When this gets added to shapeshift it's gonna blow.  Very tight supply and very well consolidated.

I'm really surprised to see HUC price going up for over 2 weeks without much resistance or major dumps, a new page in HUC trending. From all-time high at 0.0035 down to all-time low at 0.00000334 and now slowly going up, what a ride!

Not a huge surprise, imo, SISAR. A couple of months ago when the Unity project was announced, there was a decent pump, and now it seems like "lite" versions that might run on Android or iOS are getting closer to reality, so some price rise is to be expected, I think.

I was expecting some price rise but not like that, a month ago people were dumping down to 466 Satoshi or so and now when price is over 100% up no one wanna dump any decent bag, how come? No one is taking any noticable profit? If you compare current trend with the latest big pump (the one you mentioned) there were clearly pumps and dumps going on, price range within the same day was huge but now even if price goes crazy it is only upwards. Such trend is rarely seen with cryptos, many people this days cash-out even with smaller price increase.

HODL time, it seems.  Cheesy

Not a huge surprise, imo, SISAR. A couple of months ago when the Unity project was announced...

I've never heard of this unity project, can anybody add some color and how it relates to HunterCoin?

Also, is the game still being worked on?  How much longer before a full rollout?

Much appreciated!

Game is a part of Huntercoin wallet, not separate service thus it was available the same moment Huntercoin was launched. In short, take classic Bitcoin-Qt and add tab where people can gather 90% of newly mined bitcoins by playing game and you get Huntercoin. On top of that, one can get coins by mining with both SHA256 and Scrypt and all that also works as merged-mining. Miners get 10% of newly mined coins and taxes when players cash-out coins they have gathered ingame. At any time you can check the state of game at https://www.huntercoin.info/ just refresh page every few minutes and you'll notice that coins (players) are moving mostly toward corners, that is where 4 starting bases are and where player cashes-out (puts gathered coins into his wallet and pays tax to miners).

At it's peak, game was played by close to 9,000 players (humans and bots) and it was totally badass. https://www.huntercoin.info/PZN/huntercoin/charts/generals.png?1433966543

Also check https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q41RW6bxpM4 and other Huntercoin videos on YouTube.

Unity project is about creation of Huntercoin client with Unity3D software (google it) so that people can play without downloading the whole blockchain and from what I saw on last few pages it is almost complete (had no time to test it though). By installing Unity3D player one can play the game inside any web browser, for example.

Huntercoin in a nutshell is a cryptocoin with unique way of distributing newly mined coins, you can think of it as very advanced faucet.  Grin

regarding the volume in feb. i donated to the devs and bought ~300k over the course of a week or so. i usually donate some when they release something new.  when i stopped buying, the price went back down.

14400 coins generated per day at a price of 1000 satoshis/huc is 0.144 btc per day. thats ~$34 usd per day. there is barely any volume and there probably aren't any decent bags to dump or do any real damage anyway around this price.

wait for a 10x gain, then we'll see some volume again.

Probably a good buy on that one.

I'll have to check when our year payment of the HUC service is.  I'm probably going to bow out @ the mark where you paid up and someone else will need to maintain her.

Or whoever can just send me the annual payment and I'd be happy to just pay her up.  Hate to move or fix something that isn't broke, but I'll be in touch.

True but there are 7 million coins already mined and also for months price was under 500 Satoshi with trades going on, some people got a lot of coins at such low prices but even now when price is up almost 300% none of them are selling? It might be an epic bull trap or just HODL time, long-term long positions with profit targets much higher than 300%.

Please comment / test upcoming game mechanics change.

http://forum.huntercoin.org/index.php/topic,1582.msg4880.html#msg4880

WARNING - Do as instructed - do not run these modified clients against your own datafolders.
I've made a simple private testnet - download the file, unzip, make sure the contents are in c:\hunttest, run shortcut 1 and then shortcut 2.

You should have then 2 QTs with some coins and some players with 1 connection (to each other)- you can mine from the console window...

Windows
https://mega.co.nz/#!pYVxlTbL!04eqnBx02xESWyFaPz8Nv6aZHLtWDLml0vYqmSGR_ns
Source
https://github.com/domob1812/huntercoin/tree/life-steal

Windows Testing Instructions =
Unzip folder to c:\hunttest

click shortcut 1 and 2 -- for your own private testnet. Mine from console window. (setgenerate true)

should be some coins and some hunters in the centre

TEST ONLY UPDATE INCLUDES:

Life Steal (as per previous test)
Reduce Carry Capacity to 100
Destruct Fee = 20 HUCs
50 Banks - Random Single Square Locations and have a life expectancy when they spawn from 25 to 100 Blocks. This can be seen in the gamestate (not yet in the qt).
Standing on a Bank for 2 Blocks will refund your hunters coins, as will disaster.
Hunter Fee for creating Hunter = 200 HUCs + 5 HUCs (none refundable, and goes to gamefund)

Random Spawn Locations

Please Test -
are there too many banks or not enough (i think ok for now)?
is 25 to 100 Life Expectancy ok Banks ok?

Hard Fork will be set for in 2 weeks if there is no objections or issues spotted (starting this weekend).

This debug log looks normal for syncing.  The 'error' is caused by you receiving a transaction which is based on outputs that you have not yet synced - thus the 'storing orphan tx'.  I see those, too, when syncing, and it usually is not a problem.

No problem, I had the same exact issue a while ago, and domob, or snailbrain, or bgb or someone helped me figuring it out. You can kind of tell I think because when you use the built in windows unzipper, then the unzipped files come out to be smaller than the archive that you're extracting them from, but it's not something you would normally consider. I mean, why the fuck can't the windows built in unzipper handle large files? Wtf Balmer?

Apparently they were slightly too drunk/sober when they implemented that feature:
