(Giving some leeway to the foreigners.)

Is not fair to say, because you only know about english programmers. Many other programmers exist in other countries which do not speak english, so is not fair to call those people not knowing of programming.
I think you missed something.
(Also, I was not talking about programming.)

It gives SSL expired error, but able to fallback to HTTP. Probably safari does not fall back to HTTP from HTTPS.

http://85.159.209.13 or https://85.159.209.13 not working either. Am I typing it right? Pings good.

Am I doing it right?

tried entering 85.159.209.13 into safari and it says ssl got rejected, works in chrome on the same mac

That the certificate isn't trusted is to be expected, because the SSL certificate is signed for usage on "darkcointalk.org" and not for "85.159.209.13".

However Apple really takes protecting users from themselves a couple of steps too far. I think there's a setting somewhere in Safari/MacOS to ask you what to do when SSL certificates aren't trusted.

edit: It won't be able to fall back to HTTP because darkcointalk.org redirects HTTP to HTTPS.

Is anyone else having trouble accessing darkcointalk.org?

Ongoing mystery problem. Try Firefox.
I disagree. There are few mystery problems with computers, there are however, lots of mystery problems with users. The problem is people are not actually listening.

I was just trying to jeer you guys into finding the problem, and thanks!

- I had tried flushing cache, and just tried clearing DNS on my Lion and Mountain Lion machines using Apples directions to no avail.

sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder

I'll try using the IP for a few days.

You got an SSL error because SSL certificates are mapped to domain names, not IP addresses*. (Try google, for example: https://74.125.225.46, you'll get an error). In chrome, it allows you to accept invalid ssl certificates. Safari does not.

*Technically you can, but there is little reason to, and outside of enterprise private networks running an internal CA and have some application running on an IP without a domain name attached, it is not done.

If it isn't working for you, try editing your hosts file like this:

(Assuming win 7)

Click start, type notepad. Right click and select run as administrator.

When notepad starts, File->Open

Make sure on the drop down box for file type you change .txt to all files.

Then navigate here: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

and open hosts.

At the very bottom, add these two lines

Code:
85.159.209.13 darkcointalk.org
85.159.209.13 www.darkcointalk.org

and save it. Now, instead of looking up dns info for the domain, your computer will automatically route the domain darkcointalk to the IP 85.159.209.13.

Be warned, if they ever change their IP, you won't be able to load it without removing that line!

From richest address link we can see there so many drks owner by fewer people.(743 address have 85.77% drks), this maybe the restrict for DRK's grow road.

We are really just at the start of Darkcoin's future. I have to wait for DRK to grow from $10/coin until $300/coin before I will allow myself to sell some to pay for mining costs to date.

Millions of DRK coins have now been traded since January. There are plenty of coins out there if you want to buy.

So I guess the only thing stopping you from holding more than 1,000 DRK coins is you.

If you want some help working out an investment strategy, there is a great book that was written a while ago now but it is still very relevant today. There is even a public domain copy you can download for free, if you can use Google.

Your reference is perfect and exactly what Evan has started.  Coins are now actively evolving to survive directly due to Evan's work on Dark.  Having said that, it is harder now more than ever to know in advance which coins will be the most successful in the future.  And this is why getting a diversified pool of the best coins with the greatest ability to create and adapt is the decision I've made.  My coins of choice are now VRC, XMR DRK, BBR and even some cheap QCN.

I believe it's fair to say DRK catalyzed the field in that respect too. People are looking for innovation to invest into instead of shitcoins. However there's too much scam mentality. Coins showing a screenshot of some ultra-wallet that has X, Y functionality (that is just a photoshop or something) and run away with the money.

Successfully launched* this time.
I wonder where the price would be if the fork had succeeded.

Alright, I'll try to keep an accessible approach.

The idea is that, if successful, it would attract many people, creating a situation where there is more demand than offer, and the price goes up.

I'm sorry for all the technicals, I'm not a good pedagogue.
