2/4 Fidor2Fidor deposits arrived (those from the weekend).

I am quite relieved. Phu! Dargo's explanation made perfect sense. Still, in times like these I did not trust even a site like kraken. Hopefully all other deposits will arrive soon and we will be back to normal and never think of this problem again. kraken is then to rise to one of the most powerful exchanges, I am sure.

So Fidor to Fidor appears to be coming through.

Though I appreciate Dargo's responses, I have to say the way this has been handled hasn't been great.

There's a big difference between "a delay of 1-2 days" which is what is now listed on the SEPA deposit options on the Kraken site, and "deposits are temporarily unavailable until further notice". The latter may be slightly more concerning, but it is more honest.

What if they don't fix the API issue for another week? Then we've all been waiting for this originally promised "1-2 days" while we could be making alternative plans.

We accept full blame here. First, we shouldn't have assumed that a deposit couldn't make it to our bank account without also making it to our system. Second, it's taken way too long to credit Giorgos's account after the problem was discovered. We found the deposit in our account last Friday and his account still hasn't been credited. To credit the account, the deposit information will have to be entered into our system manually - the person who needs to do this has been extremely busy, but still that's no excuse.



Does anyone believe that the main problem with deposits is "the person who needs to do this has been extremely busy".
So after 10 days (from the day I convinced Kraken that I transfer the money) this person can not credit my account because he is very busy.. If this person has an accident in the future, Kraken will colapse Huh
I think something is very strange to this situation and after the MtGox, Kraken has to prove us that it is clear...

Maybe if you'd be able to slip through the net, but normally only adults aged 18 or above are able to get through the verification process.

I have reasons to believe that Kraken keep our money to buy Bitcoins low and when they sell them in higher price they will release our money.

Hi Giorgos - what are your reasons to believe this? Do you have any actual evidence?

I can prove that Kraken has my money from 4th of February until now. So they can use the money to do anything they want (trading or something else). You know very well that MtGox tried to do something like that therefore there were huge delays in deposits and withdrawals.
Can you prove me Kraken is innocent? I hear only excuses and I do not see any proofs.

I can speak only for me and people I brought into kraken, and we did not experience any issues so far.
I am trading / depositing / withdrawing some larger amounts (tier3) - if kraken would want to stay with my money or btc
they had plenty of opportunity.

What I am trying to say is: Please think about if you can give little bit more time to sort out things for you.
You have informed Dargo and us, we know about your case, and now we will see what is going to be done by kraken
to work with you to get it resolved.

Meanwhile, lets not forget: Kraken is one of the best ( if not THE best ) trading platform, and I haven't got
my withdrawals faster on any other exchange so far.
SEPA goes through usually same day/next day for me.

As Dargo explained well enough, the current delay has nothing to do with kraken, but with FIBOR fixing something on what they have messed up before
on their backend ( api for kraken ). So I am sure if someone reaches out to Fibor they will be happy to confirm what we have learned from Dargo's posts.

Eventually Kraken will be able to get back to normal.

What I see is that Kraken got the potential to become number ONE exchange.
Let's all help them on their way up - this just helps all of us.

I think there is an easy and FAST way to switch from USD to EUR.

  • 1. cancel your USD withdrawal request
  • 2. Trade USD for BTC
  • 3. Trade BTC for EUR
  • 4. Request EUR withdrawal

That way you may not get the 2% conversion discount mentioned by Dargo,
but you would cut the waiting time, and most people don't like to wait Smiley

Thanks, I'm tier 3. It says the max daily deposit is $20,000.00. I'm still a good bit under the equivalent of that in Euro. Strange that it displays these figures in dollars as it as predominantly Euro exchange.

two of my 4 deposits are on hold, too. The other 2 went throuhg. And no, I'm not at any limit.
So why they are on hold?

You can inform the people, that the support regarding deposit/withdraw is very very slow, and every month there is a small issue with deposit/withdraw coins, for some days, yes, because it's true. 
But to the most users this happens not very often (except for users where it is a bank problem). All in all I'm very satisfied with kraken and sure it will get better and better.

Hi,

I would just like to second KrakenTrader's view. Just because one exchange has let down and disappointed clients, that doesn't mean
that other exchanges are somehow trying to do the same thing. There is no conspiracy behind the scenes against unsuspecting customers!

@Giorgios-pap: With all due respect, I think you misunderstood what Dargo was saying. Dargo apologized for delays in processing customers' deposits. It is just a fact that people in a rapidly growing exchange like Kraken.com are sometimes very busy. No one is trying to trick you or take your money.

I was going to say "with the greatest of respect" but I don't really mean that as you haven't shown any respect either for other Kraken users who've had no trouble whatsoever with deposits or withdrawals who've tried to help and you certainly haven't shown any respect to the hard-working folks at Kraken who'd actually have more time in their day to address the issues you and others raise if they didn't have to deal with your thinly-veiled repetitive fear-mongering that Kraken is going to somehow collapse just because your particular issues aren't addressed immediately.

Let me assure you that if Kraken does disappear, if you think that popping up and pointing to your crappy post I quoted above and saying, "Look, I told you so," is going to make you look good, let me put you straight right away and tell you it won't. People are already sick to death of you whining that probably nothing you can say is going to endear you to people, so it's about time you stopped pretending that anything you are doing is some type of service to 'the community', because it's not. You're just blowing your own horn and it's about time you kept the noise down.
