According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

unique names is very very idea. If the scammer is able to issue "google" before the legitimate "google" the legitimate google will have to use "go0gle" while the scammer will be using the right name.

The unique part should be the issuer's account ID, and forcing the user to add the ID to their trust list before they can buy that asset.

That would limit the mistakes as the user will not be able to buy the asset issued by people that they have not added to the trust list.

+10000
I vote to allow non-unique asset. Don't take user for dumb people please. To use AE in the first place you need not to be dumb. It people responsability to make their research first. I like the Idea of NXT10 group and NXT20, etc from brooklynbtc. I hope It will be like that at AE launch.

You plug it into the spare PCI Express x1 slot in your motherboard then you can add an extra graphics card for your scrypt miner

Will the NXT be ready for that? Anon136 said an that this could be solved with the Arbitrary Message feature.
Needless to say if this is working there mustn’t be a lot of marketing and new investors / vendors / customers would naturally come naturally into NXT. Result would be full order books and a price explosion. So if you want NXT to be worth 1 USD within this year, this could be a major step.

Having SR type products on the public asset exchange might result in unwanted attention. I have proposed a way to create private password-protected marketplaces on top of the Nxt blockchain:

The thing is if Nxt can work as a totally decentralized exchange, people will use it for these things. As long as it doesnt become a pedophile platform, or used to trade arms... But if it has the potential to do it,someone will just do it.

About assets with bigger value than Nxt,of course it will be possible. The only thing is that it wont be possible to buy them with nxt, until you can get enough to purchase that. But people can use it,agreeing the token is what they agree, and doing the payment in real life.It is your problem to trust who you are dealing with.

My opinion about asset names,is we should standarize the cryptocoins with their gateways first, and let free market grow the exchange for itself. I like the idea of having to put a number code to every asset,so people have to do a research on the asset they are buying and names can be duplicated(with different number code).Voting on letting people create assets has absolutely no sense. Will you be there everyday to do it??In what info will you base your opinion?? For good or bad, decentralized means DECENTRALIZED.

Yup, that's true. Big stakeholders selling part of there NXT is inevitable for a better distribution. It a bump in the road we have to take to make NXT stronger in the future.
