Can't speak for anyone else, but my miner (BFL Single w/ BGFminer on Ubuntu) refuses to stay connected to any pool besides BTC Guild, that's why I was on it. The only other one that works is BTCDig and that is a really small pool, that I can't seem to stay connected to today either.

As of 1:16pm PST all miner went to failover pools again. The pressure on the servers continues. I'll check back for updates.

Eleuthria: pm sent for private IP? p2pool hashrate has spiked. Lots of folks are jumping there. Makes it hard for a little guy like me (12gh/s) to use when I need a 86k share to get on the chain. Expected time to share: 18.6hours.  M |

Who stands to gain from this disruption? Follow the money? Yea. Looks like a classic block grab. What i'm about to say is probably wrong, but that has never stopped me. The size of Pie is more or less fixed. if you lower someone elses hashrate, you potentially increase your own share of the pie. Even if this isn't true, it is quite possible that those behind the attacks think it is. Also, with the difficulty set for a higher hashrate, lowering the hashrate would cause fewer coins to be mined which could potentially cause a rise in the exchange rate. |
