Hello

I got some questions concerning the wallet and the nodes. Will be created a brain-wallet like the wallet of NXT or will be created a hardware-wallet?
The other question concerning nodes - I read that nodes will help to get a stable system. I definitively will support our system however I have no idea what it is. 
Can somebody explain it to me in simple words ? (I'm not that computer-genius like most here I believe  )

Agree brain-wallet has been problematic for NXT and a number of users claim to have lost coins. A dictionary attack against the NXT client is pretty easy as most people use simple passwords or pass-phrases. Current recommendation on the forums is a password made up of random characters from four character sets of at leat 80. Or as I di use something like Lastpass with 2FA (Yubikey)

• NEM will use something similar to Bitcoin's wallet.dat system.
• A "node" is just a computer connected to and participating in the NEM network.

People, what is the need of big SWARM today in promoting NEM?? IPO is already finished, devs are working on code. What we have to promote today, when no coin released and no code is done? What if new people come to NEM and see that meanitme there is nothing to do with NEM? They will come, see nothing today and will not return for a long time.

My proposal is to calm down a little bit, let devs code or better help them and when something real appears in the air, start promoting.

Thank you for your opinion. We are forming a SWARM team for future NEM promotion. Currently there is not a massive need for SWARMing because, as you stated, there is no coin or blockchain launched. However by forming the SWARM team now we will avoid having to do it later. IMO it is best to prepare now for the future marketing scenarios, which the SWARM team is a part of.

So this is by no mean a hysterical move of going all out in the forums and social media boards shouting NEM! It is a preparation made to counter the future need for marketing. After all building a SWARM team also takes some time.

So after the developers have finished on the code and launched NEM we will have a need for SWARMers. I encourage you to join our team also, for the more people we'll have to SWARM when the need comes the better it will be for NEM.

All publicity is good publicity, I see your point but no harm is done by this. Its nothing to loss but possibility of gain therefor we should do this. My two NEM

I agree with the first guy's "two NEM". There is indeed harm from promotion (well, aggressive promotion) this early. There is nothing new people can really do at this point, so any "salesmanship" is going to come off as completely self absorbed.

Sure, you're in, but they are out and can't even get in if they wanted to. Any new person will see how the promotion benefits you (us), but where does it benefit them? No matter how clever, any big campaign is going to appear to be just a bunch of shills trying to get their investment ready for dumping.

Maybe a light campaign would do "no harm" as you put it. And planning ahead never hurts! But, shouldn't you wait a bit to where new people can at least buy in if they really like what they see?

And instead of SWARM promotion, maybe is better to "clean the house" at this moment (audit stakeholder list, give some proposals for devs plan, look for more possible features with NEM and when time comes, test hardly the testNEM).

Not sure if they will reply, but I will keep you guys informed if they are interested.

+1 Agree, preparation is the only thing we can do today not to harm NEM.

P.S. Asking exchanges to add NEM is nonsense today. No one exchange even will think about it, while there is a lot of altcoins around and we don't have any coin and blockchain.

Personally I prefer a brain wallet, but do realize that a lot of people are just not going to be careful with it.

I also like the idea of not having a wallet on my hard drive. People will lose their wallet because they won't back it up.

It is my understanding that the devs are currently testing POI, and they aren't posting specifications on how it will work, because they are well, still testing it out.

Yes, all the details of POI are not finalized. I am testing about 12 variants of a few algorithms, but so far the results look promising. If I had to release something today, I think I know what I would implement.

Great work, Devs. I am expecting your deliveries and believe NEM could exceed NXT.

We hope to do well. That being said, NEM isn't really in competition with NXT. There is no reason that both could not exist together. I own an amazing 0.4 BTC worth of NXT, so I am not really against it 

I agree that there is definitely opportunity for NEM to outgrow NXT if done right.  NXT has some problems, not just distribution.  It is not helpful that the main dev for NXT wants to disappear and be a complete mystery and communication is not good.  I think having a bigger team of devs and better communication with the wider NEM community will be a big help.

Guys I am sure most of u heard or played the Virtual world game called ''second life''. It seems massively popular. According to wikipedia it has its own money called linden dollars which can be converted for fiat or even BTC.
Wikipedia says its economy is worth more than 60 million dollars.

Religious group are building virtual Churches and mosques to spread their message. Charity organizations are using it to raise funds and Malidives a real country even has a embassy there.

Maybe NEM should buy some virtual land and set up Charity, exchanges etc in second life. This could be a huge platform for us.

I never played this game before but thinking of ways to spread NEM awareness this just occured to me.

I have posted this in trello and Utopian Future finds it interesting and wants to set a NEM commune there.  I am looking for people who could guide us there and helping us set a virtual commune etc since I have never played this game myself before.

So anyone who knows anything about this please help.

I just downloaded the game but I just see a naked man on a beach, cant make head or tail out of this. Will keep exploring though, maybe its like simcity.
