After looking at the video, I think at the first launch, the client should open an account immediatly without asking the passphrase of a preexisting account. The client just generate one itself. Like with Bitcoin, when you have directly (after the blockchain download) an address where you can received funds. It would be easier for beginner , because there is one step less. People with an existing account can still add it after Indeed. Also storing multiple account passphrases and the encryption of these would make this client just purfekt. I didnt mention it but you can install and run it from USB stick.

Good morning Nxt community. There are calls for cohesive marketing for Nxt and questions of how a decentralized network works and/or organizes itself. I am representing Nxt at the Coinsumm.it Decentralized Applications panel discussion with Vitalik Buterin and David Johnston which will be moderated by Adam Levine of Let's Talk Bitcoin. I am one of the public faces of Nxt and I need help developing a web site to promote the numerous advantages of utilizing the Nxt blockchain. I am a better writer and speaker than I am coder and/or graphic designer.
I need people who can help me roll out a dynamic PHP and MySQL site hosted on Openshift. I have a domain already registered and forwarded. I have the site set up on Openshift running on Wordpress, ready for developer access through SSH git commands (clone, merge, pull, add, push) with sample content up and an example of what (I think) should look like. I will only start a separate thread for this project when it is ready for live marketing release.
I am not caught up on this thread totally yet, but needed to fire this help request out sooner than later.
James JL777 Thank you for your hard work. Nxt community please do absolutely everything you can to assist James in rolling out the Nxt AE. The timing is critical on the release of this feature. It is encouraging to hear all the reports of the robust AE operation.
PM me please if you can help.

yes, but we need to find a very useful/needed use case for average people to use AE. And it must be a very specific use case, not only some theoretical examples. The average people doesn't care that it could sell its stocks using AE if it would be a company.
We should also think about sales of things with very low prices. For example there must be a lot of amateur musicians, programmers and writers who have no easy way to monetize their work. We could provide them with a way to sell digital content for NXT. This could also work outside the asset exchange as proposed by BCNext. I wrote about this in my previous post. +1440 + 21 + 1 I'm glad to see people starting to talk about the things that are important to average, real-world people. People get caught up so much in the technical stuff and seem to forget what makes crypto-currency exciting, which is that it solves the problem of sending SMALL sums over the internet. For large sums, most will stick with credit cards and the protections inherent there. Bitcoin/Crypto solves the problem of how to send someone a nickel, a quarter, a dollar, etc via the internet. Whoever masters this domain masters all the rest. And YES, the DOGE community needs to be courted. Find a solution for SR users and you will see Nxt gain 10x value. Isn't this NXTcash ?;P There are mixing services for BTC, what I'm referring to is a complete transaction solution all within a Nxt client. No need to access Tor, login to site, have funds in escrow, etc.. This would be accomplished with a decentralized market accessed via Nxt client, funds placed into escrow via AT, funds released, feedback left via AM reputation system, and so on, all done within client. The only reason to target SR users is that they are the only mass marketplace audience familiar with crypto and ready for a solution.

Hey guys, I've been hanging out in #nxtalk for awhile but haven't posted here yet. Figured I should introduce myself.
I am a software engineer with ~7 years of experience in the finance industry. At my day job, I'm mostly a c++ developer, though I've dabbled in quite a few languages. I have some Java experience from some Android development I did.
I don't have any experience in crypto, but it interests me and I'm considering getting involved in some fashion. I am sure there is considerable ramp-up time for an engineer to get comfortable enough with the code to contribute, but I will keep lurking here to see if there is some place I may be able to insert myself.

It sounds promising on some sides, and also sounds worrying on other sides. Many people consider current price to be too high.

there are few stakeholders who are selling millions of Nxt. Price isn't crashing, but also it isn't rising. http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=3000&acc=4483676211889446810This stakeholder has 12 millions, he sold 2 mega in last days. After he sells all he wants to sell, price will go up.

Your Nxt is lost if you sent it to another address, what we call darknxt. What is your actual Nxt address?

It sounds promising on some sides, and also sounds worrying on other sides. Many people consider current price to be too high. contrary, price is way to low to be interesting. sell triggers selling, buy triggers buying. I HODL, NXT will be above 1$

Find a solution for SR users and you will see Nxt gain 10x value.

We don't necessarily need to duplicate the SR model, we just have to find something that is equally useful. I would try a simpler design, where the buyer contacts the seller directly using encrypted messages. Information about reputable sellers is already discussed on the forums, so there is no need to publically announce who sells what. 1. Buyer sends message to query available products. Seller responds. 2. Buyer sends coins, name of product and physical address 3. Seller responds with order rejected or accepted. I agree that having secure ways of mixing coins is not necessary, because there are already mixers for Bitcoin. The question of having a reputation system and escrow is more tricky. I'm not sure that having a traditional feedback and escrow system is the best solution. Discussions on the forums already work as a kind of a reputation system. Having a user-friedly client for this would be important. EDIT: The seller-side software would run continuously on the seller's computer, keep track of the inventory and automatically respond to the buyers' queries.
