Unless you closed your account like me. I think that might have something to do with why I've been waiting a week to get my bitcoins from them.
Yo Bitstamp, are you gonna help this guy out, or what? Ok, its been almost two weeks now since I closed my account, and I still haven't gotten my coins. Does anyone know what is going on there?

My mom deposited $5,000 over international wire on that Friday when Bitstamp had their issue (November 15th). They kept asking for more proof of ID, which she sent in, and at this point just reply a few days after she asks, only to tell her that they will notify her by e-mail as soon as her transfer is located and her fund balance is credited. (Ticket #32798). It has been almost 4 weeks now. So, Bitstamp, despite claims on their website, has not caught up with their deposits yet, and we have no idea what to do any more. Just sit and wait, and wait, and wait a few more weeks?

What can I say - Bitstamp is solid. I've requested a bit larger SEPA withdrawal yesterday night. Was expecting several days for them to confirm, but bam, it's already done today EOB. Always less than one day. Cannot give enough credit to these people, big respect.
And in the meantime in Gox'land: they've forced triggered my verification, simply because I've logged from my office IP from different region. I cannot even move my BTC untill verification is completed, what's already taking two weeks. Once this is done - I will run away from Gox like hell.

No. Solid would have returned my coins by now. I withdrew from CampBX, mcxNOW, Cryptsy and BTCe and ALL of them sent me my coins instantly. I've been waiting on bitstamp for two weeks now just to send me bitcoin. It's absolutely ridiculous.

1. Your mom must have sent it to this SWIFT #BACXSI22 - there is no other way to fund the USD account than to send it to a bank with this SWIFT code.
2. The catch is: this SWIFT code is / was assigned to two different banks:
Thanks for the info. She mentioned that the receiving bank was in Slovenia, but that may have been what they read in Bitstamp's wire form, not where the bank eventually sent it.

Both the banks are in Slovenia. Your mom should have a look at her monthly statement (or at her e-banking interface) and see the factual bank's name. If it reads ''Creditanstalt'', then she should contact her bank and request the money back or be resend to the correct bank. If it reads ''Unicredit'', then Bitstamp and / or its bank may be at fault.

If I remember correctly, Creditanstalt was fused into Unicredit few years ago. Maybe that's the cause of this collision.

It is my understanding that both banks did not fuse into one single entity: http://www.bankaustria.at/en/about-us-bank-austria-the-bank-from-1855-until-today.jsp Creditanstalt is just Unicredit's asset (a member group, a separate legal entity). Just a guess: Creditanstalt keeps Rassah's mom funds: - and doesn't not know what to do with it (there maybe some communications glitches between Creditanstalt and Unicredit, procedures may not be working, etc.) or - until somebody - the sending bank - screams. I might be completely wrong with this ''one SWIFT code, two different banks'' (mis)lead. This is just a hypothesis about why Rassah's mom funds don't get through.

Not sure which Bitcoin wallet you should use? Get Electrum!Electrum is an open-source lightweight client: fast, user friendly, and 100% secure. Download the source or executables for Windows/OSX/Linux/Android from, and only from, the official Electrum homepage.

i over reacted a bit Last place, because for me mt.Gox is a no go - they just goxed too much people, BTC-e has only russian support (extreme limited in english!), Bter has only chinese support. oh, i forgot mcxnow with their genious ipo investment trick/fail/semi-scam and coins-e also has no white clothes... crypto trade is ok so far for me, but too small volume.

What is going on with withdrawals? In process for 5 days? Solved now Was it resolved? I have a "Waiting to be processed" wire transfer withdrawal for a few days now. My previous transfers only took a few hours to get to "Finished". Anybody know if there are withdrawal problems with the exchange?

If it reads ''Unicredit'', then Bitstamp and / or its bank may be at fault.
Update: We checked the wire receipt, and it was sent to Unicredit. Bitstamp asked mom to order a "wire trace" to see where it went to (about $40). Will let you know what we find out (at this point this is more of a learning excercise for anyone else who runs into this problem, as opposed to a concern with Bitstamp).

How long does Bitstamp support usually take to respond to tickets?
