There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I'm curious about what it takes as well, Smiley. I play live events locally -- not major ones...

What are these guys saying.  Bits are 0s or 1s, used for all computer data transfer at the raw form.  Chips are a potato snack or something in your CPU which processes bits.

Seals poker chips are pegged to the bitcoin (this is bitcointalk.org folks).  Am I missing something here?

Yes you are.  2 bits is 25 cents therefore 1 bit is 12.5 cents.

It's good to have a bit of luck while playing at Seals Smiley

I had a bit part in the new play.

He bit off more than he could chew.

I had to get a new bit for my horse.

It's unlikely that SwC will ever change from 1000 chips = 1 bitcoin.  I have read lots about using "bits" recently, and IMO it's proper from some bitcoin businesses, but not for SwC.

Still yet to mail hats.  Sorry guys.  I swear I'm working hard to build a better SwC.  That's no bullshit.

So 2 bits is a fraction of the US dollar?  That's totally weird.

Two tournaments for a $2900+ first prize I've been in the past 3 weeks  I've been down to 2-3 tables with one of the leading chip stacks and somebody cracks my 3 of a kind and 2 pair with a flush draw to put me down to the short stack. K7H raise to 2400 pre flop, flop comes A72hch. Bet 4500, call. Turn Kd, bet 4500 call. River Ad bet 7000 call. Guy shows AJ. Other time it was 3oak on the flop I had Q8ch, hand before break where everyone gets free food that's still in. Flop comes 884cdc. I bet 1/2 pot, guy pushes, then leading stack pushes with 85cc and a fucking club comes on the turn. Ofc no club on the river though.

Then I go to the blackjack table and put my buy in down and get an ace-eight. Dealer shows a 4, guy hits with 14 (You should NEVER do this when a dealer is showing something like a 4) and gets a king which would of busted the dealer. Dealer has 14 then goes 2-4 to get 20. I'm starting to think of not gambling on weekends because it's just a bunch of people looking for something to do instead of actually playing. It should be a good thing but with all those people even with the odds on your side you're still going to get fucked.

I copied this from 2+2,the player seems to be from Germany. I think SWC should serve poker players world wide and try slowly expand gtd tournaments to early hours.

Re: Seals With Clubs-Bitcoin poker room
So it's 11am on a sunday, I'm loggin to seals and what do I see in the mtt section? (BTC=326$)

10:00 - 5 Chip Deep 75 GTD - with 9 players so 30 chip overlay ( = 1,63$ BI with 24$ gtd, 14,67$ BI)
11:00 - no game
12:00 - Boozehound Freeroll - I am not playing these (0/54 plrs regged) - 1 Chip per Entrant = 0,33$ Value
12:30 - 1 Chip normal - no GTD = 0,33$ BI
13:00 - Boozehound PLO Freeroll
13:30 - 2 Chip Rebuy no GTD = 0,66$ BI
14:00 - no game
15:00 - 5 chip slow no GTD = 1,63$ BI
17:00 - 20 Chip Deep - 160 GTD = 6,52$ BI with 52,16$ GTD

This is awful.
1. lower the 75GTD to 45GTD since this tourney kinda always has overlay. Rather than overlaying the money away, put these into the smaller games with no GTD.
2. put a GTD on the 1 chip and 2 chip. With them being less than 1$ Buy-In, it's absurd not to have a GTD on them. Make the GTD for 9 players, this looks appealing for regging but doesn't produce huge overlays. On the 5 chip tournament with no gtd I'd try 25 chip as a guarantee and may rise it to 45.
3. 7 hours between two games with a gtd? That sucks. Looks bad for everyone looking at the schedule
4. w/o the Boozehound Freerolls, there should be a game running every hour. Even if it's only a 1 chip. The timeframe between 10-12.30 and 13.30-15.00 and 15.00-17.00 is completely empty.

Def. going to expand the MTT list when we blow up early next year.

for now, let's realize SwC doesn't recognize DST, and everything may be 1 hr earlier to you.

20 chip 1k in ~25m
BIG BTC in ~2h25m

Don't Get Shut Out / No Late Reg.... yet.

We're now on standard time (sun highest at ~noon).  What we have in the late spring, summer, and early fall is DST.

You won't be blowing up next year. Before you label me anti bitcoin, know that I'm looking at this economy from a bigger understanding than this whole collective thread.

This is what will happen http://thewealthofchips.wordpress.com/2014/10/26/the-coming-poker-revolution/

You do have a favorable option though.  turn your rb points into a counterparty asset:
Quote

Quote
Definition “Effective Rake”:

A winning player might exchange 5USD on site A with an a roi of 5%.
The same player deposits 5USD on site B with an roi of 4%
We say that the “effective rake” on site B is higher than site A.

The profitability in terms of “effective rake” is hidden on every site by many contributing factors. The most significant are the make-up of the player field (winning players vs depositing players), and the winning distributions. These factors are not definable for the players community.

Problem:

Players cannot accurately assess the value of their money in exchange for chips on each given site (effective rake), and they do not have the ability to exercise their dissatisfaction so they are left with no “pull” in the industry.

Conjecture:

If players could accurately define the effective rake of each site AND have the option to transfer their bankrolls between sites, this would cause pressure on sites to offer a superior product.

Solution:

The players community creates a digital poker coin, and encourages each other and other major entities in the industry to accept and adopt this coin for the various daily goods services and transactions they provide.

Why this works:

Adam Smith, FA Hayek and John Nash, explained extensively that the only way to truly and accurately assess the value of something is to put it on a free market exchange. By forcing sites to adopt digital currency technology, the players will be able to properly evaluate effective rake on each site while simultaneously gaining the ability to exercise this option on a free market (decentralized digital asset exchange). This will pressure sites to offer a product of superior value.
Won’t sites oppose or create their own coin?

Yes we want them to, those that participate will be favored and trusted by the players, those that don’t will lose out. Those that adopt crypto currency reap the benefits of near instant and near fee-less transactions and players’ trust. There are many sites already today that use crypto, and many that are looking for a way to capitalize on current major player and monopoly “inefficiencies”.

Team up with other sites, coaching sites, stables, forums, players, pros, etc.  then players will naturally learn about crypto and come to your site.  When you create a universal crypto asset for poker everyone has incentive to work together...

don't tell me that is what bitoin is for, its not....not at all. http://thewealthofchips.wordpress.com/2014/10/12/the-achilles-heel-of-the-centralized-poker-industry/

1) Ideas are good
2) As blockchain technology matures, I imagine future changes to SwC leveraging the tech more than just using bitcoin
3) Your defensive tone could indicate that deep down you know counterparty isn't ready for prime time yet.
