tempestb I really doubt that BFL which produce the first melting PCIE board in the world can ever produce energy efficient HW.

Speaking about X1 ; david said that heatsink is not so hot at the touch, and all people read the internal chip temperature near 80°C. Heatsink with heatpipes should be very efficient to transfer heat, so deltaT between chip & exaust air shoul be very low. Is termal paste applied correctly???

Reading Bob's mesures what I think is this:

1 - More than 120Gh @ under 120W is good, cause freq can be adjust between 1200 Mhz and 800 Mhz, it seems like BA choose to deliver all hardware OC by default (correct me if I worng).

2 - If we get less than 1 W/Gh in max freq state, there must be room to improve it in lower speed states, but doing it for the moment dosen't seems to increase efficiency significantly.

3 - Possible cause. Chip + power regulators have better dynamic power dissipation than static power dissipation which is good, and this could be why errors increase lowering frequency ( makeing this, chip is forced to pass more time where it dosen't like - especially if it is hot )

Fixes - try anything possible to cool more chip ( this will be good for efficiency & stability at any state ).
        - control voltages (Bob said on ecoin that this will be possible, I suggest david to write this in firsts order on the work to do list for programmers, cause achieving for example 0,7 W/Gh will seriously impove BA situation ).

Bob (or anyone else) , is there any drop in temperatures when you run @ 1000Mhz or lower Huh

I dont think the software based temp sensors, or their software is not working. Our X1s report either 0, 60 or 80c, nothing else.

Clocking to 800mhz only drops the speed, does not seem to impact power consumption all that much. Seems the sweet spot is 1000-1100mhz.

I didn't said sw is not working, only suggest BA implement voltage controls as fast as they can (I see temperatures only HW related)  Wink .  The fact that 800Mhz drops only speed, fully support my thesis. Grin
Would be a shame we can't acieve the better energy consumption only for those little details  Roll Eyes

Sry ninjaboon but I see this as a general X1 topic and I don't want to make bob and david start to loose time jumping along btctalk. Those detalis could be usefull of every X1 future older too.  Smiley

The chip can still be tuned and tweaked. The thermal paste is applied properly and does its job well. While I was working on my X-1 I got it running but forgot I didn't have the fan on it. The heatsink and thermal paste work very well Smiley.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

There's some evidence of what is really going on here from the ecointalk forum. They're "working" on 14nm, which basically confirms that we are exactly in the position of 55nm BFL customers waiting for delivery via a Ponzi on Monarch orders. Expect the compensation to only happen after preorders for the next project to open up.

It was already said back in November and is public knowledge. Nothing new.

Why is MS getting orders shipped to him?

There are quite a few of us who ordered and paid back in September last year before MS was even a re-seller.

My order is mid thirties, I have opened tickets saying I don't care if its RPI, ceaseless, no LCD.
WHERE THE FUCK IS MY ORDER?

This is infuriating!

Guessing re-sellers get dibs first before average Joe.  Not how it should be, but distributors buy up so much stock, hard to not fulfill their orders first.

Funny how the other two resellers aren't getting any complaints from their customers.

I'll bite. Exactly what sort of assembly could Matt possibly be doing that couldn't be done by BA to make the shipping process so streamline? What I'm seeing is a slowdown. Enlighten us please Mr. Former Co-Op guy.

It's simple really. Minersource is subject to lawsuits since they're in the US. If they go down because of BA, no other reseller will ever touch them.

Bobsag has said that all of batch 1 will be shipped next Monday, that's the absolute last straw for me in terms of dates and leveraging the risk in accepting these units and what I think compensation will be.  No tracking on Monday = Refund email will be sent.  (Bobsag, if you think it may be Tuesday, let us know now and I'll give you a day grace period, otherwise there isn't much I can do come Monday with no tracking)  I think I have been pretty reasonable up to this point, but as these dates that, "all of batch 1 will be shipped by XX" continue to be proclaimed, I am losing interest in these machines.  Their expected ROI is negative as it is, the only saving grace is a compensation package that is worth it, but hope for anything worth while is quickly fading, and the risk is getting past my tolerance level.

Bobsag said on ecointalk that there were less than 5000 x1s ordered. So let's assume there was 4500. Let's also say 3000 were from MS and 2000 are batch 1. I really don't think they're getting 2000 on Monday. So Bobsag, can you elaborate on how the process will go. How many are you getting (you should know by now)? How many can go out a day to your customers? Surely all of batch 1 can't go out in one day.

Debitme: I think you should get that email ready

So is the compensation for poor people like me that only ordered a single batch 1 X1 unit from Minersource still effectively zero? I don't call a buy 2 get one free offer really compensation as it requires further outlay, it's more of a discount coupon promo then true compensation.

Hello guys, I have made a decision, this I sent to BA on 24th of June - Regarding to very bad communication with your company and still uncofirmed term of delivery of my order which I payed in advance (despite the fact that value of hardware is much lower than at the date of putting the order, and is still lowering with every day on), I forwarded this affair to my counsel who calculates my financial loss plus management costs. If a whole situation will not be successfully closed until 27th od June then it will be solved by lawsuit.

Still got no answer, anyone from Czech republic?

it's really a shitty company  Huh

we need infos ? what's going on ? why the customers of the reseller
got their stuff before the ones who bought directly from Black shit Arrow ?

You do not need a SD card or a Pi, your unit has the control board preinstalled.
