in their api you can list the transactions. but how do you know if it is a buy or sell that has happen?
I am also interested in this feature, while many other exchanges already support the trade type field.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Lol Bitstamp,
Are you frikkin kidding me?
Params: time - time frame for transaction export ("minute" - 1 minute, "hour" - 1 hour). Default: hour.
Sneakily remove the day param after denying us full historical data?
This is a joke...

Think who is the architect of current solution, who accept it, who is not fixing it, who did not officially notify users about the chance - which may results charting services to multiplied volume of transaction!

Hello, I would like to know if Bitstamp has a contingency plan in place for a possible Slovenian bank bail-in. I'm a bit worried that the bank account used to deposit funds is still a local one http://www.sloveniatimes.com/bank-bail-in-rules-confirmed

This question has been posed to Bitstamp for years and has never been answered. Why would they answer now?

I sent a scanned copy of my electricity bill as proof of residence, but Bitstamp refused it, saying "Proof of residence document does not meet our verification standards as we are unable to determine the validity of the document - additional verification required."
Just how does that scan not fall into the "utility bill for utilities consumed at your home address" category of accepted documents? The bill clearly stated my name, address and the date of issuance. Perhaps they are unable to translate Finnish? If that's the case, they should clearly state their language requirements too. The relevant words on the bill should be easy to pass through Google translate, though.

I've sent my ISP bill which I got in PDF form, then printed it out, then scanned it again in a weird angle. That bill had my name, personal code and address on it.

I haven't gone through all pages on this thread so not sure if it is mentioned somewhere but can someone tell we how long it should take to receive a SEPA withdrawal that I initiated today from Bitstamp? It is for a 4 digit amount. The current status: "Waiting to be processed"
Withdrawals from MtGox take 6 weeks, I hope Bitstamp is faster.

I got my account verified without having to submit any additional documents by just making a support ticket about it. Still no idea why it was denied at first.

SEPA from bitstamp takes 1-2 days after they process it. And that usually happens in 1-2 days, depends if you have hit their working time. They do not work 24/7, neither do banks. My last one took 3 days, i think.

If I get a e-mail by noon, it is on my account the next day. If I get it after noon, then the day after next one.

Can anyone from Bitstamp comment on this change? Why remove the day limit? Why don't you allow us to download the entire history?

1-2 days in general... but the recent media attention for sure has increased the amount of new members so expect rather 3-4 days time of wait.

Yes, with the recent bubble the amount of trading was bound to increase as well as site exposure. Its amazing how gox lost so many clients. Although I'm sure they are sitting with their pockets full, happy as pigs in shit.

We at bitcoin-analytics.com are also interested in this vlaue as I asked before in this thread. When exchage does not provide such a trade type field, or if we get trades via bitcoincharts.com we use orderbook/ticker to calculate median price. And then we compare the price of the trade with the median price - if trade price is less them median then is is bid, if price is greater than median then it is ask.
