Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Any suggestions about Parallel Chains? If not then I'll stick to BCNext's draft.

Any suggestions about Parallel Chains? If not then I'll stick to BCNext's draft.

A question:

can parallel chains be 1min blocks and 1s, 5s, or 10s out of sync so every 1s, 5s, or 10s one chain is forging?

this might be an interesting answer to the latency problem of 1min
and provide more opportunities for clients to get quick confirmation of transactions...

I've completed the 1st draft of my article about forging from a probabilistic point of view: http://www.docdroid.net/9yub/forging.pdf.html

Comments, suggestions, (and donations Wink) are welcome!

Please, discuss it here: https://forums.nxtcrypto.org/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=836 (or send me a PM). Unfortunately, I won't be able to follow this thread in the next few days.

Here's my new logic for my client http://nxtra.org/nxt-client (to be available later today, not yet uploaded)

Thoughts?

very cool adding the random word for passwd.
There are space between random words of password  or just consecutive random words without space?

I just pushed a test version of nodeminer

from command line go to a place where you dont mind a subdirectory:

git clone https://github.com/jl777/multigateway
cd multigateway
chmod +x run.sh
./run.sh

now you should have nodeminer
./nodeminer <NXTacct> <NXTpassphrase>

Still very early version, but it seems to be working for me in simple cases. nodecoins are allocated based on what the peers report. A total of 100 nodecoins per block are distributed. When you get more than 10, they are transferred to you in AE

There is a display of nodecoins earned, paid out, etc. It would be nice if half a dozen testers could just run in in a console window. Need to make sure the client/server networking is stable.

if that phrase has whitespace in it, would that work as it should?

I think you can have a space for the password, but you would need to put it in like:
"passphrase with space"
