What do you mean by "long polling for about 5 hours" ?
Basically like this except the blocks were different and it went on for hours.
Looks like some connection lock-up problem.

Yea...  Something weird happened.  Must have been on my end. I burned a CD before I went to bed so maybe the CPU usage caused some conflicts.  Damn windows, so finicky.

Miners restarted just fine though.  Just weird since 1 miner was working and 3 others were down.

anyone else get Owned by the difficulty jump? or are we having bad luck in the pool, i went from 3.4ßtc to 1.6ßtc per 24hrs
Current unluck is shown at the stats page, it's 27% for the last 24 hours - that's the cause.

I hope it will change soon Smiley Also you may use PPS mode at least while we have bad luck.

eays to say it! but if you have 20+ workers, you need much time to change them all! :p
at least if we could change them all at once? Wink

That's a good point, I should think about adding this feature.

you mean SMS alert (but this has an extra cost by mobile companies)
i don't think email alert is important, since if you are online somehow, you can always check workers' status even from a mobile!

Tycho, what about to rise your pool fee a bit? Like 3% + (part in total hashate - 40)% ?

Thus, lowering your pool hashrate will lower the fee, rising it will rise the fee. Your pool will auto-regulate into something more than 40%.

Do not be afraid people will move away. They seems to be enough ignorant to stay in the pool regardless of security problems it may impose. So, they will not move away even if you rise the fee. Smiley

after that i click instant payout, with the value of 0.01BCT
it thinks, and nothing happens

If my guess is correct, then you entered your e-mail address instead of your bitcoin address. Did you ?

New people ask this question so often I am very surprised that they don't use the search function for the forums and there will be hundreds of hits on the subject.  Please make use of this great tool Smiley  No offense intended ... more of an advice to all new people [new is relative since I started in early April].

Welcome to bitcoin and mining and welcome to the forum and deepbit! Smiley

It's already processed and included in a block.
You should see it in your client if you have all the blockchain downloaded.

Windows?  Linux?  Send a PM and I might be able to help.  I know Linux well, but mining on it has proven less performant than on Windows so I don't use it [well, I would if I put another machine online rather than buy another license for Windows].

When I tried to pay out 0.03 bitcoins two hours ago it seemed like the transaction ended up in a black hole. It's in the log, it even has a transaction ID, but when I click it blockexplorer says the transaction doesn't exist.

edit: just arrived, probably had been queued up or something
