Website translated to Chinese!

https://www.dashpay.io/cn

We finally have the Chinese translation of dashpay.io live. It took more time than expected because the plugin that manages the translations had some trouble with Chinese, but we were able to find a workaround.

As always, all the work in Chinese has been done by Alexy and Raico, who are always there when we need them. Also, Tungfa, who doesn’t speak Chinese, but helps as much as if he did.
China is key in our long term strategy. We have been doing a lot of communication over there and Alexy and Raico, along with a few other Chinese community members, have been super active promoting Dash. We hope that the localized website will help them in the endeavour.

Next languages

We already have Chinese, Russian and Spanish done. We want more languages so we can increase our reach, but new languages are not just a one time effort. Keeping things up to date and helping users are ongoing tasks. We had thought that Portuguese, German and French made sense as the next picks, but it all depends on the availability of volunteers. If you feel you can help, please contact me (fernando@dashpay.io) and we can organize. You know who you are, so I won’t say names Smiley

Excellent Work!  Ni hau China  Cool

this is SUPER cool !!
well done fernando and all the translators !!

How many are possible dash addresses that can be generated ? How many GB space need for all of them ? the numbers are same as BTC or high or lower ?

Unlimited number of address - as each would have their own private key

Unlimited is a very strong word,  I would assume the number is finite since it is just letters and numbers.

"Unlimited" for all practical purposes. /r/bitcoin had a thread on that just recently:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3faio9/counting_sand_and_bitcoin_addresses/

It sure looks like fun searching for an account to rob, guys! After all it's just 904625697166532776746648320380374280100293470930272690489102837043110636675 pages to crawl. Knock yourselves out:
http://directory.io/

FAQ for a little background:
http://directory.io/faq

In conclusion: Not really worried about "maximum addresses".  Grin

Oh my gosh, they actually have printed out every possibility?  How many on a page?  LOL  Has anyone checked to see if he got 'em all right?  LOL

Wait a second!  What's to keep someone from finding an account address with a lot of coins and searching this database for the account number to get the private keys?

Ah, I see, these pages weren't really generated, so you can't search a public key to find the private key because you won't know which of the 904625697166532776746648320380374280100293470930272690489102837043110636675 pages will have it (as it would take up too much space to make a database to hold all of that) But that is a physical constraint.  I'm sure when it seems as though these account numbers will be crackable, we can move on to something else by then Cheesy

300000000000000000000000000000000 bytes is stored on the internet (not sure as-of date but in last few years)
904625697166532776746648320380374280100293470930272690489102837043110636675 PAGES of 256 addresses of what? 256 bytes each?

Yah, I guess that'd be more than anyone could afford to print out, on paper or in a database for searching, LOL. (someone check my zeros please, it's supposed to be 300 billion gigabytes.

Ugh, I should do this, but of course I'm too lazy.  I've had the same email account since 1989, it becomes kind of a family member, you know?  LOL

Build error

Code:
/usr/include/qt5/QtCore/qglobal.h:1008:4: error: #error "You must build your code with position independent code if Qt was built with -reduce-relocations. " "Compile your code with -fPIC or -fPIE."
 #  error "You must build your code with position independent code if Qt was built with -reduce-relocations. "\

Any work around that doesn't involve QT4?

Possible Versions of the same BlockChain are possible

DASH-lite
DASH-Qt
DASH-GOV
DASH-MasterNode
DASH-Bond/Savings
DASH-Retail
DASH-Corporate
DASH-Enterprise
DASH-Small Business
DASH-Ultimate

Different UI's can be written to accommodate the various technologies that will be written over time.....

.....lol
here I went on a ramble.....
but
...it could happen......

I think we should not allow the government to do DASH, make 'em do Bitcoin so we can watch what they waste our money on!

I think as time goes on, getting a bigger and bigger group of people, enterprises, etc... to update their wallets for a hard fork will become extremely difficult.  Once Dash is used by everyone, they're not going to be enthusists but rather just users who don't think about it.  Luckily those are the same people who we don't necessarily need to have update their stuff, they'll be using things like a light wallet which has nothing to do with the network.  So you may be right, but it definitely will be a bigger deal than it is today Smiley

i was wondering if we can create dash-lite wallet which can run python scrypt, which in turn can be installed on raspberry pi so it become dash blockchain powered internet of thing.

 Cool

There is a maximum, its 2^256 private keys for the max of 2^160 addresses and 2^96 keys for each address!

http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/25069/can-two-private-keys-generate-the-same-public-bitcoin-address
There are 2^160 possible addresses, and 2^256 possible private keys, so each address corresponds to roughly 2^(256-160)=2^96 private keys. Any of these will generate the same address and thus be able to spend the money owned by that address. Since 2^160 is so large, however, it would take a near-eternity to find any collisions.

Since we want Dash to last an eternity, we better get on a solution to this right away!  Can you imagine a hard fork in 150 years?  Yikes!

A hard-fork today wouldn't be much different then today......

Longest fork WINS and with Spork - [and in the in future with Mandatory and Secure Updates] - you won't even know you've been Forked....

We have to think LONG-TERM....
Don't work with what we have today...
Work with..... what tomorrow COULD BE......

1 - step-at-a-time

We [Evan and DEV's] are writing the future now....
...imagine 1-3-5-7-11-13-17 years from now....
We have the TECH
Some of it will need to be simplified and automated

Possible Versions of the same BlockChain are possible

DASH-lite
DASH-Qt
DASH-GOV
DASH-MasterNode
DASH-Bond/Savings
DASH-Retail
DASH-Corporate
DASH-Enterprise
DASH-Small Business
DASH-Ultimate

do we have a website that shows the proposals with v12 or can we only see them on dashtalk.org?

You know, it's not set up yet.  That's what we need to do next.  I don't know of anyone that's working on making a dash proposal site yet, but I believe it'll be a part of dashpay.io.  It'll have an interface with a forum like structure where each proposal gets something like a thread.

To be honest, I think we'll probably approve 2 proposals without this structure first just to get things going.  They will be to fund development (to get new developers on board) and marketing.  I suspect Evan wants to get those started while working on the rest of the infrastructure.

We'll probably hash out the details on dashtalk.org

- - - UPDATE - - -

http://boltvm.com/

I have been in 'talks' with the owners of BoltVM and it appears to be a pretty good deal.
Still waiting to hear back if I can have two IP addresses with the Server.
BoltVM does require IPJ [IP Justification (is what that means)]
 - and it does appear that running 2 MN's on their Server(s), under 2 IP addresses, is 'IP Justifiable '
At $32.00 a year, for 2 IP's, I've not seen a better pricing any where :-D

I'm also trying to get them to accept DASH but no response yet on that matter
Feel free to chime in via email but please remember to keep it Professional :-)

32/12 = AWESOME
[$2.67USD/year)
MB looks like the word "year" should be "month" Wink
32$/12 months = 2,6666 a month per 2 MNs Smiley
1,33$/month x MN

BE SMART, USE DASH ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Something other then the usual.  I know that most here are hard core linux types and I'll get some flak...but I think a little shout out to the folks at microsoft for a really good job with Windows 10!  it is actually really really good plus the roll out has been exceptional. bravo.

Well, I had the most horrible experience with it under VMWare with the latest RC before RTM...  Tongue   As usual, a big-ugly-system-hogging-bug-infested-mega-dormant-virus-incubator...  Tongue

But maybe that's just my pet Microsoft hate talking... Still using good old stable W7 for my Microsoft needs.

I really don't want to hear anything about "viewkey".  Proposal discussions should include anybody interested in advancing DASH.  Each proposal should have it's own thread on Dashtalk.

Just say you need the extra IP for an additional SSL certificate.  You will also need to forward the 2nd IP to new ports, change the port settings in your 2nd config, and run from different directories to get two DASH instances to run on the same server.  It is a little more complicated to setup than having a dedicated server for each MN.
