Mining. And they thank us very much for the interest free loans. i'm afraid you're right ... The simplest answer is usually the correct one. I don't believe for one second that BA isn't mining while they "test" the units. They've had working hash boards for a few weeks now and seem to have breakthroughs at convenient times that delay shipments so they can apply said breakthrough.

Why speculate, they have already published screen shots with the BTC address some mining has been going to, it's not like it's a big secret conspiracy. But most shipping asic vendors can tell you that it's quicker to make a million dollars selling miners, than it is to mine a million worth of BTC, as most hardware takes months just to cover it's construction cost with mining. Getting boxes out the door quickly is the best revenue, just look at how much net hash antminers have, and work out how much BTC bitmain made from selling those!

Mining with versus selling,.. Yes selling is more money faster. However,.. Selling, THEN mining with that HW until the last possible second and THEN shipping same (now useless hardware) = best of both worlds. I get my profits AND your profits and the "risk of repercussion" is minimal. and I thought honesty was the best policy.

If you have several million dollars worth of ASIC miners to sell, the choice is to mine for weeks perhaps months just to cover the cost of production, let alone the cost of setting up a data center and the massive electricity requirements, or simply sell them get your ROI and profit in a matter of days, then get on with making the next batch for sale. Everyone knows the price of ASIC hardware is falling rapidly, so the sooner you can get the units out the door, the more profit you make, mine for a month or two and you may only get half the sale price or less. There is a case for mining with pre-order money, but it's not a sustainable business model, as the shipping delays you create will kill repeat sales.

Hi guys, at BA I have pre-ordered 10 pieces of X-1 in February, after all the waiting and so on I have decided to cancel the orderwith full money refund. Today its 6 working days and they still wasn´t able to tell me any answer. They are comunicating but mail doesn´t get me my money, still they are telling me that my "problem" will be solved by some supervisor or what but no concrete information - no date of transfer, no final amount... They are lucky to be so far because otherwise I would burn that house to the ground, they are just f**king with all of us and laughing to our faces I think. Has anybody of you experience with international court to china? Any idea how to solve this situation legally and get our money back? I am not experienced at this so I have no idea where to start (in my country are no such successful cases).

They are mining with hardware it's plain to see we have paid them they have screwed us and we'll most likely get them when they are almost burnt out and of no value but we will still have to pay import fees on useless equipment and that’s the advantage we have been rewarded for pre ordering.

im a big supporter of the dz co op but what the hell did bob sagg really see when he went to china around december. I am guessing he saw something that was supposed to be ready in march? what was really going on? I always had a bad feeling that it was all going to end up with black arrow having fuck all.

I'm sorry, but shipping a prototype X1 unit to some mentally-challenged British guy who goes ahead and makes YouTube videos of it does not in any universe qualify as having "real hardware".
+1 All I see and smell is piles of stinking shit from BA... every week.

He has been over on some other boards, but has not popped in here to comment. He should have received them today, so I guess we will see. If he does not have them today, I would give 0 chance of anything being sent out until next week (assuming they are on their way), which means refund central for what seems to be most of the people who post on here.
Refund bros Debit, refund. Depending on the update today or lack there of, tomorrow's when we submit our refund request, and are free from pre-order hell! Hopefully.

I have had my X1 for almost a week now, and yet to earn my first bitcent from mining. Usually it craps out within 1-2 hours after boot, but I have had one good run of ~36 hours without the unit freezing up.
When it hashes, it performs as expected (100GH/s @ 1000MHz clock), I have unfortunately not been able to measure power draw, so I cannot comment on efficiency.
While I have had help from a number of people, I did raise a ticket with BA directly, and got a response back almost immediately that my request had been escalated, since then I have heard nothing from BA, so it would appear that customer care is not a priority neither before nor after delivery of the product.
Edit Wanted to add, while my unit is the final version, but a running off a RPi, this unit is in no way a "plug-n-play" box. The web interface is pretty much useless. I had to update network settings, and pool management I handle exclusively through the cgminer.conf file.

Our first units have been confirmed via Tracking to have left Black Arrow, ETA is Friday/Saturday/Monday depending on the UPS Express timing. Our next shipment is to leave BA Monday/Tuesday, that should comprise of the rest of Batch One, and almost all if not all of Batch 2 and 3. More information to follow.
None of these units have LCDs, I was informed they would be ready after the shipment next week.

At least something got confirmed, Thanks Bobsag. Can we safely assume no compensation units are shipping with the original orders? I still need to buy power supplies.

Are we supposed to get tracking numbers for these shipments, or are we supposed to just wait at the door for the next week? Guess if these things shipped already, impossible to get a refund for this...

Are we supposed to get tracking numbers for these shipments, or are we supposed to just wait at the door for the next week? Guess if these things shipped already, impossible to get a refund for this... All of our units coming from us thru our store will get automatic emails from Shopify with your tracking, and if you chose UPS, a separate email from them.

As far as I have been informed/asked, All originally ordered units will go out first, with compensation units to follow immediately afterwords.
