When the prices went high the volume was also high. Now , the volume is very low, so the prices are down. Less people are buying ANC now after Bitcoin value spiked up.
Moreover , i think people like to buy 1000s of worthless dogecoin for 1 LTC than , few Anoncoin for 1 LTC.

P.S. I love Anoncoin idea so much that my views might be little partial towards it..

There's also the Zerocoin that could be launched at any time right? They've decided to launch it as an alt coin. Once they do that Anoncoin will have some direct competition.

Any clue on why price dropped?
Can it be related to some synchronising issues in the new beta release? https://forum.anoncoin.net/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=478

Yes, I'd be interested to see the differences between to the two projects.

Anoncoin uses 3rd party software that needs to be installed separately and doesn't have built in tech. This is a drawback. I wonder if Zerocoin will launch with built-in capabilities.

As far as I understand that 3rd party software (I'm assuming you're referring to i2p) is  being developed by the same people who are involved in anoncoin project.

If Zerocoin is accepted as a viable solution there will be an option in Anoncoin to choose between types of payments so, yes they both can co-exist.

Can you elaborate on this for a layman?

Thanks,

I can’t really explain it as I’m a layman myself in these things.
However, once Zerocoin’s protocol is deployed in Anoncoin’s network, there should be some sort of inbuilt mechanism of changing Anoncoins into Zerocoins.

http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/2013/12/12/anoncoin-interview-lead-developer/

So, Zerocoin can be thought of as a built-in, no trust coin-mixing service. Right now, the Anoncoin team are deciding on a sensible exchange rate between Anoncoin and Zerocoin, and what percentage of Anoncoin block rewards will be paid out in Zerocoin – given the latter will be incorporated as an additional part of the ANC blockchain.

Hi all!

Been a little afk from internet the past week, but back now!

Many has wondered and asked about whats Anoncoin going to do when v2 of zerocoin is released, if it's gonna affect it's development, etc etc etc. And it's not time effective to answer one at a time Smiley

I will write a blog entry about it, where I will answer where, what, when, why and hopefully the rest of w's :p

We're about to release a new site as well. I'll get back to you in short time! Also, I think Matthew is going to give a talk on Monday at New York City College, so I think I post the blog entry after that, in case he says anything that could become a question.

It has been brought to our attention that the pool anc.usr.io is under new management, and they are _not_ paying out requested withdrawals for an extended period. Find yourself another pool or you risk losing coins.

Sent some ANC there hours ago, still not showing @ cryptsy.

can't suss the "Not yet redeemed" Also, can't tell how many confirmations with the blockchain (unless I am looking in the wrong place)

Not sure if it is normal for 2 hour transactions, it was very fast getting it from cryptsy to the site I was trading on....

Still not showing up.

I would recommend not using cryptsy for ANC deposits for the time being, they are working on the backend right now, no idea if this issue is related to it or not.

Has anyone else had a deposit show up on cryptsy within the last few hours?

Had to resort to trolling them on twitter, but they finally fixed the issue and it showed up.
