Would probably need an api for that, availableBalance / effectiveBalance in getAccount assets list. CFB - any comments?
You need to use Account.getUnconfirmedAssetBalance(). Of course I just noticed it is not returned in the http API, sorry. I will add it. The whole http API needs some critical review and improvement. |

Wesley, updated the mac wallet to 0.8.9 and no longer greeted with the login but with this:  (resized the window to keep the screenshot small) After the update, it defaults back to test net, so I switched to main, restarted... same thing. |

WIll there be a similar update for the 0.7.x train? Or it is obsoleted? The reason I ask is that all of a sudden, with 0.8.x train I get isolated on my own fork very frequently, causing restart of java with old blockchain. I went to 0.7.7 and problem went away.
No more 0.7 releases. I don't have the time to maintain two branches, and asset exchange features and bugfixes are not in 0.7. I haven't had such problems with forks on 0.8, I saw a few rescans today but now it has recovered without need for restart. |

Unfortunatelly, most of guys know that "unit tests should be used", but they don't use sanity checks of this statement. In our project (when we don't have spare Java coders) unit tests would hurt the development. So, guys, stop talking about unit tests made in a perfect world, come back to the reality. /endOfDiscussion.
I'm not saying you should unit test, it's your baby after all. I'm saying that unit tests aren't useless per se. |

Well, just things like the above, I never realized the unconfirmed asset balance was not available in the API. There are also calls that are not efficient, requiring multiple requests first to get some object ids, then to get the objects themselves one by one. Then there are calls that are partially redundant or duplicate, like getBalance, getAccount, getAccountPublicKey. getAccount already returns balance and public key, why do you need the other two? Fine, getting the assets for an account is more expensive and should not be done if not needed, but for getting the balance and public key the work is the same. Looks like those were added one by one on as-needed basis. |

Dunno. Unit tests r not a panacea, more likely a modern trend between people who used to code for outsourcing. Good thing for u is that Jean-Luc decides how to test, not me. I don't use unit tests now. Those are not substitute for functional testing and QA, and I share the view that for new features unit tests are not that useful. I prefer testing the whole system, in conditions as close to production as possible, and this is why I worked on making the test net easy to participate in for everyone. |

ehm TwinWinNerD is probably our new reddit guy after passions leaving, so here is passion's project that should be fullfilled: salsacz, when nexerns client is published for a few days and we filled the subreddit /r/Nxt with many quality links, I want to start a reddit ad campaign. http://de.reddit.com/wiki/selfservehttp://www.reddit.com/ad_inqI will create pictures, other users can create pictures as well. We get 1000 views for 0,75$. We can target specific subreddits like /r/Bitcoin with 100k user or /r/litecoin with 18k user. But we can also target the whole frontpage. For only 75$ or 1000 NXT we could create 100k views. From interested persons or from every person world wide. I think it would be nice if we can get a minimum of 24.000 NXT for this. I would use 250 NXT per week to generate about 20000 views each week. In the beginning only on cryptocurrency subreddits. Later I would rotate it, so the "normal" ppl see the ad also. This campaign I would run for 2 years. What do you guys think? TwinWinNerD has got 5k Nxt for this now, so it should bring 500k views, if passions numbers were correct. thanks, I sent a little "reminder" to TwinWinNerD reddit was funded weeks ago, problem is with activity of current organisator. The only active Nxt reddit mod is Damelon and only thanks to his summaries. Have we got any other reddits experts? If not, I can learn it too, I just learned how to deal with wiki.org  |

@wesleyh: when issuing an asset, i have a red exclamation mark next to FEE,but i try to put the mouse over or click everywhere and i cant find any text or advertise.
Imho about nodecoin,i think it would be a huge mistake to make Nxt rely on Nodecoins so much.
Nxt needs to stand for itself first,and then if something can be added,perfect.But not have PoW to make the PoS safe.
