Hi,
Im new to Bitcoin, but read some tutorials and guides - everything is working fine for me so far - got my first 0,05 BTC today (yay!).
Still, I have a few questions about deepbit.net and Bitcoins, on which I could not find any good answer.

-Do you guys choose PPS or Proportional based on the percentage of the shares (currently 23,3%)?
-How much faster is using Linux for Mining? I have 50.700 khashes/sec right now in Win7 with my Gigabyte GTX460 OC,
may it be worth using my Linux for this?
-Since solving blocks gets harder and harder, is there a guess when it will not be worth solving blocks anymore?

Thanks in advance Smiley
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Hey guys,

I was mining a while back on deepbit and when I went back yesterday it says there was a breach of security and I need to re enter my wallet address.

When I attempted that I got a Mail_send_failed error. Whats that about? Can I not get my coins out anymore? There is no contact info or email or any support of any kind on the deepbit website which is rather annoying.

Thanks

nope... Wink
so huge mining power does not claim such staff as @luck@...the influence of luck at deepbit is minimal at all...There is a problem...

Well folks..i'm going to do my part..switching my 1.4Gh/s to [edit: other pool name deleted out of 'respect']....0% fees!  Good setup...only downsides: a rolling ~17hr delay of payments and no insurance fees for invalid blocks...but who needs that-they rarely occur (<1%?)...Deepbit is the convenience store of mining pools...(a conglomerate chain of them at that though)...The instant payouts, the insurance on invalids, the huge size for a bunch of quick little payouts all to keep us instant gratification junkies sedated.

Well...i'm kicking the habit...I urge you all to join me (700Gh/s at the [other pool] and growing...did I mention 0 fees?  that's a whole infinity lower than Deepbit...and you get to feel warm and fuzzy that you helped save Bitcoin Smiley

Hello, first time posting.

In late May the auto payout sent off 5 BTC (1 at a time) over a few days but I never received them.

How may I claim the 5 BTC I never received?

Open your bitcoin client and wait until it downloads the entire blockchain. If your address is correct, you'll see the payment.

Welcome to my bitcoin mining pool: https://deepbit.net - Both payment schemes (including PPS), instant payout, no invalid blocks !

2 of my workers (one of the machines basically) are down according to my failure thresshold of 2min. But there is no more an indicator showing the timestamp of the last accepted share per worker and can't estimate when have they gone offline. Any chances of adding such a feature again?

Open your bitcoin client and wait until it downloads the entire blockchain. If your address is correct, you'll see the payment.

It has done that, I've been using your pool since you launched it (when slush was the only one around and it was locked out to new applicants) so I do have all the blocks downloaded.

Currently I'm replacing the worker monitoring part, more features will be added.
Time of last worker connection will be available but with a bit lower precision.

Just as it says on the site - PPS is more profitable when pool is unlucky and vice versa.

I swapped pools with all my buddies from deepbit.net to another one... the rate is really fucked up right now and I don't see the purpose of the 3% fee for only keeping the servers alive, that's complete nonsense... 0,5 or 1% would be okay with me, 3% makes me think of a greedy jew behind the screen.
