Hmm, well, it's not working from my mobile either (obviously a different IP) and I've never accessed the site from that IP before.

Yeah IP ban for sure. Tested on a few proxies and the site comes up fine.

I'm talking to the guy via pm.. he unbanned me, but I am trying to see if he is having issues with us, as hoppers or as ddos.
So far he seems like an ok guy.. so no pitchforks.
But a forum post wouldnt be a bad idea either.

Ok he is pretty cool.
He just thought we were attacking his site.
You all should be unbanned now.
Make sure you use the json api.. which you should be using if you have the latest bithopper.
He didnt understand hopping and the traffic does resemble an attack.
anyways you can hop back on.

We should try "Just hopping, no DDoS" for a user agent string...

Latest bitHopper, and the one without burps patch, stops functioning normally after a while on my box. First it starts with these timeouts http://pastebin.com/WZn6jpRhThen i see this errors: http://pastebin.com/rbgSBRMsAfter a while it is full of these errrors: http://pastebin.com/WYp1N3KVAnd I see a lot of SYN_SENT connections: http://pastebin.com/EQmWs2EVScreenshot of web interface in the state of "User timeout caused connection failure": http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/4/80919683.png/Screenshot after restart: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/143/ss2pj.png/After investigation I come to conclusion that arsbitcoins block/rate limit tcp connections and bitHopper tries to open new connections to the host until it runs out of free sockets. Disabling arsbitcoins helps, but I think there should be a better way for bitHopper to handle TCP timeouts/SYN-packets dropped by pools. I am not sure if http/1.1 keep-alive is implemented. But it could help to reduce stressing pools with huge load of new tcp connections.

Is that a good idea? Easy way for them to mess with us, considering they'll have all our accounts nicely in the one spot

Anyone can join there and it's not THAT hard to spot pool hoppers... Just analyze who earns far more than average over a longer period of time.
If pools really start to mess with hoppers on the account level, all we need is an automatic signup script (most pools don't even have captchas). Again: The only way to get rid of hoppers is to use a proper payout system instead of proportional. Until then we just produce better and better tools to predict when which pools have solved which block (something which might also come handy in the future, who knows?) and get around stupid limitations like these user agent filters...
