I have tested your client on my iPhone 5 and iPad 4 with iOS 7.1. Here are some things I discovered:

The logo and the spinningwheel are not retina. (not that important, but retina just looks great!)

iPad landscape

Almost everything looks good, but in the Asset Exchange the two collums Buy and Sell give a problem to the wordt "Ammount".

iPad portrait

The links on the top are set at a fixed size, so they are to big and are displayed a bit to low over the header.

In some items a second menu is displayed (at Asset Exchange, Messages, etc) this menu is displayed on top of the normal menu on the left side. So the normal menu is not usable anymore. Maybe you can hide the menu and show it on top of everything, such as iNxt is doing in his app: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/inxt/id802351888?mt=8

iPhone landscape

The same problem with the links on the top is showing on the iPhone landscape.

I cannot scroll in the menu on the left side. When I scroll the total page, only the right side is scrolling. So I cannot access any menu-items below "Contacts".

Also is the second vertical menu (at Asset Exchange, Messages, etc) covering the menu on the left side. Once I am in the Asset Exchange I cannot go back to other menuitems.

iPhone portrait

The splashscreen can use some more padding between buttons:

When I am a registrered user there isn't much padding around the logo and boxes.

We see the same problems with the menu's as in the iPhone landscape version:

and the transaction id's are to big too in on the iPhone:

Hope this will help you! Good luck!

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Definitely not good for NXT if it becomes popular.
What people don't realize in this community is that popularity & community is the alpha and omega of success.
People actually think that if NXT (which is 100% open source) is good enough "technically" then the rest doesn't matter.
There is no changes in hoarding, no changes in incentives, community is shrinking, price is falling etc. and nothing happens.
These big hoarders have a collective IQ in double digits.
clones wont get any of the assets and it seems pretty clear that the sum of the assets issued will be the dominant factor in valuation. Without assets or gateways or community a clone is only copying a small part of what makes NXT valuable

If you were deciding what platform to issue your coin on, would any of the clones even be on the short list? Nope. It will only include the main contenders, NXT, XCP, MSC for now. What advantage to an issuer is there to building on a clone?

James

P.S. I wish you would stop being so negative, it is kind of a downer

I can't imagine that it would be hard to implement, given that NXT is 100% open source and people can do whatever they want with it.
I don't like the way NXT is headed towards centralization of power so that the big hoarders can control all of NXT.

It's not about being negative, it's about being realistic and fair.
We've already lost CIYAM and several other key people this week. These are people i have befriended and care about, when they start abandoning the project of different reasons I speak up. That is my right.

And it's not about being negative, I have asked for solutions, proposed solutions etc. for months now.
I put the first spotlight on development halting months ago. These are all issues that could've been solved, but hasn't been, so my "negativity" is founded in reality.

I am trying to wrap my head around some of the developments here:

what will drive NXTcoin's value? if the asset exchange, though built on top of the nxt bloackchain will not be using NXTcoin as an internal mandatory token/coin with which one can conduct their business, and if nodecoins are derived from forging or for maintaining the network, so what is left for NXTcoin as an asset of exchange?

I can for example create a "NXT10" asset/coin on top of the NXT blockchain, pay 1000NXT for creating the asset in the first place and than denominate it with 10 0's after the decimal point and I go on to create my own market non related and with no need for NXT coin per se, just using the NXT network.

will forging than drive NXT value? not really because you still need to use NXT coin for something of economic value

where is the value proposition here as a NXT holder? if NXT is not a mandatory oil to the system (in other words one has to buy NXT and continue to for any action (like Etherium is planning for ETH), it seems that we are completely went away from a 1st generation coin functionality while we should be both.

Not sure I understand your logic. You make it sound like NXT is losing something by supporting assets.
Other than speculative value, what intrinsic value does any crypto currently have?

Assuming NXT gets used by a large number of asset issues (regardless of what it is), then the fact that it is using NXT gives value to NXT. All assets within NXT are denominated in NXT. It becomes the reserve currency

Think about an analogy.

You have some raw land with great potential. Currently it is only good for birds and some wildlife to use. Then one day, a big fancy shopping mall gets built on the land. The animals cant use the land anymore, but did the value of the land become worth more or less? Now it is not land anymore, it became part of the shopping mall real estate.

What if this shopping mall then became the center of a big city? How much is the land worth?

NXT is the raw land. As it is now, it is only of value to wild animals (crypto guys like us)

Yes, that's the difference between Nxt and the clones.

though I'd always like some free shares of any clones (money is money, forgive me, I'm poor Smiley), but Nxt is Nxt, it will be much more successful than any of the clones.

I don't believe it will become popular, the benefits aren't that great, and it isn't as simple to start a dew descendant. Look at all the hard work we are doing here. I don't think a 'new guy' on Bitcointalk can overcome that. The founder is only 1 day on Bitcointalk, so it's not his main account. I don't trust that, not transparant. And what is NXJ? He doensn't even tell what it stand for. A bad clone in my opinion. I have more faith in NEM if I have to choose.

Some of the hoarders may have started dumping in the last days as we lost CIYAM and several marketers.

CIYAM does not leave Nxt. He just leaves this thread.

James, thanks for the answer BUT:

building on my previous question:

you wrote: "clones wont get any of the assets and it seems pretty clear that the sum of the assets issued will be the dominant factor in valuation"

This was true if NXT was a share-- or a piece of LAND.

it is not really as the networkis free to use and the asset of exchange now turned into a passive share. if there is no REAL economical use for NXTcoin, either as currency or token with which one must oil his assets, create them, pay all the time for using them etc., or any other function that will ReQUIRE them to purchase NXT- than where is the DEMAND as an asset of exchange coming from? what is the meaning of "reserve currency in this context?

What are confirmations in NXT? I thought these are blocks since block with transaction. But it seems it's something else, as there are many transactions included in older blocks which have less confirmations than those in newer blocks. How does this work?

I must have missed your solutions. All I see from you nowadays are "the sky is falling" type of posts. How exactly would you have prevented some electiontime tactics from making the cointropolis guys leaving? How exactly would you have prevented Ciyam leaving? None of your "solutions" would have done anything about that.

So, you consider jean-luc cranking out releases non-stop as development halting
wesley's awesome web client as development halting
all of my projects as development halting
all of the other people's projects as development halting

Thank you very much for your "reality"

You say you have solutions that are so magically good. Post them. If it is really so good it will magically fix all that is wrong. In the meantime I will continue working on nodecoin, multigateway, NXTcash and NXTmixer.

That is my reality.

I am not an economist.

However, I saw a DIRECT correlation of XRP value to the amount of fiat and BTC that was in the ripple network.

I dont understand this "oil" requirement. How will people be using assets? With NXT GUI's. What would happen without NXT to all the assets? They would be gone.

What would happen to NXT if one of the assets disappeared? Not much.

Anyway, what do you suggest? We kill AE?

mynxt.info nodes appear to be using 0.7.5
87.230.14.1 uses 0.8.5.

Seems like a bug with 0.8.5... bter also has problems with confirmations

At worst, it would be neutral. There is always the minimal tx fee, but even without that I dont see it as harming NXT. More people use things that are built with NXT, eg. "NXT inside" will help NXT. If just a fraction of the people transacting in your DAC shares takes an interest to NXT, then that is new blood coming into NXT.

How exactly does this hurt NXT?

very nice i love it! Cheesy

your plowing through my edit list lol

where or how would i copy the message/payment link for my own acc to send to someone?

I'm thinking of making the account ID (that is now copyable) a dropdown list, and you will be able to copy either the ID itself or a link to message  / send

Same for aliases that link to an account ID, but that will be on the aliases page then.
