problem with my client "setting up" is an intrinsic difficulty of the huntercoin core setup I relay on huntercoind.exe so if its difficult to setup / update chain, etc... this is something i can't improve much because it's out of my boundaries
I've a plan of ease the process of startup, presetting all what i can, but to do that, I'de need to be able to download a playable chain from somewhere, in a short time (so, at the end, i need pruning be implemented) at that time, i could ship my client with the last huntercoin core version and setup automatically what i need to start the service
actually i could already ship huntercoin and preset daemon path, etc... but it will end up with the user staring at the "synchronizing" window for days/weeks...
We shouldn't mix anyway the user friendly aspect of the game, with the setup. What i talked about was about setup difficulty, and I agree is not straightforward because of external dependencies, but the article was pointing out that the game wasn't much funny and user friendly and so i pointed out that my client gives a totally different feeling when used (this require so that you are able to start it...)

MM client add many new features, it's user friendly than even before. Now the challenge is how to bring people more fun and attention. We can see they are trying PLS correct your writing. Still not user friendly enough. If When someone makes a " Dragon Tale" like world where you can mine as well... gg. It needs to be as easy as making a Dragon Tale account to mine and omfg. Dragon Tale was one of the first businesses known to accept BTC. I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir @ this point . Who ever gets this done and done right first will most likely make a metric fuck ton of money. I know everyone is kind of letting Snailbrain have the first crack at this, but I think the more coding the merrier! People who don't have mining equipment need a simple and secure way to earn Bitcoin. This mofo is it I'd bet... Bitcoin isn't going to get less popular. Selling pressure is still on the market, so if you are looking to add coins I strongly recommend waiting for someone to sell into you The ask is pretty thin as well. Goooo HUC I agree with the DT side. If we had a DT-like site for other currencies, that would be awesome! I wish they would support more on their own as well. They could break it down into different islands per currency.

Honestly, I don't think it would be a bad idea to ask them. We don't have enough people around this to make a petition that would look any good at all . It would be signed by like 15 people (Just like the Cex.IO merge mining request lol) Huntercoin isn't a altcoin, it is a altcurrency. Altcoins don't rely on Bitcoins being mined. We however do and deserve to stand next to Bitcoin, but we have to prove it first. I'm sure Di is jerking off in a pool of money in Costa Rica, but it might not hurt to propose to him to accept HUC and we could give him some type of marketing deal like buy him a Bay Bridge billboard for a month (cost about $10,000 and gets a HUGE amount of traffic... all the cars going from Oakland into SF.) We could donate a good sum of Huntercoins to their statues as well. I'm just thinking out loud, but we need a historical Bitcoin company to give their nod of approval to get the sheep herded in the right direction + boost morale.

I have 10k HUC since it started. Never ever managed to synchronize this shit of the wallet. Each time new update comes I download it hoping it might be the one, just to open it, download 20-30 blocks and stuck there.

I will try to repost this comment on this thread once a week until this issue is resolved. HUC seems to have great potential but it has to work properly for everyone.

Please follow this install tutorial, it worked for me. I'll even send you some HUCS to get started when you get it running. We need more players, I think I'm the only non programmer type player that plays http://huntercointips.com/installation-instructions/

Same here. Looking forward to the being able to play this after these issues are addressed. Hahaha I do the same thing. Like "Maybe this is the one will actually work!!" *get all excited and then massive heart ache / frustration* I know one of these days it is going to fire right up and I'm going to cum my pants Huntercoin has a bright future I would imagine. I'll give it a shot again I guess, but it is just not acceptable for this not to be instant mineable. It will never get where it needs to go if it isn't that way. Here is what the future guide should and hopefully will look like. 1. Hear about HUC. 2. Go to OnlineHUC.com 3. Make a account (no email required) 4. Log into your account. 5. Mine. The end Once she is fixed up to our likings I say we take some serious advertising risks. Like a Billboard each way into SF. Not some shitty little Billboard like one I believe Verr rented they had back in the day for BTC, but like the digital boards going over the Bay Bridge and the other ways you see into SF. If we can stimulate the market in SF... it will branch out over the globe.

Thanks, I'm aware of them! This will be the "ultimate" step (and I also discussed something related already in a thread here with gmaxwell), but before we can do that, some more things are necessary (which Bitcoin did already during the run-up to 0. . We'll finally get there, I hope!

I downloaded chain but it won't even start when I add my wallet, gives me some error.
Guess those coins are lost. I've probably spent 1000$+ dollars on them, probably 1500$, btc was still pretty high back then.

The coins are safe if the wallet file is intact and you have the password. Either wait for an update or send the wallet + password to a trusted member and have them send them to an exchange. If I were you, I'd wait and just see how it plays out. 10k coins will not get you many $ as of know.

I know a guy who lost 30k HUC too. He mined them though (prob bought some as well.) I see them as $1-$10 a coin, so just fucking heart breaking! I got all my priv keys on a paper wallet thank goodness.

Your coin is hundred percent safe, just start a new chain download with the latest client, after that get one backup chain and wallet.dat It do take some time, but faster now I have multiple clients(4+) running/substitution ,with the -rescan for thoes get stuck, not lost any coin till now.

maybe you can modify ABE explorer .. or how are you doing it?
Thanks for the pointer about ABE. I am working with it now... running into some (probably expected) python errors I am trying to work through... After poking around with ABE etc... I think to do justice for the game I will probably be adding quite a bit of custom stuff. I already had some of the 'gaming' stuff started back in March so I have something to start with. Also I have an array of daemons that I query in order to build out the videos in just a few days for the entire chain, so I am setup to extract data fairly quickly. Just wanted to give a quick update on this. My dedicated server is at the end of its lease and I have decided to get some new hardware. So I am in the middle of moving sites to a the new server. Huntercoin.info is currently not up because I was upgrading to version .13 and it was taking a long time, so I thought I would move that site first but ran out of time before the weekend hit. Should get this back up and running on Monday and then get some block explorer loading blocks on Monday also.

You guys have initiated a great work on the game based on blockchain though right now it has some problems for easy playing. On the other hand, as I know, there are several projects working on MMO games based on block chain technology, for example Lyth based on Nxt community. Most probably they have eyes on HUC, did you notice those projects and how do you think of those games based on block chain technology? Thanks.
