Want to get politicians behind crypto's just inform them they could recieve annoymous campaign contributions through darkcoin. I'm sure tgat would violate some campaign finance laws but politicians make the laws and the law of the land is never written in stone.

I don't think politicans would go for annoymous funds but i have thought that crytpos would be a easy way for people to donate to election campaigns and charities. There's just so much that crypto's can change the world with but i think the fear of the unknown fore mass majority will keep it at a distance for awhile untill the systems proven in some way.

I tried this morning and they answered very fast that they didn't accept Darkcoin. If you have a minute please write them, it would be amazing to get their attention. They are one of the biggest VPN companies.

Done. I told them that as "a user of both Private Internet Access and Darkcoin, I think Private Internet Access™ would be perfectly aligned with the only one privacy oriented crypto currency, that is Darkcoin," so if 1,000 ++ people (there are more than 1,800 registered users on darkcointalk) ask them to start accepting DRK...

Ticket ID: RLL-983-55306
Subject: Darkcoin
Department: Sales
Type: Issue
Status: Open
Priority: Normal

I wrote something similar. VPN and Darkcoin are perfect together.

From them:

Thanks for contacting us. I apologize, but at this time there are no plans to add additional payment methods. Please do not hesitate to let me know if there are further questions. Thanks,

Calien M, Level II Tech Support
Private Internet AccessTM

So, tomorrow I am asking for the same via my other e-mail / account Smiley -- and, as said, if 1,000 ++ people would ask for the same...

For example, if a fan uses the "Brand Name" twitter feed for posting their own opinions etc...then of course it could damage the integrity of the brand. I had to unfollow darkcoin on twitter because it sounded like a p&d account.

Bitcoin is not a "brand" (atleast not in the sense of a product or identity). Everybody can put "bitcoin" in his company name, product or service.
And this is obviously a very important part of bitcoins success story.

Sorry, i thought you would get what i meant, perhaps i should of said "Official twitter feed" instead "Brand Name"

Anybody can put darkcoin in their username, but when it comes from the official account...that's a different story.

okok, but my question regarding "brand" still remains unanswered.

Can I start a business called darkcoinsoft.com (or something like that) and reuse the darkcoin logo?

Or do I break some darkcoin foundation rule with this?

I'm not sure if the name is trademarked (I don't think it is) but he logo is under a CC BY-SA license so you're allowed to use it for whatever you want provided any design using it or derivatives of it have the same license.

*************** Humble Pie Alert *****************

Some readers may remember that I lashed out at Amazon AWS (where I was hosting a masternode) a bit earlier in this thread. I criticised their service for billing me like crazy and for having an overly confusing charging regime. (If you don't want to read the background, just skip to the "outcome" bit).

Well I've since got to the bottom of the issue and would just like to set the record straight in case anyone else is thinking of using them as it turns out I've done them quite an injustice in my complaints even though their sign up process might be slightly improved to prevent the scenario I landed myself in.

Basically what happened is that when I originally signed up, it didn't force me to check my email for and confirmation or login information but allowed me to go straight in and set up an instance which I duly did just to experiment with. I planned to delete the instance after I'd "found me feet" with it.

On my next login however, the system didn't recognise me and directed me to the sign up page again where I duly needed to re-enter all my bank details. That time everything worked as expected and I proceeded to set up my masternode which ran for a few months.

Meanwhile, I started noticing monthly charges to my bank account of around $60-$75 which had no corresponding invoice in my account billing history on AWS. By the time I noticed it I'd already shelled out over $250 to Amazon.

After several cycles of correspondence with them, I realised that the "original" account had in fact persisted and that this had been the source of the charges. I'd used a wrong email address on my sign up and this mistake had gone undetected.

************** Outcome ********************

[1] - During the entire enquiry process (while I was trying to get to the bottom of the issue) AWS support were extremely responsive. Every reply I got from them was indicative of the fact that they'd actually done some digging and read the detail of what I'd said. Often up to a 24 hour wait bit who cares when they're actually doing something with the time. I don't think I've ever had such polite, helpful and professional technical support anywhere

[2] - Once I realised what had happened, I put my hands up and admitted it was my fault and that the bills were legit. The only slight "moaning" I did was to politely suggest they force people to check their signup email account before letting them set up any services which mitigate this problem

[3] - Amazon refunded me the entire May to September charge history with no fuss and directed me on how to shut the account down (I'll continue with the 'real' account that the masternode was running on). They did that without me requesting it other than saying that I'd appreciate their assistance in "mitigating my losses" Wink

I just wanted to say that I'm pleased as f*ck about this outcome. I was quite ready to kiss that $250 goodbye and wouldn't have thought the worse of them for it as it was my own stupid fault for not looking into it earlier and I didn't have any real basis for requesting it.

I'll definitely be sticking with them after this (as I already know my way around the place) plus they look like they could do with the business right now Smiley

Thats all. Just a conscience clearing exercise and I hope it's of assistance to anyone who's looking for a hoster !

576 blocks a day (assuming the ideal 2.5 min block time). With difficulty ranging what it is, block reward between 5 and 10, say 7 x 25% masternode payout should be about 1.75 drk for the masternode payout. So people should expect about 1.046 DRK per MN per day, roughly.

Correct, I was giving the rest of the formula for those interested in how much they can get on average.

The past few days with the diff drop... most rewards have been in excess of 7... I agree, for a while there, it was sitting comfortably around the 5 floor. I think you will be seeing a higher block reward represented by the less miners seeing profits.

For instance, the average for the last 24 hours was 7.658 for the block reward.
