IBAN is the number that you can find on the recipient when withdrawing from ATM right (aside from the document that you receive when making the account)? Seems simple enough. Thanks.
IBAN can be found on any statement for the current account. I don't think the receipt for an ATM withdrawal carries IBAN, it could be a security issue.

Well might be some random number then (just says Account: *insert number here*). I'll check the statement from the last month. Thank you.

Just provide Bitstamp with IBAN and SWIFT/BIC (which predates SEPA) for your bank account and you'll be fine. Oh gosh, i see no sleep for me. IBAN is SEPA. She needs her account no(usually on the bank statement) and SWIFT code.

On the international wire transfer the box says:"IBAN / Account Number:". Just looked at some statement it has (rough translations): account number; transactions account (whatever this is supposed to mean). I'm a bit new to this.

IBAN (1997) predates SEPA (2008). IBAN is an "address system". SEPA is a framework that uses IBAN to facilitate EUR transfer between countries in the "SEPA area" (28+4 countries, check wikipedia for the list).

Account number is what you need. And if SWIFT is not mentioned there, you can find it here: http://www.theswiftcodes.com/

Are we talking about bitstamp? Because since verification is mandatory, you should already have sent them all the relevant paperwork to identify your bank account. This means that no matter if you choose International or SEPA, all the required information are already prefilled for you. However if you are in Europe, pick EU Bank (SEPA).

I think that I've sent the bank statement with come parts blacked out including that number (as it is not prefiiled). Yes I'm in Europe, but like I said my country/bank doesn't have SEPA. I've found mine, but it has XXX as last 3 digits. Do I need to find this from somewhere or?

As a personal opinion, if you don't know how to manage your bank account to send and receive money you should not attempt trading bitcoins. As per the bank coordinates, just ask your bank: they know better.

I'm good in trading bitcoin and alts, but this is a no no. I guess I'll have to do some more researching.

Hi folks, what is the USD maximum amount that you can have inside a Bitstamp verified account?
Or is there no limit??
Looked all over Bitmap web site and did not see info regarding this.
Appreciate your feedback.

I doubt that there is a limit, since I've seen orders over $2M USD.

I doubt that there is a limit, since I've seen orders over $2M USD. Thanks for the info, I like Bitstamp with the Ripple option to go out with USD. But have never tried that before, is XRP option at Bitstamp a feasible way to get USD? The gateway stuff seems a bit confusing to me... Any input appreciated! Stew

Dear Hazek or anyone involved with Bitstamp Staff,
I'm accumulating problems dealing with ASTROPAY.. I've been able to throw 60k+ USD during the last 2 months.. But astropay decided to SUSPEND my account due to IDENTIFICATION PURPOSES.
I immediately provided the documentation they asked and after 2 days they RESPONDED SOMETHING RIDICULOUS..
My name is Caio (...) Santo, Which should make sense to them since I UPLOADED my scanned documents: They answered:
"Dear VALERIO MENDONCA DOS SANTOS JUNIOR
We've identified that YOUR account is linked to other registration.. Our compliance team has required those people to provide those documents, We inform that you account will only be reactivated upon confirmation of those documents.
Sincerely AstroPay | Equipe de Compliance"
First off, I'm not VALERIO MENDONÇA, I provided my OWN documentation as much as I ONLY initiate deposits through BISTAMP.NET, a place where I'M ALREADY VERIFIED, I sent email to their support to clarify that MAYBE, that VALERIO is something related with BITSTAMP.NET middle-man banking system to work along with ASTROPAY, and if that's the case, them ALL BITSTAMP.NET deposits through ASTROPAY WILL BE HALTED.
I honestly can't understand this, How does one gets a GOVERNMENT ISSUED DRIVING LICENSE and CALL ME ANOTHER NAME with nothing to do with my real name!!
Astropay's support show ABSOLUTELY no support AT ALL, in that matter, since I replied to them immediately and I'M GONNA HAVE TO WAIT 2 DAYS for another shitty COMPLIANCE dumbass answers!
I look extremly forward to keep doing business with bitstamp, but here in LATAM, we have no other option! Caio

This thread is both disappointing and helpful. I recently left Gox and intended on using Bitstamp for my trading. Luckily, I came here and did my due diligence before dealing with them. Am I being overly sensitive or paranoid about the extent of people's concerns with Bitstamp's operation currently? If not Bitstamp, where? I have never lost a dime with Gox in over 2 years but the fees are egregious.
What are the best options for US-based traders who are not so much in need of withdrawing currency as they are in just trading COMBINED with safety? Liquidity is always a major concern.

Kraken will probably eventually be that, though the liquidity right now is skimpy and you may or may not be able to get verified as a US person. I also hear good things about up-and-coming Itbit. Some traders love bitfinex, but there are also some issues there. Mtgox may still be your best bet, especially if liquidity is a high priority for you. Too bad their fees stink!

Made 2 deposits to Bitstamp via SEPA (one 2 months ago and one yesterday), and in both cases the money reached my Bitstamp account the next day.
One withdrawal, via SEPA, arrived in my bank account the next day.

How long are most people waiting for bitcoin withdrawals? Some days it seems to be sent fairly quickly, others it will say "Finished" but the unconfirmed transaction doesn't show up on blockchain for much longer.

Argh! I appreciate the feedback and although I don't find the fees competitive any longer, I must say I never lost sleep having at least 6 figures in fiat on Gox between trades. I cannot wait until a viable alternative for verified traders is available. Every time I think I am free from Gox...they pull me back in!
