There has been a lot of uncertainty regarding whether the T20 World Cup 2020 will go ahead as planned, or it may be postponed. We may get a definite answer today. Indications are that the ICC is also in favor of postponing the tournament, after Cricket Australia officials said that staging the tournament this year is "unrealistic". Once the confirmation comes from the ICC, we can expect the BCCI to make their push for a mini-IPL this season.

@Vishnu.Reang I feel that ICC is not in favour of postponing the World Cup, and the news that the World Cup will be postponed has been spread by the IPL organisers who want to pressurise ICC into postponing the World Cup. Further I’m aware that the CA chairman too has casted doubts about the World Cup, but now Australia’s PM has decided to allow crowds back in the stadium which means that T20 World Cup will definitely go ahead if ICC pushes for it.

This piece of news will bring in some smiles to the faces of International Cricket Council (ICC), Cricket Australia (CA) and those cricket fans who are eagerly waiting for the ICC T20 World Cup down under in October-Nov this year. With COVID-19 relatively under control in Western Australia (WA), the state government has announced plans to allow full-capacity crowds from July 18, meaning up to 60,000 fans could attend games at Perth’s Optus Stadium while other part of the country also gradually opening up.

But at the same time, this news will disappoint the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) fans who are hoping for the T20 World Cup window to be utilized by IPL 2020 this year.

It is evident that teh Pakistan cricket board whatever it may be did not take the necessary precautions and if they really did those then they would not have suffered like that, Soccer clubs and the UFC showed how to resume the sports by testing each and every person that is participating in the event and then give them a window to isolate themselves before the test results are out and if you are not doing that then it is bound to see disasters like these.

Today? I was under impression that meeting is schedule to next month, they did met recently around 10ish june.

Cancellation announcement seems only formality to me, every interested parties already seems to favoring cancellation for so long. 

I thought that same and I do think that the T20 world cup will be postponed as the situation here in Australia is now getting out of control. The cases in Victoria where the final was to be played is really spiking so I can't see the world cup going ahead unless they move it to another state like Western Australia where the cases are low and under control. State borders are still closed in Australia and the Western Australian government is pushing to have the AFL grand final played in Western Australia and also the boxing day test match so I wouldn't be surprised if they put forward a case to also host the T20 world cup final and most of the matches. Time will tell on what the ICC decide but its looking unlikely to me that it will go ahead as planned.

There might be fair amount of cricket stadium in Western part but no stadium got any opportunity to host even single international cricket match, not sure why? Only grounds gets games there are Waca and Optus (perth) Stadium.

As you have mentioned, maybe PCB didn't take any precautions but having full crowds for the games is just a stupid decision. I believe both PL and UFC are resumed without spectators so you just have to properly check your players and supporting staffs and you don't necessarily have to worry about thousands of spectators.

PCB is not doing its bit in keeping players safe, players should also understand that covid19 is not a normal flu. It is a deadly virus and they should follow the standard SOP. I am not sure what exactly these 10 players were thinking? Were they not following social distancing?
Until ICC takes a decision and PCB declares that they do not have replacement for these players I do no think there will be any issue with international tournaments.

Also when these pakistani players will reach England they will be tested again and remain in quarantine for 14 days. This is not only for those who had covid19 but the whole cricket team will experience 14 days quarantine in England.

They won't be treated but they will quarantined as per the SOP. The problem is that Pakistani players did not take this disease seriously and that is why more than one have been tested positive. They should behave like professional if they want to play international cricket.
