from The Bitcoin Lightning Network paper:

Code:
...in the blockchain, if only two participants care about an
everyday recurring transaction, it’s not necessary for all other nodes in the
bitcoin network to know about that transaction. It is instead preferable to
only have the bare minimum of information on the blockchain. By defer-
ring telling the entire world about every transaction, doing net settlement
of their relationship at a later date enables Bitcoin users to conduct many
transactions without bloating up the blockchain or creating trust in a cen-
tralized counterparty. An effectively trustless structure can be achieved by
using time locks as a component to global consensus...

Did you read that?  "net settlement at a later date"?

Does that sound like a retail transaction to you?
A newspaper might let you read a daily column using that arrangement, but how many merchants will let you walk away with physical goods?

I'm not an expert, but I'm quite sure the lightning network could be used for retail transactions. This video explains it better than I ever could: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zVzw912wPo

Moaneros are so insignificant all they can do is attack DASH, because DASH (THE #1 Anon coin of all Crypto) is the only standard they can measure themselves with. At least that's their perception. How pathetic is that? In reality they should measure themselves with other, more "successful" Cryptonote projects:

Their scammy parent Bytecoin (read Shytecoin, aka massive hidden Fastmine scam) just received another pump, still well above XMR marketcap:

It's obvious they feel insecure about that fact. So they project the undeniable scam their Godfather-Coin conducted on DASH.

Anyway: Enjoy your 4GB blockchain, Moroneros (4x bigger than DASH-blockchain despite much smaller userbase and started 3 months after DASH)... if it didn't bloat to 8GB by the time it took you to actually download it. LOL

PS:
Fucking interesting read about the shady origins of CraptoNote: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=740112.0
Notice how Moanero devs hijack the thread to peddle their own "completely innocent" coin? It's so obvious the devs stroked the authors ego so hard that he just had to change the title of his thread. We remember this practice, don't we? Here you go:

--

Perhaps it's a simple misunderstanding about who gmax is referring to as "they" or perhaps someone is lying.  I'm dying to find out.   Cool

(*courtesy pings gmax*)

i'm sure Gmaxwell, Todd and Andytoshi will be thrilled when they realize they are being manipulated by you, smooth, fluffypony, etc to try to pump Monero and discredit your competitor Ice.  Or maybe there is a good reason why you are all on their IRC literally fluffing the bitcoin core team for months trying to buddy-up and spout about how bad Darkcoin/Dash (your largest competitor) is and how the obvious conflict of interest with this coming from the Monero team never gets mentioned.  And you, a known confidence-trickster from the Hashfast scam and lead Monero evangelist, FUDing your main competitors thread each day...you seem to be losing touch with reality like any smart money will take a good impression of your coin from this and/or take you seriously...you should maybe think about getting some kind of help with anger management or take a break from the computer.  And these bitcoin devs won't thank you ultimately, no one likes being made to feel stupid or be conned to someone elses agenda.
Your manipulation of people doesn't change the facts: You built your foundation on quicksand.

Can't help but wonder though: What hidden power is trying so hard to push Failero down our throats? The massive hate speech and shit flinging are all done by a huge marketing machine disguised as some grassroots sock puppet bullshit show.

You're not an expert, yet you put words in Peter "The Prophet" Todd's mouth?

Mr. Todd claimed that Bitcoin transactions take too long to confirm as opposed to credit cards for transactions.  DASH's implementation of Instantx solves that problem for retail (and all other) transactions.  The Lightening Network does NOT solve that problem.  It handles the problem of RECURRING payments.  Not retail payments.

Peter Todd endorses DASH!  Of course if you wish to prove otherwise, state your case.  Or would you rather revert to simple name-calling?

Sorry, I might have missed something a few pages back - why are you comparing the relative merits of Bitcoin vs Dash, with an xyz altcoin supporter that doesn't seem to have any road map, that I know of, to introduce the features you are referencing?

That's like some dude with a skateboard saying your super car is not as good as some other guys super car, in order to make their skateboard look better than your super car.

I may have missed something, so please ignore me if I'm not on the same page.

You built your foundation on quicksand.

....and the fact that they just HAVE TO come into this thread and peddle their never ending attacks on Dash and the Dash community speaks absolute volumes on what sort of people they are and what a terrible threat Dash is to their little worlds.

Iceshitter, DashBasher and Adumwide you're pathetic cheap buffoons that don't possess an original thought between you. You're as lame as a teenage kid in a ridiculous looking hotted up car with silly go-fast bits on it doing burn-outs in a shopping centre carpark thinking he's "just so cool" yet to everyone else looking like a complete tool. Go and do something useful for goodness' sake.

i think just let them get on with it, the mistake is thinking anything they say is intended as a real argument rather than just attempting to unsettle competitor communities. same old people / yawn.  if they didn't do this no one would be talking about Monero.  watching Peter Todd get hacked was quite entertaining though i must admit, glad i'm not he.  TheDasher is obviously icebreaker btw.

why

Coins, start here:

I was rejoicing at the fact that Peter Todd has endorsed DASH's implementation of Instantx.  Troll claimed otherwise, and got shot down.

Have you ever noticed that your posts here have absolutely zero impact on our success?

You overestimate your influence.

As I've stated before, the outside world and any investor worth his salt will do research into any of your BS claims and propaganda, and discover what we already know:

This is a professional project, led by an award-winning developer, and supported by an intelligent, hardworking community.

The network presently is stronger than its ever been, growing continuously under your trolling efforts.

The market is flipping you the bird, and you just keep on posting your crap filled with delusions of grandeur. It's quite sad.

Anyway, you're not going to change, but unfortunately for you and your comrades, neither are we. Our focus on delivering an exceptional product has never been greater. The future is Dash! Have fun wasting your time...

So far, so good...The Edge browser is way better than IE, but I still won't use it probably. Dash wallet is still mixing away, no problem yet.
