Not only his fails do matter. His PROMISES that 'we have tested new features on the testnet very well' - that PROMISES do matter.
Yes, there was irrational overconfidence given the complexity of the system and the nature of software generally, but it was tested lots and lots, about as much as you could with testnet as it was then, that's why they're now beefing up testnet. There are complex new innovations happening, hiccups are to be expected. What Duffield says on criticism? When main bitcoin developer asked Duffield, he says like... 'Darkcoin is just project for FUN, like new Dogecoin'.
Source or GTFO. I think Evan would write better than that.

Thank you for your very interesting proposal, Mr 0 posts.
I will follow your advice and sell my house for monero.
Ignored.
Mister 2 posts I made money on Darkcoin 4:1, but now, just google it 'bitcointalk eduffield' - and analyze latest Duffield's posts yourself accurately - you will see the sad truth.

So, this info for think only. I have completely switched to Monero. Funny. I sold most of my monero at 9 and it's now dumped to 7. I had the opposite interpretation of the RC2 and RC3 events. Feel free to ditch your DRK though because there are currently 13 thousand takers and only 5 thousand sellers

Well, it was only a matter of time before vultures spot the quick buck opportunity. Now we'll have trolling attempts to make some sell < 0.016, before the price rises to 0.017 and more. Problem is, there aren't naive people left here, those already sold on Friday

Source or GTFO. I think Evan would write better than that. Evan said - Darkcoin's success was unexpected like Dogecoin - Originally he was going about it as a hobby but later got into it heavy / escalated his involvement to full-time / is in as a full-time dev for the next 2 years Take these two together and you have a nice misrepresentation of "fun project like dogecoin"

And where does it write that Darkcoin is a fun project like DOGE? Nowhere. You misrepresent quotes. Let me enlighten you about something. This is a Quantum Reality, meaning thoughts interact with this world. But more importantly, visions interact with this world in a more potent way. A man with a vision can move mountains. But it's all related to the basic intent of the vision. Nothing happens here by accident, no matter what Evan has said - because even his quotes are contradictory on occasion, so you'll either go with one or the other. Evan's vision, stated since the start, was to make a top altcoin that could even give Bitcoin a run for its money. We're building XCoin into a moderately-anonymous network, where the transactions are sent encrypted and only able to be read the party who is receiving the funds. Blocks will be published via CoinJoin as to ensure some amount of anonymity. This is being built in such a way to compete with the other top alt-coins and maybe even Bitcoin.
My goal with Darkcoin has always been to take the #2 spot from Litecoin.
...and this vision is gradually being build up four-five months along the way. The whole chain of top altcoins is being catalyzed by DRK's ascent and Litecoin has lost half its value and gaining downward momentum as even the multi-thousand BTC walls were unable to preserve its price >0.017. The battle of Dark vs Lite is on. At the same time, ripples have been made in the altcoin world due to DRK and the pursuit of anonymity. The main "vision" and intent of coins that are trying to cash-in in the wake of Dark, is like this: " We can also make an anonymous coin / or promised anon coin and get some share of the pie / get some cash". Some by offering something, some by going the scam way in which the dev runs with the money straight away. But these coins will always be limited by the vision of their creator which was to be small-time players that are just going to take some part of the slice. Nobody has a larger vision and this lack of vision is what will forever hinder their project in ways that they cannot fathom or calculate. I could analyze that one further on how the lack of vision has affected other anon cryptocurrencies in their deficiencies but it would be perceived as an attack to them, so I won't.

ripples have been made in the altcoin world due to DRK and the pursuit of anonymity.
I was going to post something earlier along these lines. There were anonymity coins before DRK, but Darkcoin has put anonymity on the map. Plenty of people have made quite a bit of money off the media attention given to Darkcoin. All the FUDsters that come here promoting their scams and pretend clones forget that they are profiting from the work done here. They would do better supporting DRK to benefit financially from borrowed brand association. The rise of DRK has been as much about the community as it has been about the underlying push by the Dev team. Props to everyone.

No, quite the opposite. Look at the order book. Folks trying to buy low before we go back > 0.017.

Darkbids is up and running but needs your help to be successful. We need auctions! Make some extra DRK by auctioning your unneeded items on Darkbids.com. I put an item up, but shipping and getting a photo to be used is a little obscure. I can't seem to insert shipping charges. Hope it can be figured out? Anyway, looking forward to more items! And Very well said Alex!
