The gold issue is under investigation and it nowhere related to cricket. I do not think that will be a problem as Indian government has good relations with UAE.
The proposed ODI will get cancelled as all other series have been in the past by BCCI.
The BCCI is planning to conduct the ODI series (against South Africa) in the UAE right after the IPL. They need the government permission for that. As I said earlier, I have suspicion that the Indian government may be a bit skeptical about allowing the Indian national team to play at Sharjah, but then the prospect of earning good amounts of tax revenue should swing their decision. Sharjah is known for all the wrong things that happened in the past in Indian cricket. IPL being very lucrative can attract again those controversies. The onus will be on BCCI and the government will blame BCCI for any wrong doing. Why will then the government stop the tournament. Of course money is main reason that is why BCCI has decided to conduct the tournament in UAE and that will be the same reason why government will allow it.

I read somewhere that broadcaster want to cover Diwali slot (14 Nov) as well, can't find report and BCCI want to conclude IPL season soon (7th Nov) due to Ind-Aus series ( Reasons : mandatory 14- days quarantine, practice games etc). What is diwali slot, there is nothing going on during this period and that will continue till November as well. Diwali - One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism. So basically broadcaster wants to cover Diwali week for more revenue. WE WANT TO MAKE IPL FOR THE WEEK OF DIWALI FOR MORE PROFIT, WHILE BCCI FOCUS ON AUSTRALIA TOURThere is still suspense regarding the Indian Premier League (IPL). Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has prepared a possible roadmap keeping the November-December tour of Australia in mind. According to sources, the board has prepared a possible schedule for the IPL from September 26 to November 8. However, some broadcasters are not happy with this, including Star India. They want to take the IPL to the upcoming Diwali on November 14 for profit.
Broadcasters want to earn more profits in Diwali week
If sources are to be believed, the broadcaster wants to earn more profits through advertising during the week of Star Diwali. That is why they want the BCCI to take this schedule by the second or third week of November. Those opposing the schedule say that most of the matches in the IPL this time will be in the afternoon, which will affect the ratings.
Star expected to earn Rs 3300 crore from Ed this year Star has bought the broadcasting rights of the IPL for 5 years for Rs 16,347.5 crore. 55 crores for a match i.e. 23.3 lakhs per ball. Star is expected to generate 3300 crore TV, digital ad revenue from the IPL this year. He has already sold 90% of the ad slots.

What can you expect in these situations? Mandatory quarantine will claim 14 days and then when will they play? You have to follow the SOP for covid19 to prevent further excalation.

If the other teams can undergo the 14 day quarantine, then what is the problem with the Indian team? Both West Indies and Pakistan teams underwent quarantine after reaching England. Laws remain same for everyone and the BCCI can't claim that they are special and they should be given the exception. The best thing to do is to include more matches, so that the time wasted as a result of quarantine is justified.

So after yesterdays meeting, IPL to set on the Diwali slot as mentioned earlier by JSRAW. IPL to be played from September 19 To November 8 in the UAEIPL in all likelihood will start on September 19 (Saturday) and the final will be held on November 8 (Sunday). It is a 51-day window which will suit the franchises as well as the broadcasters and other stakeholders Bowl a no ball to get the wicket

^^^ TV broadcasters should be reasonable in their demands. They wanted the IPL and now they got it despite the different circumstances. Now they can't make unfair demands like the schedule should be decided by them. Also, it needs to be remembered that this year's T20 World Cup was postponed, so that the IPL 2020 can go forward as planned.

Not interested in unnecessary T-20 series after 50 days of IPL dose . let them follow quarantine norm and training, then focus on Day/Night practice match + Test series. --------------------------- edit Nihari Cricket

Not interested in unnecessary T-20 series after 50 days of IPL dose . let them follow quarantine norm and training, then focus on Day/Night practice match + Test series. Didn't expect IPL to happen this year which is why this news surprised me. UAE are taking a big risk here just for the sake of financial incentives and I hope the tournament starts and concludes smoothly without any issues due to COVID. The big question is how will this affect IPL 2021 which would take place right after a couple of months as long as a vaccine is ready. I still think that the BCCI should have sacrificed IPL this year even if they were to lose 4K crores since health should be given a greater priority here. Let's see what happens.

Since you are so concerned of IPL being organised in UAE I think you should watch this video - https://youtu.be/UM1XegvglO0If I am correct then UAE is the only country that is open to tourism. IPL will conclude smoothly without any issues.

Even in current situation its big risk but I am feeling UAE Authorities are able to handle things as they wanted because they have very strong system they already allow many works to start again as they are doing some good to control this Virus but still its risk and BCCI is also very eager to take this as they also looking big profit not for any safety.

Guys it’s official the IPL is scheduled to begin on September 19th in UAE, and the final will be held on November 8th. @Indymoney I believe that UAE is very strict in implementing covid laws, hence I’m not surprised that BCCI has selected UAE as the destination, and now let’s hope that this tournament starts and ends without anyone testing positive. One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism.
So basically broadcaster wants to cover Diwali week for more revenue. Wow, one month festival, never thought that a festival could last one month as i am accustomed to Carnevale, Pasquetta and Christmas, but the matches in IPL just last around 3 to 4 hours and they can stack the day with the rest of the programs as the matches actually takes place at night. I really enjoy participating in these events rather than watching it in television. I read the wiki page but i am more confused now as it says it is a festival of several other religion. We are certain we will see the IPL this year and that is a good thing.

Festivals in India are usually celebrated for several days to weeks. Diwali isn't a month long festival. It lasts for a couple of days and people around the world call it the festival of lights due to the epic fireworks basically which is why people from different religions participate in it. Certain festivals last for a couple of weeks though. 3rd world countries like India go big on festivals primarily during the 2nd half of the year. Diwali plus IPL basically equals fireworks!

How big any festive was in the past you cannot expect anything to go as normal and you will be forced to celebrate at home and the reason the broadcasting partners wanted a different slot is because they want to cater to the audience who miss going out and enjoy the festival but India is a cricket craze nation and they will earn more than broadcasting anything else during festival season when everyone is forced to celebrate at home.

So finally we will have the IPL afterall. It would be interesting to see how it feels to watch it on TV without the usual exuberant, rancorous crowd noise in the background of commentary. Imagine cricket but with the background noise of a golf match. This will feel like twenty-twenty with a test match crowd. Will it make the experience a little less interesting. They should come up with some excuse to introduce background static in commentary to simulate a crowd. 3rd world countries like India go big on festivals primarily during the 2nd half of the year.
Logic ki maaaaaaa... chis jala di bhai?? Festivals are correlated to the harvest season not to developing or developed countries. And no, Rama did not return during Diwali so he could harvest his grains at Ayodhya.

Bhai murkho ki kami nahi hai is duniya main!! Why bother then? It is not his fault he has been told about it or might have read it somewhere. You do not need to explain to everyone about festivals in India.
