Now with the proper fans installed:
Just some questions: 1) Why do you use other (separate) power supply for the USB-hub? Why you can not use the power from the main PS? 2) Can you tell how this aluminium profile is called? I want to try to find it locally (ordering over sea will make them made from silver ) Cheers. 1. I probably could... But being lazy and having plenty of power sockets to plug it into, I'll stick with just having to plug two cords in. I already reduced one cord by using a USB hub that can power and be used by the Pi without stability issues, so that's good enough... For now. 2. I got my case from Spotswood. He makes nice cases. Ask him https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=325089.msg3484177#msg3484177

hmm... no... 1) RC Jet planes - Not the little pos you buy your kid, but the bigger ones with actual turbine engines . Upwards of $6k just for the plane starting off for a decent model, then add in controls, fuel, and everything else just to get it off the ground... shit gets insane. 2) Rally Racing - Not only can be dangerous (and fun as hell), but will cost tens of thousands, if not more, I stopped counting after awhile. I could go on with a few more, apparently I have expensive hobbies -_- but probably the most expensive would be women... *mumbles to himself*

Those are the most expensive hobbies.

Those are the most expensive hobbies. The proper answer is if it can go fast, fly, float, or fuck. Those are the most expensive hobbies. You forgot one... cause while you can (esp. in rally racing) catch air in a car, it's more about the speed But yea, seems pretty damn accurate...

I have to say thanks to Barn and his team. This has been no small undertaking and to go from sketches and CAD to a full board that's working to spec in a couple of months especially in today's BTC world should be commended.
To those of you who come in this thread to take a big dump on delays, seriously, wtf is wrong with you? I'm assuming you know nothing about supply chain, and how many many many (read: most) suppliers won't tell you they've screwed up until they've missed their date. It's all roses until then. And to be quite honest, if you can do better, go start your own group buy and build your own board, and see how much it sucks when delays happen (and at the same time, please GTFO of this thread). I respect Barn and his folks for the speed with which they're getting this thing to market, and speedbumps suck, but they happen. If you can't deal with those - if your margins are so razor thin that a week or two screws you over - you should not have been spending the money in the first place.
Keep on truckin' (as they say in the States) to this team, and look forward to seeing my boards soon.

Not wanting to defend the statements but with several big hits from nearly all the major asic manufacturers to date, I can understand the tough feelings, I too was burned big by BFL so delays scare me too... it's kind of a sticker shock that will linger and cause some level of mistrust to manufacturers when these are announced. With that said I still strongly feel that Barntech and crew are doing great things and working very hard to get us the very best miners on the market in as timely a fashion as possible! Thanks for the hard work and I'm looking forward to putting these bad boys to action as soon as they arrive on my door step! These miners will be one of the most efficient miners money can buy and should have a long life in a very competitive mining environment, with BTC nearing the $600 mark they should also prove to be very profitable for some time as well. I hope barntech and co are rewarded well for their effort and that they are able to continue delivering us better and better equipment in the future as well, perhaps 28nm (or less) drill boards for future generations of the product at even more cost efficiency! :-)

Totally agree - I have a BFL 30gh unit ordered back in August of last year (well, an upgrade from an August order) that I got in late July/early August 2013 - aka almost a year's wait. I can't crap on their parade too much as that machine is the best BTC generator I have atm, but the work drillbit has done so far is far far superior to that quality of work.

I ordered two lots of BFL Jalapenos first was early April, it shipped in mid Oct. 6.5mths, the second was late May, it just shipped, 6mths. not too pleased but better late then never. BFL did have the minor task of designing an ASIC chip, then redesigning their entire product range, when the wafers actually turned up late March, and didn't meet the simulated power spec, so I can appreciate small holdups like that.

I would hope any spare boards would be priced at the same or more than the most expensive bid from the batch 1 "mini auction" otherwise you risk upsetting all the people who paid more than $300. Just my 2c.... on a more positive note, delays with a Chinese factory ? who would have thought it !! Please don't let the negative moans on the forum get to you barn. This group buy has been first class from the beginning and you have proven on multiple occasions to be fair and fast in communicating any delays. Yes it sucks but such is life.

Lol, expecting a board for $300 seems just a tad ambitious. But there's no accounting for desperation.

Not so ambitious, just I have .5 btc left, can go to $375 this morning with the latest rise. This is all going a bit crazy, hardware priced in usd is starting to look attractive again with hardware in btc looking bad. Its fried my noodle Where will this end ?
