India has performed well till now, but the women's team in India doesn't enjoy the level of glamour and glitz that is associated with the men's sport. The BCCI is yet to organize a franchise league for the women players, while their counterparts in Australia and England have Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) and Women's Cricket Super League respectively. Sure the Women cricketers are not getting the same recognition like the male counterparts and that is the case with other sports , only male cricketers does have fans and the money value, if you check out Mithali Raj who is a sort of legendary female cricketer with a average above 50 and i am sure many have no idea who she is. India is playing well and they could win the tournament as they are bowling really well and Poonam Yadav and Shikha Pandey are the leading wicket takers in the tournament so far and they have won close games with their bowling.

That was a crushing victory by Australia, I had a feeling that Australia would win the series against South Africa in SA where the ball tampering happened. And both Warner and Smith had a good series after they were the ones that were punished the hardest. I find it strange that Australia went on this tour and now come back to play a home series, normally after the test series in Australia they have the ODI series and T20 series but this year for the first time it was changed.

I am not sure about this statement in this era, if it is competitive then you will have the fans and the sponsorship, take a look at Tennis, MMA, Badminton, Track and Field, Volleyball as well as Beach Volleyball and i bet everyone will be watching the Woman's Beach Volleyball than Men's and Woman dominate in the field of Gymnastics and Swimming and you still think that it is just a male dominated sports.

There is simply no demand for such league at the moment and very less crowd presence whenever women cricket is being played.

Guess its beat the idea of celebrating birthday of Sheikh Mujib if they includes any Pakistani so can understand their point of view.
Although I am from Bangladesh and I respect Bongobondhu Seikh Mujib, I think this is a stupid decision to exclude Pakistani players in the squad. No matter what have Pakistan done with Bangladesh and Mujib, cricket board has nothing to do with that. This is really a disregard to the sports and I am hating cricket more. I would love to watch the match but not having much interest due to the fact of excluding Pakistani players.

In India things are changing and also this days people do take interest in women’s cricket and do talk about it as well. Also, their are 2 movies coming based on Maithili Raj and Goswami life which itself proves how country is now changing their mindset. Another advantage could be here that if India enters final and win it things may just change much rapidly than expected . Hope to see some good cricket in coming matches from women’s team .

Films can change minds but still this is going to take some long time because here its not easy femals coming in sports its nothing new because we have some very talented and good sportswomen but still its not as we have males because of many local issues and environement is also not good for women they need some very hard work for maintanining fitness like this few issues which we cannot change in few days or months these can take very long time.

IPL started because of T20 worldcup as it was a huge success and India won the world cup. Naturally BCCI cashed in the craze and excitement of T20. I do not see the same happening in Women cricket. There is very less viewership and not many broadcasters are interested. I agree things need to change but change need money and big sponsorships. Untill that happens I do not foresee a woman IPL in the making.

India is a male dominated society, at least when compared to other nations such as England and Australia. In both England and Australia, the women's teams have a large fan base (almost entirely made up of females) and this is missing in India. Not many of the Indian women are interested in watching sports and even here in this thread, I have seen only one female user (Sithara).

It is not only India but the whole of South East Asia has a male centric society. Women in these countries hardly watch cricket or any other sports as compared to women in Australia or England. More participation is required by the women themselves. Things have changed a lot in other sports like badminton and tennis in India but not in cricket.

^^^^ I heard that the BCCI have plans to organize a few women's matches during the interval between two IPL matches in a single-day. They tried this last year also, but the crowd reaction was not very positive. Sadly, the Indian women's doesn't have any stars among them, unlike the case with other sports where they have players such as PV Sindhu and Sania Mirza.

No, its about T-20 game in Bangladesh ( World XI and Asia XI). Context : BCB didn't picked any Pakistani player for this event. info available at last page already. India is a male dominated society, at least when compared to other nations such as England and Australia.
What does it even mean . What I meant was that the gap between men and women at professional level in India is much more than what you have in England or Australia. Recently, there have been a lot of progress, but you will find very few women in management boards, politics, banking.etc. Sports is also not immune from this. Women's sport normally does not attract much viewer interest in India (although we have exceptions, such as PV Sindhu in badminton, Sushila Chanu in hockey and Sania Mirza in tennis).
