It's crazy running 30 rigs on Windows 8.1, every week I spend half a day on OS updates... They always say "critical" updates and give fuck all info on what's contained.
I'm having a play with PiMP at the moment, it seems nice, I'm close to making the switch.
I've got the Ubuntu 12.04.4 x64 distro on my nodes.
Well that is a lot to update manually indeed, and making something that could update everything at once is rather very complicated and needs extensive knowledge. Why aren't you using an Ubuntu 13.x? |

At least do apt-get update, apt-get upgrade and reboot afterwards. In case you are on Debian based system.
Or spend maybe 10 DRK and buy Debian/Linux for Beginners to understand a bit.
I hear you bro, I know I need to understand Linux a lot better, it's on the list... I shall add it to my list of tasks when I'm updating my MN's, thank you... Do not update. Those guys are trolls. On my ignore list. |

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is out as well  Much longer support than some 13.x one! I have had no problems with compiling darkcoin from source on 14.04. |

i wonder what's the percentage of masternode owners capable of upgrading their node themselves..
They might need to find someone who can help them, before big updates are coming (?)
Maybe it's nothing to be afraid of, but it must be kept in mind running a masternode is not a fire-and-forget kind of thing, it needs maintenance once in a while.
More than 90% of MN owners know how to update because if they don't they won't get paid. MNs are set and forget. Super easy. |

darkcoin doesn't halve. It has DGW, which automatically adjusts block payout with difficulty. The minimum is 5 drk per block |

Dumpers are selling, nothing to do with multipools as there not enough mined coins per day for pools to have an effect. |

The coin doesn't half. It uses a different dispersion model that slowly tapers the coin production down year by year. It's a genius distribution model. (probably because the main dev has experience in the financial industry and understands basic economics) Basically it creates a nice deflationary currency with a nice deflationary curve. No idea where the image for it is... TLDR: Genius deflationary model for coin distribution that doesn't rely on sledgehammer halving. |

What libraries? help us please Thanks google is your friend. We had some issues when compiling for ozziecoin. It is situation dependent. Suggest you downgrade to 12.10 or 12.04 if you have problems. |

Everything works and it will be supported to 2018. |

Don't forget OS updates...
I'm sick to death of Microsoft OS updates on my farm, don't spoil the MN experience for me by telling me I need to do OS updates on that as well  How often does Ubuntu need to be updated? Almost daily security updates  You should update frequently... yes its true there are a lot of security updates, but only ssh and darkcoin updates are important if these are your only running services reachable from the internet. Amazon users dont even have ssh open. This is correct. darkcoind and SSH with ALL his dependencies need frequent updates if thats the only running services reachable from the internet |
