Why my wallet always show " CPU status : starting Gridcoin CPU miner " Huh and the email in conf file is my account email (myemail@something.com) or the project email ( Milkyway@Home, Enigma@Home....)

There are some helpful folks in the troubleshooting thread: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1428-technical-support-thread/

You may want to ask your question there.

Sounds interesting, but the dev Rob doesn't really post much here because too many bad actors, he posts in cryptocointalk! Do you have any particular projects or ideas you want to do with Gridcoin??

Hey Gridcoin, let's work together?

...  ethical coins unite ..., let's join forces for specific projects.

Do you have a specific project that relates to science and are looking for a support partner, if so call on Einsteinium we will do what we can to forward your project.

Support partners usually will pledge to retweet, provide comments, likes, small donations, and endorsements for specific events they choose to get involved with.

Einsteinium is a 'cause coin' we seek to provide funding for science endeavors, we are seeking project partners for small projects involving: educational science. science fairs, science instructors (teachers, professors, mentors, etc ...), or anything else that has a heavy science influence.

Yes, I see that our respective coins have a definite overlap -- science fairs, let's co-sponsor some science fairs, and we can also provide EMC2 coin and Gridcoin grants to science fair winners.

With that project in the hat we could take on more ambitious projects.    For clarity, we don't always have to do joint venture, we could also simply be support partners in that we provide comments, endorsements, retweets, etc ... like an extension of your marketing team.

The more engaged we are as 'cause coin's the better it is for the target causes, the CC industry as a whole, and our respective coins.

I think we can find some mutually beneficial things to do to help support each coin and science.  I'll comment in more detail over at CCT.

Yeah, it does show in the chain:
getrawtransaction 400a64d34faf6ed3cf4a9b35191a56b3629e66907c2eeadfd302dea663f6ff92 1

I would contact ccex and give them that txid.

Let us know when it is credited.

1. Do you mean one wallet on several computers?
No - I mean one address for all miners - just as we do when mining e.g. on clevermining.com - you mine on multiple hosts, but get paid out to one address (use your wallet address as user name). In this case your "master" wallet.

2. You can CPU mine Gridcoin and have the GPU do Boinc work for projects like Milkyway@home. That's what I do now.
My question was GPU. But same goes with CPU - if I use CPUs for S@H or M@H - what's left for mining?

3. I haven't used asics, but I think it can work if the asic can mine against a loopback address, once the new p2pool is up I think it will be easier to use asic.
KNC is referring to Gridcoin, so someone must know how - and I'm looking forward to the FAQ / description from those who know.

A very interesting initiative, but before I can join I need a few clarifications (I've mined Bicoin and altcoins for a long time, so I know all about it. I've also had top hosts in S@H for years, so I know all about BOINC projetcts too):

1: When will you support one wallet address? Current implementation is way too manual as it requires one wallet per host, and administering so many wallet addresses is an no go.
2: I don't understand how the hardware utilization is shared. I use my GPUs to crunch M@H or S@H tasks with each project's optimized binaries, so there is no gpu cycles left to also mine.
3: How to set up ASICs?

Morten

Morten

The new PoR version will support both mining many boinc projects offline with one cpid (using BAM) and being credited in a savings account in the wallet, Or alternatively running many wallets with one CPID, and any wallet online will pick up the outstanding owed.  It should be a nice system.

Hi everyone,

The reason GRC is still frozen on Poloniex is that there is a shortage of GRC in the wallet. This is because someone deposited a bunch of GRC on the wrong fork, sold it, and withdrew. They took care to avoid detection, depositing in small amounts, selling in bursts over a period of time, and converting the profits to three different coins before withdrawing in small amounts.

I was hoping to get the developer's input on this, and possibly an offer of assistance, but he has been unresponsive for days, and this needs to be dealt with. I'm going to need to roll back some of the trades the person made. Not all, but a few. I have a special rainy day fund that will just about cover the cost of this. The whole thing should be resolved soon, and GRC will resume, fully solvent.

dev doesn't look this forum very much. It's better if you post here--->https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1331-new-coin-launch-announcement-grc-gridcoin/page-285

if you want i can post for you...
I sent an e-mail to Poloniex support asking about this situation and have not received a response.  Send me an email to contact@gridcoin.us and we can work on it.

All-

Please see this draft that we will be posting in a dedicated PR thread regarding our transition to the Proof Of Research wallet around mid October (shortly before our 1 year anniversary):

http://www.gridcoin.us/guides/gridcoinpor.pdf

This guide outlines the major differences between the existing proof of work wallet and PoR wallet.

On a high level, we will be exercising the following actions over the next month (will provide details soon):

* Hard fork required in the classic wallet around Oct 1st 2014 (this ensures higher security during the retirement phase and a diminishing block reward for its last 6 month lifespan)
  for all users and exchanges.
* Release of PoR wallet around 10-10.  Mining in the PoR wallet begins.
* Exchanges stop trading GRC classic
* Exchanges start trading GRC using the PoR wallet
* Coin burning begins - extends on for 6 months
* Coins are exchanged via a dedicated foundation site for Gridcoin PoR coins (at 10* quantity)

It is a very exciting time.

We also started advertising on Bing and have had over 600 clicks into gridcoin.us.

Rob

All good news! What will be the new maximum supply of GRC after the fork/update? Capped or uncapped?

Cheers!

Hi

I can't sync gridcoin-qt: no blocksource available.

I wrote the gridcoin.cfg and saved it in the appdata/gridcoin-folder, but when I start qt I get the message: configuration file emptry.

Can somebody help?

edit: I had the issue in already in january. On my PC gridcoin-qt doesn't work, on the laptop it does. Now I hoped with the new version of gridcoin it could work. I have another router and another network-car since then, but it hadn't changed.

Thank you

I tried it with disabled firewall and anti-virus. Does gridcoin use a special port that I have to open on my router? Or can I just open some port that is currently unused and file it in the .conf?

(what I don't understand is why the qt can't read the .conf)
