I do look forward to FC announcing Blades for sale.  I think it will help considerably with the lower dividends.

Looks like some more manipulation going on with the the PT's on btct.

Is someone ever just selling off? Or is every price movement manipulation now?

when it is done in the way they are doing it, it is manipulation.

Slowly filling sell orders all the way down, and putting up fake sell walls at the same time.  Does that sound like someone just liquidating shares?

5+ price was here too soon.

You might be in for a shock. Last time we went to BTC5, we had to eat through Jutarul's wall of doom. This time we don't.

and that time it only took us like 20 hours!

When blade sales get going, we'll see a lot of growth, but until then, expect it to be stagnant.

most people don't think long term so yeah, that's right, the price of the shares will be on the rise only once there are a lot of sales of blades and new batches of USB miners...

The forum user yxt is reporting that new shipments of USB miners have been shipped: I imagine that means chips from the 200TH batch are ready and have been used successfully in these miners. I also imagine that the Blades are in the final stages of assembly.

I will be watching this forum closely the next few days...

IMO that spike to 5 was because of the friedcat press release of 800-1000TH coming online, then when the 0.023 dividends came out we were quickly brought back down to earth.

We could definitely get to 5 (and beyond) again, but like before, we're going to need some outstanding news from friedcat or an unexpectedly large dividend.

As far as the short term horizon goes, I don't see either of those happening.

I easily see the dividend getting back tot he .035 range once blades are selling again.

I've been holding my tongue for a while now, but I think it's finally time to speak up and enlighten the crowd.  I think Friedcat and Co. are purposefully targeting weekly hash mining revenue as to produce a semi-consistant weekly dividend while also keeping total network hash-rate low as to spur hardware sales.

They have shown that they are capable of hashing > than 60TH.  I believe we are in for a large hardware sale week and they have been throttling back to manage the dividend.

If we get an abnormally large hardware sale portion that brings us to around .019/.02 per share in dividends then I will be convinced.

I'm not insinuating that this is a bad practice, on the contrary, it actually takes quite a bit of the guesswork out of valuating my position.  I just wanted to get the communities thoughts on the matter.

My thoughts: there is absolutely no reason to believe that you are right in any way whatsoever. Your proposition doesn't even make much sense to me.

If you can show me a compelling example (with numbers) of a situation in which throttling is a good strategy, I may re-evaluate. Because I can't think of any situation in which it makes sense.

Time will tell, though I don't see how the last 3 weeks could have been so consistent without some sort of purposeful intent.  I don't claim to understand or necessarily agree with the throttling, only that I think it is occurring.

I'm not good at mathing, but someone on Reddit just posted that AM dividends will be .043 this week...http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1hzjoq/asicminer_dividend_to_reach_004btc_for_first_time/

That would imply hardware sales of around 12400 BTC, and since they are only selling USB miners currently, it would mean somewhere between 12400 and 14000 USB miners would have been sold the last week.

I know they are popular and they are really starting to catch on, but I highly doubt they have sold that many in the last week.

That's fairly reasonable. Guess I'll order another two 10GH blades when they become available. Nice options.

I'm actually surprised that there is enough room for a fairly quick ROI.  Asicminer historically has priced things fairly tightly in terms of ROI.

Considering 100TH, KnC, Bitfury and 2nd Gen Asicminer are all coming in the next 8 weeks it's nice to see that these may actually return a profit.
