Its so weird, one of my miners can connect without a problem and the other one just keeps failing to connect.  They are both on the same network using the same script to connect.  Weird.

I drink it up!

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Just a suggestion here, take it or leave it, for an addition to the web UI (for registered users only of course):

A little colored box (or circle, or whatever):  red, orange, yellow, green.

Could tell us how things are going connection wise.

Then again, I guess the pool's Gh/s tells a similar story.  Not always though ...

Same for miner status (eg., red or blue).  It can take a while for connection issues to reach critical (eg., total inability to connect).

I guess there might be other items on the TODO list that are more important.

Like I said, take it or leave it.

You could always do worse... Look at BTC Guild... They've had two 4h30m+ blocks in the past 24 hours.  One being 7.1M shares, the other being 6.3M shares.

Cheers,

Yeah, I happen to be lucky enough to move from Slush to BTC right before the marathon block.

Now I try my luck at DeepBit for 1st time.

Pools up right now

Yeah i noticed that people seem to try and attacked your pool overnight in hopes that your asleep.
It's getting really annoying to wakeup and see the pool g/hash rate down a 2.5th/s

But what kenya do, Stay on Diaphasic sleep?. Not entierly worth it

Perhapes these annoying DDoS's are why Tycho hasent done work on Email notifcations, Perhapes he's assuming that the pool will get DDoS'd and érgo Everyone gets an Email. Then we all go check, Then go WTF TYCHO, at something thats not his fault.

Then again.. Perhaps the email notficiations can be programmed in such a way that they are built into BitcoinD and they wont "ping" you about failed pools, Because you'll fall over to your failsafe pool.
But i can see only problems on this road

For the meantime i would enjoy having my phone yell at me when im loosing money. (email notifications)

Nope, can't connect any of my miners, they are all still hashing away in the backup-pool. I guess Deepbit is only partially available for now....

I used to think the same, but in reality, it's pretty easy to see or even set up an email notification to yourself.  Just look at the output of your miner(s).  They tell a clear story:

[7/12/11 11:27:30 AM] ERROR: Cannot connect to Bitcoin: Bitcoin returned error message: Deepbit is temporarily unavailable
[7/12/11 11:27:55 AM] ERROR: Cannot connect to Bitcoin: Bitcoin returned error message: Deepbit is temporarily unavailable
[7/12/11 11:28:31 AM] ERROR: Cannot connect to Bitcoin: Bitcoin returned error message: Deepbit is temporarily unavailable
[7/12/11 11:29:08 AM] ERROR: Cannot connect to Bitcoin: Bitcoin returned error message: Deepbit is temporarily unavailable
mhash 277.0/268.0 | accept: 85 | reject: 32 | hw error: 2

I think it's better to have Tycho focus on dealing with the attacks.

Tycho setup @deepbit_net on twitter.  He used it a couple time to send out quick notes on work and/or outages but not in a while.

Probably too busy fixing to tweet about it...  But I'd think that this happens enough that a tweet would save him time answering these questions (or some kind of status on the website as another user suggested).
