in past week and came to conclusion that the bitcoin train has passed, and I should invest in some new coin that is in market recently and hope for the best.

Question from noob here. Is this a good coin to purchase? from reading this forum, it seemed like it is but at the same time getting the feeling in last few pages that it is not.

Also, should I be mining this coin or it is too hard now. I have a old gaming PC with AMD R9 280x. Most of the coins that I investigated suggests it is not profitable on that card and I should instead mine on nicehash. Tried Nicehash for two days and got about $2 worth of shares and need to keep it running for over a week to get the lowest payout threshold.

1. Actually the ICO is only a max of 5.98 billion as the 6 billion pre-mine for the ICO AND bounty campaign (20 million ETN).
2. There will be 15 BILLION coins left for miners [EDIT - OOOPS! I entered million instead of billion - just to keep you on your toes!]
3. It's a similar emission algorithm to bitcoin, in that the emission slows over time, with ours slowing with each block. It will be 10 years+ before needing a fork or algo change.
