What's happening with the Pakistani team? Heard that almost 8-9 players have tested positive for covid. Their England tour. Still in tract though according to PCB chief.

With the number of players testing positive there is no point in sending a second class team to tour England, Pakistan is usually struggling to put up a strong team even when the entire players are fit and with the current situation entirely not in their favor the best option is to postpone the series rather than carrying on with it. When the rest of the teams continue to put together the team who knows what the situation will be.

This tour might not go ahead anyway as Europe is already talking about not allowing US residents into Europe as its one of the hardest hit nations and with the current situation in Pakistan with the cases rising and with their players contracting the virus its hard to see this tour going ahead. I think it will be best to call it off as this virus doesn't look like slowing down.

PCB is not in mood of any cancellation, they clarified this during their briefing. My guess are...

- May be because they have 1 month as buffer.
- Players are asymptomatic.
- Considering replacement players, this one looks shady tho..

May be the real reason is that they cannot afford missing the series because of financial reason, three months of no cricket and the board is already suffering because there is not much cricket played in Pakistan and with the lock down and the virus they might be in financial crisis and it makes sense that they want to continue even thought 10 of their players are infected, asymptomatic does not mean they are not carriers of the virus and they need to check what is going on with the players to get everyone infected.

If the infection sets in, then at least some of them may experience symptoms such as coughing, fever or even pneumonia. And that would make them contagious.

If you are infected then you are contagious even if you are asymptomatic, the majority of the spread is because people who are asymptotic is spreading the disease and so is the reason it is difficult to contain the spread and difficult to identify the source of infection and we do not have a concrete data on that yet but i am pretty sure no one in the right sense would stay in an area if someone is coughing or showing some symptoms and if you think logically the asymptomatic contagious situation is the most damaging aspect of Corona virus.

Well, that seems a main reason, i suppose and i don't blame them for that. Pandemic is quite hard on every cricket board and more so on when some board are already facing some financial challenges.

It is true that WHO especially Tedros Adhanom who is having contradictory statement one after another from the beginning, initially they said the Corona virus will not spread from human to human and then they changed that, it was a lack of competence from their part to identify the situation and rather than banning all the flights from China they assured that everything is alright. It is a new virus and naturally the scientific world will not have much information about the virus but to have contradicting statement one after the other will not help in containing the virus.

Look like we are going to watch some more drama about this Covid-19 in next few days as many local peoples already complaining about this and they are now feeling its really serious issue many labortries and Doctors taking good benefit of this all wrongly government is also feeling heat and they will take some action about this all.

I hope the rest of the fighters will not be affected because if you are not taking the testing serious you are bound to see a disaster as it is evident from the recent Tennis tournament conducted by Djokovic and many of the players who participated in the event are corona positive including Djokovic which is really unfortunate and it is a lesson for every sporting event that are planning to resume.

Right now we have many jokes around but one thing is serious that many peoples already died and thousands on vantilators but really weired situation for me as stick locl down and lives still not safe hospitals full and Doctors also losing lives in this all need some very good mind for understanding this all.

That is the nature of the virus, the WHO is funded heavily and they get around $5 billion annual and if they are not able to conduct valid test and research and get to the bottom of the situation and if they would have started the preparation when the virus started spreading in China we would not have seen these kind of catastrophes and when they change important statements every week then what is the real use of the World Health Organization that does not deliver anything and helps in combating the virus.

Just think, the WHO could have prevented this pandemic if they had taken actions when the virus started spreading in China.

Cancellation announcement seems only formality to me, every interested parties already seems to favoring cancellation for so long.
