Soo question, read that block times are 1 per minute, but its a merge mine coin, working off btc's 10 min per block? So how are you getting 1 min transactions?

also just to do the math it cost 200 coins to make a toon and someone who destructs loses there toon and the 1 they killed , but if we both are under 200 coins is it really worth killing to get another toon to loot the coins?

Also how long do the dropped coins last on the ground.. till someone gets them?

currently for PvP you need a "toon" to pickup the coins on the ground (after sacrificing 1 of your hunters to kill another)

with the life steal change (next hardfork - couple of weeks), you won't die when you destruct, although it will cost you 20 hucs to do it.

You will start with 200 Life (the cost of your hunter). And if you hit someone with destruct it will do 200 Damage and you will gain 200 Health. They will die and you will have 400 health, and so on.
To cash out your PvP/Life/Coins you need to stay on a bank square for 3 blocks or get hit by a disaster.
The General cost of coins never drop on the floor.
Normal Coins from coin spawn harvested areas can be banked and will drop on the floor.

1. There are 2 types of generals, normal (paid one, works exactly as ones ingame now) and free one.
2. The only thing free generals can do is collect coins until they cash-out let's say 1,000 HUC where those coins go to game fund, faucet or something like that.
3. Once step 2. is complete free general turns into normal general.

Free general could not use destruct and could not be a target of destruct. That way it can not be used to pump-up other's general life for free (by same player) nor it can be used to ruin the gameplay of players who are using normal generals.

Not sure how to prevent mass-creation of free generals for the sake of spamming blockchain and mempool though (no playing), need to think more on the matter.

The issue with low general cost (free ones) is the mass creation and spam of the chain (they need to cost something though, as your player is a "locked coin").

Originally at 1 HUC (with less in circulation), the blockchain growth was "a lot". Since increasing the cost, adding disaster and adding fees for movement we have reduced the chain growth significantly.
By removing "loss of coins" upon disaster with the next update there will probably be more hunters on the map - if the price was very cheap, we'll probably see thousands of hunters just stood still on every coin spot like in the past.
Another reason is that automated players (bots) can play 247 with little worry, and if those players aren't worth anything to kill they will be left alone... so it's an advantage to them more than humans.
By increasing general cost (and adding lifesteal), every hunter will be worth killing.
Currently the bots are very good at auto harvesting but not good at PvP when competing against a human player (atm). If we shift the game more torwards pvp it should put botters more in direct competition with humans until they adapt further, and until we add some more complexity with combat - e.g. Reds do a Point Blank AoE, Blue do a cone shaped aoe, yellow do a direct line attack etc.. or maybe multiple attacks for each hunter - we have now implemented the ability to add fees for "actions" (destruct) and fees for creation which all go into the gamefund. So some attacks could cost X, others Y, and certain types of classes/colours could cost more to create.

I personally think the game/human mining part would be more desirable if you can kill someone for 10 $ or 100$ rather than 1$.. but i know not everyone shares that view.
Maybe 200 HUCs will need to be reduced though

some different priced hunters in the future is definitely a possibility.

Huntercoin is a P2P cryptocurrency which incorporates human mining. A blockchain-based alternate reality, P2P decentralized cryptocurrency game - MMOCG. Huntercoin is a Namecoin (NMC) fork.

Features:

42 million coins, current supply is around 7 million coins.
1 minute block time.
10 coins per block – 1 coin to miners, 8.75 coins onto the map and 0.25 coins for Crown of Fortune (see below).
Dual algorithm SHA256 + Scrypt - Each algorithm has separate difficulty, both are targeting 2 minute block time and are merge-mineable.
Difficulty retargets every block based on the last 2016 blocks (PPC style) for each algorithm separately.
Integrated chat – Not realtime, newly broadcasted messages are published when a new block is mined. They stay recorded in blockchain permanently.
Includes all relevant features of other cryptocurrencies.

Human mining – Control Hunters to harvest coins on a map using strategy, time and optionaly teamwork.
After a Hunter brings harvested coins them back to a spawn area they will materialize in player wallet. Miners will receive 10% of these "banked" coins (bank tax).
When a Hunter is killed, 4% of the coins it held will be taken by miners (death tax) and the rest will be dropped to the ground. Any player can pick them up afterwards.
Miners should receive in total (over time) 20% of block reward (2 coins) + all taxes.
Crown of Fortune – Unique item on the map, player who picked it up will be getting 0.25 coins per newly mined block for as long as crown is in his possession.
Cost per new Hunter is 200 coins.

Who is the dev here?

Can we cut the max supply to say 21 million, or even less than that?  We can stretch the mining out if necessary to keep PoW phase going a lot longer if necessary for security reasons.

There is no real incentive for botters to use free generals. They would waste a lot of time and get coins only after general turns from free to normal version. Given that botting is advanced operation and that it is highly likely botters already have either BTC or HUC it would be in their interest to create just normal generals (better ROI) but it is random player, a noobie to cryptocoins, who would have major issues starting to play Huntercoin. Just imagine situation where someone just downloaded mobile version and wants to play, where to get HUC? Even if HUC is added to Shapeshift.io or some similar exchanges player would still need BTC to buy HUC. What if he has no cryptocoins at all? No problem, play instantly but you'll pay 1,000 HUC to development fund before you get any coins for yourself. Development fund can afterwards pay some coins to miners or people running full-nodes as compensation for increased use of bandwidth and computer resources.

As for players just sitting at the same spot doing nothing, well, just kill them all after let's say 120 blocks of inactivity.  Grin

Atm, i am certain that if you are able create infinite hunters for free (or there about's) that are able loot 1000 coins, the map will be saturated with them.

I think in the future we may be able to come up with something -- maybe make the map 100x bigger, maybe very low cost hunters have a fixed lifespan and low carry capacity, or also one of BGB ideas in which the map is split into 3 levels - cheap, medium, expensive.

please post your thoughts on the huntercoin forum so we can keep track of your ideas though as it is something that could be doable in the future.

I have posted just a quick thoughts on the matter so they are not perfect but unless a total noobie can start playing Huntercoin in few minutes without a need to have some cryptocoins then I think Huntercoin will never reach mainstream. We can go much more radical when it comes to free generals, like "Free to create, dies upon 6 blocks of inactivity or once it collects 10 HUC". Point here is to let people play for free at start and then if they like the game most will go through trouble of making Cryptsy or Poloniex or wharever account to buy HUC with BTC or whatever else. Many games today are freemium (free to play with premium features) and gaming industry is going that direction big time.

banks are highlighted with special animated arrows


note that i change the transparency to show the user easily that a bank spawn is going to disappear (bank have life expectancy, after a while they change to a random position, so it's important to have a "big vision" about bank distribution imho)



and when you zoom in, starting from a specific zoom level, you can see more info Like the bank lifetime left before it disappear:



i change even the text color and size but not sure if i'll left it as it is or change it to normal color, at the end the visual clue is already the transparency on the "bank arrow"

thanks looks good, will use it and modify some tiny bits.

some things not well documented -

Current Carry Capacity is 2000  (with the update this will be reduced to 100)
When carrying the Crown of Fortune, you have unlimited Carry Capacity.
When carrying the Crown of Fortune you cannot destruct.

Actually reason i posted, was i got killed with my hunter i did not make anything other then hunters.. and it was ~ 170 coins on the ground for each of us, so i am guessing the 200 coins dropped plus what we held and a % was taken due to the miners fees.

all hunters and generals loot drop on the floor.
With the update, the coins which you spent on your general (200 hucs) will never drop on the floor.

Trade volume on Poloniex was not this high for almost a year, at 1 day interval!  Shocked

Trade volume of almost all cryptocoins is going crazy in China, just check http://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/btc38/ even coins that had almost no trade volume anywhere like a month ago are now traded for 10+ BTC. Does anyone have some conections with chinese exchanges, preferably BTC38 or some other that deals with altcoins?
